The GATE COAP counselling 2025 offers window for Round 10 is now open for admission to ME/MTech courses. Candidates allotted seats in this round must log in to the official COAP portal and choose either the "Accept and Freeze" or "Reject" option to confirm their seat allotment by Jul 10, 2025 (up to 6 PM).

- The JoSAA Round 4 seat allotment result 2025 has been released for IIT Jammu admission to BE/BTech courses. Candidates who have been allocated seats in this round must pay the required fee and upload the required documents online by Jul 9, 2025. The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Jammu has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for BTech under General category for all India quota was 13048. In 2023, it increased to 14589. Likewise, the cut off ranks have increased from 4903 to 4906 for OBC, 2398 to 2660 for SC, 1128 to 1212 for ST, 2085 to 2487 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for Engineering education in India continues to grow. Yes, while applying for the MTech programme at IIT Jammu, a student has to first register compulsorily on COAP portal. It is also mandatory for all candidates with valid GATE score to register at COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) and use the COAP registration number while filling the application form of IIT Jammu. Admission to the BTech course offered at IIIT Guwahati is entrance-based. Students need to appear and clear JEE Main exam to secure their seat at the institute. JEE Main 2025 application fee is INR 1000 for unreserved category students and INR 800 for reserved category and female candidates. The application fee per department is INR 300 for General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC category and INR 200 for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates. This amount is completely non-refundable. Candidates can deposit the requisite application fee by using net banking or debit/credit card facilities. Additional charges are applicable as per the rule of the concerned bank. The fee is, however, not accepted through any other mode.
The total tuition fee for IIT Jammu is INR 8 lakh. Other than the tuition fee, students have to pay other one-time charges and those who opt for hostel facilities are required to pay an extra amount for it. To answer the second question of whether IIT Jammu BTech fee is expensive or not, the fee for all IITs is almost similar to each other. However, it is comparatively less than other top BTech colleges such as BITS where the BTech tuition fee goes up till INR 19 lakh.
The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Mathematics and Computing is 7855 which is very close to this range. This was for General category under All India quota. Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Jammu are expected to appear in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. Getting admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, however, is not possible. For MTech, admission is subject to GATE score followed by COAP counselling. The admission cycle for MTech commences at IIT Jammu with GATE registrations. Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has extended the GATE 2025 applucation submission date with extended fees till Oct 11, 2024 (11:59 pm). Aspirants shall ensure that they submit their forms on or before the prescribed deadline to become eligible to sit for the entrance examination.

The schedule of JEE Main counselling will be declared by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority after the declaration of the JEE Main result. The counselling will be conducted tentatively in the months of June and July. There will be a total of six rounds of counselling and seat allotment which will be conducted by JOSAA. Students who will appear in JEE Main 2024 and will obtain a valid score will be eligible to participate in the JEE Main counselling for admission to NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs including IIT Jammu.
The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, closing rank was 10,005 in 2024. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, closing rank for female candidates was 18,177. Admission to B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering in IIT Kanpur is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.
Candidates willing to be admitted to any of the programmes offered at IIT Jammu must fill out the application for the prescribed entrance exams based on which they will be selected for further IIT Jammu admission process. Students applying through JEE Main must follow the application process mentioned below:

The total seats available for all BTech branches combined are 280 seats. This intake is incluseive of the Gender Neutral and Female-only (including Supernumerary) pools and is inclusive of all student categories, such as Open, Open-PwD, GEN-EWS, GEN-EWS-PwD, SC, SC-PWD, ST and ST-PWD, among others. Candidates are offered seat in IIT Jammu BTech course based on JEE Advanced score.
No, JEE Main 2024 dates for admission to IIT Jammu are not out yet. It is expected that JEE Main 2024 notification will be released in the first week of December.
