Value education gets 5% share in Board exam subjectsThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams will now carry 5% marks for value education integrated in every core subject paper of Class X and XII.

As a result of this decision by CBSE, students will now answer questions related to morals and values also while writing their Maths, Science and other papers. Value education will not be a separate subject.

According to a member of the CBSE governing board, CBSE will finalize everything in a month's time.

The initiative has attracted mixed reactions from students and teachers. There are others wondering about the rationale behind allocating 5 marks in every paper to evaluate values of a student. Read more
