The GATE COAP counselling 2025 has now concluded with the release of Round 10 seat allotment offers for admission to ME/MTech courses. The GATE 2026 registration is anticipated to begin in the fourth week of August 2025.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JoSAA 2025 Final Round seat allocation results have been published for IIT Kanpur admission admission to BE/BTech courses. Candidates allocated seats in this final round must complete online reporting, including payment of the required fee and uploading the necessary documents by Jul 20, 2025 (until 5 PM).
- The IIT JAM 2025 counselling process has ended with the release of the Round 4 admission list for admission to the MSc course. The IIT JAM 2026 application form is expected to be available in the first week of Sept 2025.
- The CEED 2026 application form for IIT Kanpur admission to the M.Des course is expected to be released in the first week of Oct 2025.

No, IIT Kanpur only offers merit-based admission for all the courses. It accepts JEE Advanced scores for admission to BTech. Candidates are required to qualify JEE Main exam prior to appearing for JEE Advanced. The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Biological Science and Bioengineering is 8031 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Kanpur.
The total fee for the four-year BS programme of IIT Kanpur is INR 8 lakh. This is inclusive of the one-time admission and caution deposits but is not inclusive of the hostel fee. However, this fee is sourced from unofficial sources. Hence, is indicative. For the exact fee, students can reach out to the admission office. Other than this, students are required to pay the JEE Main application fee which is INR 625 (for boys) and INR 325 (for girls). For JEE Advanced, the application fee ranges from INR 1,400 to INR 2,800 for different category students.

The JoSAA 2025 counselling choice filling is now over. As the choice filling window is closed, candidates are no longer allowed to edit their choice list. This means they cannot change the order of selected choices, add new courses, or delete any courses from the list after the deadline.

NTA announced JEE Main 2024 dates. NTA coducted the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions. Admission to the BTech programme at IIT Kanpur is entrance exam-based, i.e., based on JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced scores. You can join BE via direct second? year lateral entry if you hold a Diploma or BSc with required marks—no MHT CET or JEE needed. But to enter the first year, Maharashtra students need MHT CET scores, and outside students must have JEE Main scores.

Yes, you can get in without an Andhra Pradesh EAMCET rank under the Management Quota (Category B). This means that you can get in based on your 10+2 exam scores (at least 50% in PCM) or other accepted qualifications. This is true for about 30% of the seats. The other 70% are for people who have pass
