The NIOS Class 10, 12 theory examinations 2022 have been scheduled from April 4 to April 30, 2022. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) had released the NIOS Date Sheet 2022 for classes 10 and 12 on Feruary 28 on its official website.
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released the NIOS 10th, 12th Hall Ticket 2022 on March 24. The NIOS Admit Card 2022 has been released online on the official NIOS website at sdmis.nios.ac.in/search.
The National Institute of Open Schooling abbreviated as NIOS was set up to cater to the needs of a mixed group of learners up to pre-degree level. The Open School was started in 1979 as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It was established by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 1989. Currently, the NIOS Admissions for classes 10, 12 are underway for Block-I and the admissions are open until September 15, 2020.
NIOS imparts education through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode through an amalgamation of self-instructional print material, audio and video programme supported by Personal Contact Programme (PCP) at the Accredited Institutions. These are further supplemented by Radio broadcast, TV programmes and Mukta Vidya Vani (audio streaming through the NIOS website).
NIOS admissions to the secondary and senior secondary levels are conducted twice a year.

NIOS provides opportunities to interested learners by making available the following Courses/Programmes of Study through open and distance learning (ODL) mode. It is one of the largest open schooling systems in the world with a cumulative enrollment of 2-81 million candidates in past 5 years. Since 1991, approximately 3.52 million learners have been certified in the Secondary, Senior Secondary and Vocations education programmes.
The mission of NIOS is to provide education to allow opportunities to the candidates who wish to study further and qualify for a better tomorrow. NIOS has also taken special initiative to impart education to jail inmates by setting up study centres across the country.
NIOS works through a network of twenty-two regional centres, two sub-regional centres, two NIOS Cells and more than seven thousand Accredited Institutions (AIs) and Accredited Vocational Institutions (AVIs). These centres are located in various parts of the world namely, India, Nepal and Middle – East.

The NIOS admissions to the secondary and senior secondary levels are conducted twice a year. The first cycle (Block-I) usually happens around April/May while the second cycle (Block-II) of admission is during October/November.

The NIOS Board offers a flexible and unique education system to students who want to complete their studies at different levels i.e. secondary, senior secondary or vocational courses. Moreover, students who want to appear in competitive exams can opt for NIOS boards after class 10th to prepare well to crack the competitive exams.
The Board offers many programmes:
A. Open Basic Education (OBE)
It provides basic education to the learners and is equivalent to any other regular affiliated formal schools. It is a three-level programme:
(i) OBE 'A' Level Course (equivalent to Class III)
(ii) OBE 'B' Level Course (equivalent to Class V)
(iii) OBE 'C' Level Course (equivalent to Class VIII)
B. Academic Courses
(i) Secondary Course (equivalent to Class X)
(ii) Senior Secondary Course (equivalent to Class XII)
C. Vocational Education Courses
The vocational courses offered by NIOS teach students about target skills in various fields such as Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Business, Accounts and Commerce, IT and Technology, Engineering and Architecture, Health and Paramedical Science, Home Science, Hospitality Management, Teacher Training, among others.
D. Life Enrichment Programmes
Women empowerment (Paripurana Mahila), Yoga and meditation and Indian music, etc are some of the life-enrichment programmes offered by NIOS.
NIOS Date Sheet 2022
NIOS has released the NIOS 10th, 12th Date Sheet 2022 on its official website on As per the released NIOS Date Sheet 2022, the exams have been scheduled from April 4 to April 30, 2022
Students must go through the complete NIOS 10th Syllabus 2022 and NIOS 12th Syllabus 2022 thoroughly to know all the topics they need to cover for the examinations. Students can divide the syllabus into parts for better preparation of the examinations.
NIOS Question Paper 2021-22
NIOS provides sample papers/previous years' question papers for the students to be able to practise and have an idea about the type of questions. Students should take the help of the NIOS question papers 2021-22 and practise them while preparing for the exams. Students can click on NIOS Question Paper 2021-22 Class 10 and NIOS Question Paper 2021-22 Class 12 to download the NIOS Question Paper/Sample paper for practising.
NIOS Admit Card 2022
NIOS releases the NIOS Admit Card for classes 10th and 12th for theory examinations on its official website. All the students appearing for the NIOS 10th, 12th examinations must visit the official website of NIOS to download the same.
Preparation tips for NIOS Class 10th, 12th exams:
1. Make a time table/ schedule
Students must chalk out a time table/ schedule that should have all the important topics on priority so that the main things are covered well in time.
2. Analyse the syllabus
Students should go through the NIOS Syllabus and analyse it thoroughly. Marking scheme, pattern should also be taken care of while preparing for NIOS exams.
3. Solve previous years’ papers
Solving a bunch of question papers before giving the actual exam helps a student in managing the time as well as the students get an idea of the questions that are expected in the NIOS exam.
4. Make notes
Making notes should be one of the most important parts of the study schedule. Notes help in learning quickly and also come handy at the time of revision and all the last-minute preparations.
NIOS Result 2022
The NIOS 12th Result 2022 as well as the NIOS 10th Result 2022 will be released in June, tentatively. Students can check their NIOS Result 2022 through the official website of NIOS using their enrolment number. The NIOS Result 2022 will be made available simultaneously for Class 10, 12 students.
NIOS ODE (On-Demand Examination)
The National Institute of Open Schooling also launched a concept of On-Demand Examinations (ODES) wherein the candidates can take the examination when they are prepared for it. There will not be any set time or schedule for the candidates to take the exam.
The concept was first introduced in the year 2003 at the secondary level and proved to be a great step in the direction of flexibility and distance learning. It made the total system of examination, independent of the time frame further helping the students to perform better as they can take the examination as per their wish.
Witnessing success at the secondary level, the concept was re-introduced in the year 2007 in Sr. Secondary level. Currently, ODE is being conducted at NIOS Headquarters – Noida and at its regional centres in the following Secondary and Sr. Secondary levels.
The ODES result is declared and published through the NIOS website during the last week of every month for the examinations conducted in the preceding month.
