Decorative arts are the form of arts or crafts which deals with manufacturing and designing of objects. The decorative arts are not just beautiful and pleasing to the eye but also functional and serve a purpose. Decorative arts focus not just on aesthetics but practical technique as well. Decorative arts include arts for the building interiors, interior designs etc. Decorative arts are majorly overlapped with applied arts and fine arts. But there is a slight difference between all three art forms. Painting, photography, drawing etc. are the form of fine arts.
Arts are usually divided into three categories:
Fine Arts: This art form usually deals with its aesthetic and beauty of an object. Some of the examples of fine arts are pottery, ceramics, literature etc.
Visual Arts: This is the kind of art form that is pleasant to the eyes. It is somewhat similar to fine art. Film-making, sculpture etc. are some of the examples of Visual art.
Performing Arts: This type of art form is related to the use of physical ability. For example, facial expression, singing, dancing, drama, music etc.

Decorative Arts: Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants can pursue a degree course, certificate or diploma course at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Decorative Arts. Given below are the eligibility criteria for the UG and PG level courses:
UG Level: In order to pursue Decorative Art programme at UG level candidates need to have a class 12th pass certificate in any stream from a recognised board with a minimum 50% - 60% marks.
PG Level: Candidates who aspire to pursue PG level course in Decorative Arts need to have a graduation degree in Arts.
