IIT Kanpur BTech Admission 2022: Eligibility and Selection

IIT Kanpur BTech admission is completely entrance and counselling based. So, to be eligible for admission to IIT Kanpur for BTech, aspirants must fulfill the eligibility and selection mentioned below:

• Eligibility: Must have completed Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate in PCM + Born on/ after October 1, 1997 (Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PwD category, i.e., they should be born on/ after October 1, 1992)
• Selection: JEE Main + JEE Advanced + JoSAA Counselling

IIT Kanpur BTech Dual Degree Programme Combinations

IIT Kanpur also offers an option of dual degree, i.e., Bachelors-Masters Dual Degree to the students. A student earns both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at the end of this five-year course. The dual degree programme has three categories:

• Category A: In this case, both degrees are in the same discipline/department. Example: BTech-M Tech.
• Category B: This is a two discipline/ department programme where the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is in a different discipline/ department. Thus, three combinations are possible in this category, ex: BTech-M Tech, BTech-MS, BTech-MDes. Students can choose any one of the aforementioned combinations. 
• Category C: In this case, the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is MBA. Ex: BTech-MBA.

IIT Kanpur BTech Application Process 2022

In order to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT Kanpur, candidates are required to apply via JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. The process of applying for JEE Mains 2022 consists of three steps, i.e, registration, form filling & documents upload followed by payment of application fees.

Step 1: Open the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in) and click on the ‘Registration for JEE (Main) 2022’ link.

Step 2: Fill the registration form with the required information followed by clicking on the submit button.

Step 3: Fill the detailed application form and upload scanned images and documents.

Step 4: Pay the application fees.

• Academic details related to the Class 10 and Class 12 qualifying exams

IIT Kanpur BTech placements 2021-22 Phase 1 process 2021-22 concluded on December 15. At the end of Phase-I, more than 80% students have been placed, out of which, about 69 % are undergraduates.
