Positive Impact Rating For Business Schools Ranks Goa Institute Of Management AS One Of The Best Institutes Under Learning Methods Dimension
June 21, 2021: The Positive Impact Rating (PIR) is a student-led and student-run business school evaluation. PIR gives the student voice a global stage at a time when claims of social effect are on the rise. The number of participants in the second edition more than tripled. This high level of curiosity demonstrates that even in the event of a pandemic, students are concerned about the influence of their institutions.
PIR is a collection of case studies that highlight student-driven initiatives, tactics, and projects that serve as models for replication. Governance, culture, programming, learning, student support, school as a role model, and public participation are among the seven elements covered.
GIM - Goa Institute of Management is dedicated to developing transformative leaders who are devoted to ethical, accountable, and long-term business practices. The GIM actively contributes to bringing about revolutionary change and contributing to meeting the SDGs locally as a committed member of UN PRME, UN SDSN, and GBSN through teaching, research, and outreach efforts.
GIM has established GIVE GOA, a mandatory service-learning programme for future leaders that focuses on social impact and experiential learning. It is divided into two sections: Reflection and Action.
A module on Social Responsibility and Action (SRA) is included in the Reflection section, and it teaches students to ideas like empathy, inclusivity, reflexivity, and social effect. SRA allows students to interact with ideas and frameworks related to community activities, learn about systems thinking, and comprehend the business-society interaction. SRA allows students to interact with industry experts in order to gain a better understanding of the practical challenges of integrating SDGs into business and society, as well as the importance and value of a circular economy.
Students can immerse themselves in the community, connect with residents, and collaborate with them to enhance their quality of life or public service delivery in the Action section. The projects that are being conducted are in line with the SDGs. They inspire GIM students to work on making a difference in their communities.
The GIM is a firm believer in lifelong learning. It gives students, teachers, and staff the opportunity to learn more about sustainability challenges and to practice responsible production and consumption both inside and outside of GIM.
