Additionally, the Round 5 seat allocation result will be announced on Jul 11, 2025.
- The IIT JAM 2025 counselling process has concluded for admission to the MSc course with the release of the Round 4 admission list. Candidates selected for admission can download their IIT JAM 2025 offer letters from the official candidate portal on Jul 9, 2025.

No, IIT Kanpur only offers merit-based admission for all the courses. It accepts JEE Advanced scores for admission to BTech. IIT Kanpur JAM Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 2. The most competitive course was M.Sc in Statistics, with the Cutoff of 63. For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff stood at 187, for M.Sc in Statistics.
If the Cutoff rank is more than 63, there is no scope of admission to IITs for M.Sc in Statistics.
IIT Kanpur MBA total tuition fee ranges between INR 2.8 Lacs and INR 13.1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. The fee excludes admission fee, security deposits, semester fee and hostel charges. The closing rank of round one for the IIT Kanpur BSc Economics course for the year 2023 through the JEE Advanced was 3,242 while on another hand the closing rank of last round for the BSc Economics course was 3,653.
The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Kanpur has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for BTech under General category for all India quota was 4649. In 2023, it decreased to 4344. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 2034 to 2208 for OBC, 1281 to 1139 for SC, 678 to 706 for ST, 762 to 758 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
JoSAA 2025 counselling choice filling last date is June 12. Note that, once the JoSAA choice filling window closes candidates will not be allowed to edit the choice list. This means candidates will not be able to change the order of the selected choices or add any more course in or delete any course from the choice list after the deadline for choice filling.
A valid GATE score is required for admission to the M.Tech programme in the case of regular (non-sponsored) candidates. The requirement of GATE score is waived off for the candidates with MBBS degree as well as for the BTech graduates from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in BTech. Additionally, A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (four-year programme) or a master's degree in Science with marks/ CPI not below the specified minimum is required for M.Tech admission.

NTA announced JEE Main 2024 dates. NTA coducted the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions. Admission to the BTech programme at IIT Kanpur is entrance exam-based, i.e., based on JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced scores. Yes, you can get in without an Andhra Pradesh EAMCET rank under the Management Quota (Category B). This means that you can get in based on your 10+2 exam scores (at least 50% in PCM) or other accepted qualifications. This is true for about 30% of the seats. Yes, you can. If you didn't take MHT CET, no worries — your JEE Main or even ICAR AIEEA score can help you out too. Just be sure to apply through the DTE Maharashtra CAP counselling process. You need the eligibility and a score in either of these exams.
