IIT Guwahati BTech 2025 FAQs
To apply for the BTech programme at IIT Guwahati, candidates need to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. For BTech, applicants are required to first apply for JEE Main, followed by the JEE Advanced application process. To apply for JEE Main, candidates should follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit the official NTA website.
Step 2: Click on the "JEE Main 2024 Registration" link.
Step 3: Enter the required details and click on the "submit" button.
Step 4: Login and fill out the application form.
Step 5: Upload a scanned signature and a passport-size photograph.
Step 6: Pay the application fee and apply.
The JEE Advanced 2024 exam date is May 26. JEE Advanced 2024 will be conducted by IIT Madras. JEE Main 2024 qualified candidates who achieve rank among the top 2.5 Lacs candidates can apply for JEE Advanced exam. Also, candidates who appeared for JEE Main 2023 and have qualified for JEE Advanced, can apply for JEE Advanced 2024. Candidates can appear in JEE Advanced two consecutive times. JEE Advanced is held in CBT mode and there are 2 papers in all. Each paper has 3 sections: Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Candidates have to attempt both papers 1 and 2 to be eligible for admission to the IITs. The marking scheme and the distribution of the questions in the exam change every year.
The JoSAA 2024 registration process started on June 10, 2024. There will be five rounds of JoSAA counselling. JoSAA released Rounds 1 and 2 seat allocation results and cutoffs. Knowledge of JoSAA dates 2024 helps candidates keep a check on the major deadlines, like the last date of registration. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 607 and, 8400 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. So, considering the round 1 cutoff, candidates seeking admission to Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati must secure a maximum rank upto 8400.

The Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced 2025 application form has been released on April 23, 2025. Only those Indian candidates who secure JEE Main 2025 rank among the top 2.5 lakh candidates become eligible to fill the JEE Advanced application form. The application process is online and the form is available only on the official website. As the first step, every student needs to register through the official website by providing their JEE Main 2025 roll number, password, and security pin. As the second step, students have to enter various personal details like their name, parents’ name, communication details, address details etc. in the specific columns of JEE Advanced 2025 application form. The details entered in the application form must be accurate as the incorrect details may lead to the cancellation of candidature at later stages. Students will also need to enter their choices of exam centres while filling out the application form. Apart from the details, students will also need to upload scanned images of their passport-size photographs and signature.
