- The JoSAA 2025 Final Round seat allocation results have been published for IIT Mandi admission admission to BE/BTech courses. Candidates allocated seats in this final round must complete online reporting, including payment of the required fee and uploading the necessary documents by Jul 20, 2025 (until 5 PM).
- The IIT JAM 2025 counselling process has ended with the release of the Round 4 admission list for admission to the MSc course. The IIT JAM 2026 application form is expected to be available in the first week of Sept 2025.

IIT Mandi admission process includes the application process, selection round, cutoff, merit list and counselling. The application and selection process varies for different programmes at the institute. Selection to the majority of the programmes is entrance-based, but few courses, such as MA admission are done based on merit, written tests, and personal interviews. The step-wise admission process for IIT Mandi undergraduate & postgraduate courses is given below:
Step 1: IIT Mandi Application Process
Candidates seeking admission at IIT Mandi are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. For example, for BTech, candidates are required to apply for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. Similarly, for MTech admission, candidates have to register for GATE first. The qualifying candidates have to further apply for the COAP counselling process.
Step 2: Selection Rounds
UG Admission: IIT Mandi admits students to BTech courses based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced candidate's scores. Candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech, BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) and BS courses.
PG Admission: Admission to MTech is through GATE followed by COAP Counselling. Further, the institute also conducts its in-house exam for admission to MA courses. Candidates can check with the admission office for the selection rounds of the rest of the courses.
- For the MTech courses, the GATE score is exempted for candidates if they graduating/ graduated from IITs with a BTech degree and have a CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) are exempted from the GATE score.

IIT Mandi cutoff for BTech and MTech courses is released by the respective counselling bodies. IIT Mandi offers a full-time Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programme with a duration of four years. According to the placement statistics, the highest placement for IIT Ropar was INR 50 LPA whereas for IIT Mandi it is INR 60 LPA. Candidates who have qualified for the award of a three/ four-year bachelor's degree (BA, BSc, BTech or equivalent), after Class 12 or equivalent schooling, from a recognised university or institute with at least 55% aggregate (or 6.0 CGPA on a scale 10) are eligible to apply for MA programme. Aspirants further must have the relevant documents at the time of admission for verification.
