Yes, it s a good colleges in the country. In QS World Ranking 2024, IIT Dhanbad is ranked 73rd in Southern Asia and 301-350 in Asia. IIT Dhanbad has been ranked 17 in Engineering category and 42 in the Overall category by NIRF Ranking 2023. Moreover, Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institute is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Moreover, the avergae and median package offered during IIT Dhanbad placements 2024 stood at INR 20.79 LPA and INR 15.92 LPA, respectively. Moreover, a total of 547 job offers were made.

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 4270 and closing rank was 4710. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 1774 and 9854. Admission to Integrated M.Tech. in Mathematics and Computing in IIT Dhanbad (ISM) is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced.
