B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology - Batch of 2024

I am absolutely dissatisfied with the quality of education.
Placements: I joined the Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Technology) in the year 2020. The fees were around Rs. 18,000. There were about 35 students in the batch. The training was posted in labs in Victoria Hospital every day from 9 AM to 1 PM, with complete exposure to lab diagnosis. We had 1 year internship in the final year.
Infrastructure: There was no allotment of hostel for Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Technology) in BMC&RI. One had to find a hostel/PG on their own. Also, there were no facilities like sports, gym, cafeteria, ground, or auditorium provided for this course. Infrastructure is good.
Faculty: The teaching faculty was good, but they don't teach mostly. Only a few topics are taught religiously otherwise, the student has to prepare on their own. The students were industry-ready only due to their posting in the hospital. The exams were quite tough and had to be done on own.
Other: The 12-month rotation internship was very versatile and tedious. We had to work like professionals from 9 AM to 4 PM on all days [even GH and festivals] in the hospital, but no stipend was given, which drains you completely. The administrative staff was very arrogant and didn't respond to students' queries.

BMCRI Research Oriented College.
Placements: There is no such placement as it's required in engineering but as of internship is considered there is 1 year of compulsory internship that is required after 4.5 years of MBBS course. We are paid Rs. 30,000 per month which is one of the highest in the medical field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There are no proper facilities for sports and for organizing cultural events and fests. However, we manage in the space provided by our college. Labs and classrooms are considered decent. There are 5 associated hospitals. Hostel are 3 for boys and 2 for girls.
Faculty: Faculty members are excellent. They teach nicely. As we wish from a government medical college, it is much better compared to others. The clinical skills are developed by attending clinical postings. There are internal examinations and university examinations which are easy to pass.
Other: Events are held. We have cultural activities like Cobalt, Skies, sports, Chrysalis Research, and Panacea every year.

A good college for pursuing MBBS.
Placements: Every year, our college places around 250 students in the medical field. Our college recruits students to Victoria, Vani Vilas, Minto, Trauma Care Centre, and PMSSY hospitals. These hospitals have a high patient input, which is very helpful for students to learn from.
Infrastructure: The college provides good facilities such as labs, library, classrooms, and hostel. The hostel rooms are not too bad, but each room has three beds, which is a bit crowded. One of the problems with our hostel is bed bugs, which can be really disturbing. The food quality is quite good, and there is no canteen. The medical facilities and sports opportunities are all good.
Faculty: The teachers are good and knowledgeable. The classrooms have good infrastructure. The semester exams are not so difficult, but it depends on how well we students prepare for them. Although the teachers put in a lot of effort, it's ultimately up to us to study and score well.
Other: I chose this course because I always wanted to become a doctor. The best thing about our course is that it makes me a person who would save others' lives. Events and fests are conducted every year with all dedication and excitement.

We have a good patient inflow and a very popular college and hospital.
Placements: There are 250 students in each batch. Each student receives a fixed stipend of Rs. 30000 per month for their internship. The internship takes place at Victoria Hospital in Bangalore, where all students are required to serve as house surgeons. Completing this internship is mandatory for every student, as it is an integral part of our course. The internship period lasts for one year.
Infrastructure: The college offers Wi-Fi in the digital library. Cassrooms are spacious enough to accommodate 250 students. There are reading rooms available in both the college and the hostel. The library is located on the college campus, along with a digital library. There are three hostels for boys and one hostel for girls. The food quality is good, with mess charges of Rs. 4,000 per month. There are various sports and games available for students to participate in.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. This course is based on medical. There are 3-semester exams in a year and it is difficult because the syllabus is vast, almost every student passes the exam but achieving a high score is tough. There is one university exam at the end of the year which is very difficult as we have to cover a lot of syllabus.
Other: I chose this course because I want to become a doctor. There is no such improvement required for this course. There are 2 major events conducted in BMCRI 1st Kannada Habba and 2nd Cobalt Skies, well connected as it is in a popular area of Bangalore. Our college provides a scholarship facility.

Top State College, Better Exposure Than Some AIIMS.
Placements: The college has a total of 250 seats for the MBBS course. It is the top college in Karnataka, with students from various parts of India. The college offers well-equipped laboratories and a dissection hall with enough equipment for each and every student.
Infrastructure: There are 3 hostels for boys and 2 for girls, with healthy food at a minimal cost. The hostels are very near to the college. The college has 8 floors with various labs and air-conditioned classrooms, well-equipped with projectors and speakers, a sports room, and various clubs like music, sports, social, etc.
Faculty: The faculty here is top, and their teaching and guidance are very helpful. They are very experienced and strict in terms of academics. The teachers here see each and every student's performance and guide them to the right path. The college assigns mentors to every student for any kind of problems they face.
Other: Overall, the college is a complete package with good academics as well as a stunning campus life. It has 5 hospitals attached to it, which help students to learn from patients and gain real-life experience during their studies.

Govt Medical College explained.
Placements: There are no placements in our college as almost everyone will choose to do postgraduate studies immediately after the course, and most of the doctors are employed and don’t need placements since we can open our clinics whenever and wherever we want. So, in MBBS, no placements are provided.
Infrastructure: The course and academic infrastructure are very good, but the hostel can be improved, especially the boys' hostel. We have very good hospitals associated with our college, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and there is a large patient crowd, which helps in learning.
Faculty: The faculty is great and understanding and helps us excel. The practicals are the best; we have three internals and one university exam per annum, which are pretty difficult to pass. The course provides adequate exposure to patients and helps in learning.
Other: The fests are great, and there are a lot of clubs.
