Class of 1998 MSc Agronomy, PhD at Anna University

Placements: We will be placed well if we choose diversified fields (like biotechnology, environment etc) apart from regular core Agrl. subjects (like Agronomy, soil science)

Infrastructure / Teaching facilities: One of the best Universities in India with all uptodate facilities. Green Campus, Good Hostel with Swimming pool, Very nice students canteen etc...

Faculty: Lot of courses in diversified fields - like economics, veterinary science, biotechnology, sociology apart from the regular core agricultural subjects. Also we have lot of field visits and educational tours covering the whole state and country.

Overall Feedback: Rich experience in diversified fields. Can survive in any Department of specialization. I agree with Agri.

Placements: Placement Cell of TNAU has put promisig efforts by arranging the placements from different companies, Educational institutes, bank,etc.

Infrastructure / Teaching facilities: Departments are provided with the sophasticated equipments. All the hostels are provided with internet facilities so that it is very easy for doing the assignment and studies using internet resources.

Faculty: Faculty in the TNAU are the best faculty and experienced both in research and teaching than all the other known institutions.

    • Tamilnadu Agricultural University is a leading agro-technology provider of India and its graduates are recognized throughout the world.
    • Though the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) came into being on June 1, 1971, it had its genesis from establishment of an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India as early as 1868 which was later relocated at Coimbatore during 1906.
    • TNAU assumed full responsibilities of Agricultural Education and Research and supported the State Agricultural Department by delivering research products.

  • Curriculum

    Falling in line with the policies of the University and ICAR, the curricula and syllabus are revised periodically by the Board of Studies for Agriculture. The Dean (Agriculture) is the Chairman and the Professor and Heads of different disciplines constitute the members of the Board of Studies for Agriculture. Revision of syllabus and introduction of new courses are done based on the emerging needs nationally and globally. The syllabus for all the courses are revised every four years. The syllabus revision is taken up ne year before the four-year cycle and discussed at various levels and a syllabus Revision Workshop was conducted. Besides discussion with faculty members, the PG students and the current students are consulted and debated to get the feed back from the clientele and modified accordingly based on their suggestions.
