AAT 2024 dates have been announced online. The authorities will release the AAT 2024 application form online at jeeadv.ac.in on June 9, 2024, (10 AM). The final date to submit the application form of JEE Advanced AAT 2024 is June 10, 2024 (5 PM). No separate admit card will be released for AAT 2024. Candidates will be required to present their JEE Advanced 2024 admit card at the centres to attempt the examination. JEE Advanced AAT 2024 will be held on June 12, 2024, as a pen-and-paper-based test of 3 hours and the candidates will be evaluated on their knowledge in General Knowledge, Geometry Drawing, 3D Aspects, Freehand Drawing, Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity. AAT 2024 result will be announced on June 15, 2024. Qualified candidates will be eligible for BArch admissions into IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Varanasi. Read to know more about AAT 2024.

What is AAT?

The Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) is conducted every year for the candidates who wish to take admitted to the BArch programme offered by the IIT Kharagpur, IIT Varanasi and IIT Roorkee. One of the most important eligibility for appearing in the AAT is to qualify JEE Advanced. However, it is important for every candidate to note that admission to undergraduate architecture courses will not be as on AAT rank or score rather it will be based on the candidate’s rank in JEE Advanced.

AAT 2024 Application Form

The authorities will release the AAT 2024 application form online on June 9, 2024. All eligible candidates will have to fill out and submit the JEE Advanced AAT 2024 application form until the final date i.e., June 10, 2024. During the AAT 2024 application process, the candidates will have to register, check the displayed details and select their choice of exam centre from the available list. If the candidates do not submit the application form before the final date, then they will not be allowed to attempt the examination.

AAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates were advised to check the AAT eligibility 2024 before applying for the examination. The criteria have been listed below for the candidate's reference:

  • Candidates should have qualified JEE Advanced 2024.
  • Along with securing a valid rank in JEE Advanced, the candidates should also meet the basic academic eligibility criteria of the examination. 

Q:   Which credentials are required for AAT registration?

A:

For AAT registration, the candidates will have to visit the official website at jeeadv.ac.in and click on the registration link. The candidates will have to log in using their JEE Advanced registration number and date of birth. The details have to be similar to their JEE Advanced registration Only those candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced will be eligible for AAT. Once the candidates are logged in, the candidates will have to also check the other details that was submitted during JEE Advanced.

 

Q:   I made a mistake in my AAT application form. Can I make the changes?

A:

No. The candidates will not be able to make any changes once the AAT application form is submitted. Since the authorities provide less time for the candidates to complete the AAT registration, they are advised to carefully and quickly complete the process so that they are registered for the entrance examination. No correction facility will be provided. In case of any mistakes or problems in the AAT application form, the candidates are advised to immediately contact the authorities.

 

Q:   Will I be able to select my choice of centre during the AAT application process?

A:

Yes. During the AAT registration process, the candidates will be able to select their choice of exam centre. Once the candidates are logged in, the candidates will have to select their choice of exam centre from the available list. It is to be noted that the selection of centre has to be done in the order of preference. Since the exam centre allotment will be done based on the candidate's preferences and availability, the candidates are advised ot be careful.

 

AAT 2024 Syllabus

IIT Madras has released the official AAT 2024 syllabus online at jeeadv.ac.in. Through the AAT syllabus 2024, the candidates can check the list of topics that are required to be studied for the entrance exam. Candidates are advised to check the syllabus carefully to plan out their preparation process and have a higher chance of securing good marks in the entrance examination. AAT syllabus consists of topics that will assess the candidate's freehand drawing, geometrical drawing, three-dimensional perception, architectural awareness, imagination and aesthetic sensitivity.

Q:   Where can I check the AAT syllabus?

A:

AAT syllabus will be prepared and released online by the authorities online at jeeadv.ac.in. No other mode will be used to release the AAT syllabus. Candidates will be able to check the topics and concepts that they will have to prepare for the examination through the syllabus of AAT. All candidates are advised to check the official syllabus carefully before commencing their preparation so that they are able to plan out their studies accordingly.

 

Q:   Do I have to study the entire AAT syllabus?

A:

Yes. Candidates are advised to study and prepare the entire AAT syllabus. Since the question paper will be prepared based on the official syllabus of AAT, it will be helpful to the candidates if they are familiar with the entire syllabus. Being familiar with the syllabus will also allow the candidates to plan out their preparation and be aware of the kind of questions that may appear in the examination.

 

Q:   Which topics do I have to study in the AAT syllabus?

A:

The list of topics and concepts that the candidates will have to prepare for the entrance examination will be available through the AAT syllabus. The syllabus has been prepared so that the candidates are assessed for their knowledge in Freehand Drawing, Geometrical Drawing, Three-Dimensional Perception, Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity and Architectural Awareness. Therefore, the topics are picked accordingly so that the candidates are assessed well for the exam.

 

AAT 2024 Exam Pattern

The authorities are expected to release the AAT 2024 exam pattern soon. Candidates will be able to check the details on how the entrance examination will be conducted through the AAT exam pattern 2024. According to the AAT exam pattern, the authorities will conduct the examination as a pen-and-paper-based test. The total duration of the examination is 3 hours. The detailed marking scheme of the questions will be present in the AAT 2024 question paper.

Q:   What is the duration of AAT?

A:

As per the official AAT exam pattern, the duration of the entrance examination is 3 hours. During the examination, the candidates will have to attempt 16 questions. No extra time will be provided to the candidates to complete the examination. There is no sectional duration for the examination. All of the questions have to attempted and completed before the examination. 

 

Q:   Is AAT a computer-based test?

A:

No. The authorities will conduct AAT offline i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test. The candidates will have to attempt the examination offline by marking the answers in the OMR sheet or drawing the answers. No other mode will be used to conduct AAT. The examination will be prepared to assess the candidate's General Knowledge,  Geometry Drawing,  3D Aspects,  Freehand Drawing and Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity.

 

Q:   What is the division of questions in AAT exam pattern?

A:

AAT paper is divided into five sections. The total number of questions available in the paper will be different for every section. For Geometry Drawing, 3D Aspects, Freehand Drawing and Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity, there will be 3 questions in each section. However, for the General Knowledge section, the candidates will have to answer 4 questions. The total number of questions in the AAT paper are 16 questions.

 

AAT 2024 Preparation Tips

Some of the important preparation tips for AAT 2024 have been given below.

  • Firstly, the candidates are advised to know their syllabus and exam pattern of AAT 2024 well. This will help them to know what has to be studied and how the examination will be conducted.
  • A personalized timetable has to be prepared so that the candidates are able to cover the entire syllabus well before the examination.
  • Mock tests have to be conducted regularly so that the candidates understand their commonly made mistakes and work on them.
  • Revision has to be done in order to not forget whatever has been studied by the candidates.

AAT 2024 Admit Card

The authorities will not release the AAT admit card 2024. Candidates will be required to present their JEE Advanced 2024 admit card at the examination centre. Without the admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre. Details regarding the allotted exam centre and other instructions will be given to the candidates separately. JEE Advanced 2024 admit card will be released on May 17, 2024.

Q:   Will AAT admit card be released?

A:

No. The authorities will not release AAT admit card. The candidates will have to present their JEE Advanced admit card at the examination centre. Therefore, the candidates are advised to keep their JEE Advanced admit card carefully since it will be required during the AAT admission process. If the candidates are not able to present the admit card and identity proof to the authorities at the centre, then they will not be allowed to attempt the examination.

 

Q:   What do I have to carry to the AAT exam centre?

A:

While reporting at the AAT exam centre, the candidates will have to carry their JEE Advanced admit card. Along with the admit card, the candidates will also have to present their photo identity proof to the invigilators. In case the candidates are not able to present their JEE Advanced admit card and identity proof, then they will not be allowed to attempt the examination. Therefore, the candidates are advised to read the guidelines carefully before reporting to the exam centre.

 

Q:   When will the JEE Advanced admit card for the coming session be released?

A:

The JEE Advanced admit card for the coming 2024 sesison will be out a few days before the exam. The exam is expected to be held on June 2, 2024. Hence the admit card will be available in the last week of May 2024, tentatively. The conducting IIT will release JEE Advanced admit card under the respective logins of the registered candidates at jeeadv.ac.in. To login, candidates have to use their JEE Advanced 2024 registration number, password and registered mobile number. The JEE Advanced admit card 2024 will be available for download until exam day. The exam date, time, reporting time, exam centre venue and all important instructions for exam day will be mentioned on the JEE Advanced 2024 admit card.

AAT 2024 Result

AAT 2024 result date has been announced. The authorities will release the AAT result 2024 online on June 15, 2024, online at jeeadv.ac.in. Through the result of AAT 2024, the candidates will be able to check their qualifying status for the examination. For future reference, the candidates are advised to download and print out the AAT result.

Q:   Where can I access the AAT result?

A:

AAT result will be released online at jeeadv.ac.in. No other mode will be used to declare the result of AAT. To access the AAT result, the candidates will have to provide their JEE Advanced registration number, date of birth and mobile number. After logging in, the candidates will be able to check the qualifying status for the counselling and admission process. No scores will be provided in the AAT result.

Q:   Which details will be available in the AAT result?

A:

Through the AAT result, the candidates will be able to check important information relevant for their counselling and admission process. Along with personal details, the result of AAT will consist of the candidate's registration number, category and examination qualifying status. The scores obtained in the entrance examination will not be provided in the AAT result. Only the qualifying status is required for BArch admissions into the participating IITs.

 

Q:   Will my AAT scores be considered for BArch admissions into IITs?

A:

No. AAT scores will not be considered for BArch admissions into IITs. The candidates are just required to qualify AAT to be eligible for admissions. During the allotment process, the candidate's qualifying status in AAT and JEE Advanced ranks will be taken into consideration by the authorities. Therefore, the candidates are required to accordingly submit their choice of colleges for BArch admissions during the counselling process.

 

AAT 2024 Counselling

Candidates who qualify AAT 2024 will have to participate in the JoSAA 2024 counselling and seat allotment process. During the process, the candidates will have to register and fill in their choice of colleges and courses. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and availability of seats. After the allotment is announced, the candidates will have to complete the admission process within the given timeline.

BArch Course at IITs

AAT is conducted for admission to BArch courses conducted by IIT Varanasi, IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur. For admission to architecture in any of the three IITs, candidates must qualify JEE Main then JEE Advanced and then AAT 2024. Q:   When will AAT 2024 be held?

A:

The authorities will conduct AAT 2024 on June 12. The entrance examination will be held from 9 AM to 12 Noon for all eligible and registered candidates.
