Punjab Board has reduced the PSEB syllabus 2021 for Class 10 and 12 by 30 percent due to COVID19 outbreak. The examinations will be conducted in March/April 2021. Read all about PSEB 10th, 12th syllabus, exam pattern, datesheet, and other important updates below.
Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) organizes and conducts the PSEB exams for Classes 10th, 12th every year. It prescribes the PSEB syllabus and exam pattern for the board examinations.
Headquartered in Ajitgarh (formerly known as Mohali), PSEB is a school education board for the state of Punjab. The board was founded in 1969 under a legislative act of the Government of Punjab. The board is headed by a Chairman whose term lasts three years. The Chairman reports to the Secretary of School Education in the Government of Punjab. Currently, the Chairman of the Board is Yog Raj Sharma.
Responsibility of the Board includes holding examinations for school education, publishing results of the examination, and then granting certificates to the students who clear the examinations. As many as 5667 government, 454 government-aided and 3125 unaided schools are affiliated to The Punjab School Education Board.

In 2020, Punjab Board had to postpone and cancel the PSEB examinations of Class 10th, 12th in the wake of COVID19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. The board announced the PSEB 12th Result on July 21 at 11 am on the official website of the State Board. PSEB 10th result was released on May 29. The results were calculated on the basis of 'best performing subjects formula'.

PSEB Date Sheet 2021
The Punjab School Education Board will release the PSEB 10th date sheet 2021 and PSEB class 12th datesheet 2021 on its official website in December 2020. The PSEB 10th theoretical examinations are expected to be conducted from March 17 to April 23, 2021 while the practicals will tentatively be held from April 18 to 27, 2021 at the respective exam centre. The PSEB class 12th examinations 2021 are likely to be held from March 3 to March 27, 2021. The PSEB 12th practical examinations shall be conducted in offline mode after the theory exams from April 18 to 27, 2021.
Last year, the Punjab Board examinations that were scheduled after March 20, 2020 were postponed and ultimately cancelled due to pandemic situation.
PSEB Exam Pattern 2021
The duration of the PSEB exam is three hours, and students get 15 minutes extra to read the question paper. Differently-abled students get 20 minutes extra time for every hour. Class 10 examination is conducted between 10 am and 1:15 pm, as per the PSEB 10th Exam Pattern 20201. While, according to the PSEB Class 12 Exam Pattern, the exams are conducted between 2 pm to 5:15 pm which includes 3 hours of writing time and 15 minutes of reading time. Extra 20 minutes are allotted to differently-abled students.
PSEB Syllabus 2021
Students must know the PSEB class 12th syllabus as well as PSEB Class 10th Syllabus for the better preparation of the board exams. The syllabus mentions all the topics covered in the 10th, 12th class for all subjects from where questions are framed for the exam.
PSEB Result 2021
The Punjab Board will release the PSEB Results 2021 for Classes 10th and 12th in May. The Results will be announced in the online mode on the official website and students will be able to check their PSEB result 2021 using roll number. The result mentions student's name, roll number, marks scored in all subjects, grades, and more. It should be noted that the PSEB 10th, 12th result that releases online is provisional in nature. students will be required to collect the original mark sheet from their schools.
In 2020, Punjab Board released the PSEB 10th Result and PSEB 12th Result on May 29 and July 21 respectively. Students can check their PSEB Class 10 Result and PSEB Class 12 Result through the official website- pseb.ac.in.
