What is Retail Courses?

Retail sector is now-a-days a blooming industry in the country creating ample job opportunities for those who have avid interest in sales markets, business diversification, campaigning, advertising, market research and segmentation. With the rapid evolution of retail industry comes the demand for retail courses that will train candidates to deal with the techniques, processes and methods that helps to derive greater sales and customer satisfaction.

Retail courses in India are available in three formats – diploma courses, bachelor’s degree courses, certification courses, professional courses and PG courses. Candidates can pursue retail courses full-time or through distance learning. The basic qualification required to pursue retail courses is 10+2 or equivalent qualification.

Retail courses offered by the colleges/institutes/universities aims to provide students in-depth understanding of the retail industry. Students are taught to identify problems, think creatively and come up with innovative methods to improve the retail process. Pursuing retail courses will enable candidates to work in a variety of retail setting like shopping malls, super markets, retail outlets, supply chain firms, logistic firms etc.

Retail Courses Eligibility & Entrance Exams

To apply for retail courses, candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

  • For admission to UG courses, candidates must have passed Class 12 and secured good score in the entrance tests if conducted by state, central and private universities.
  • For PG courses in retail, candidates must have passed graduation in any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce/Engineering etc) from a recognized university with a good score in the entrance tests.  

Top Retail Courses entrance exams

For admission in retail courses, candidates need to appear for the entrance exams. Most institutes accept scores of national level exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, etc to offer admissions to this course. Besides these national level tests, State, Central and Private Universities conducts their own entrance exams. After the entrance exams, candidates are called for Personal Interview and Group Discussion (this depends on the requirement by the university).

Okay you can do B.Sc. Physics but if your goal is pilot than you can go with Bachelor of Aviation, Bachelor of Aeronautical Science, after getting this degrees you can more chance & grasping power to fulfill your dream.

Marketing specializations has wider scope than retail management. Rankwise BIMTECH is higher. Brand value of BIMTECH would be slightly better. ITM is equally good b school in context of placement. I suggest you to explore more on your specializations and my first preference would be BIMTECH.
