The NEST 2024 application process for the academic session 2024-2025 is over.

NISER and UM-DAE CEBS which is the exam conducting body of the NEST 2024 exam opened the window for correction in the NEST application form. Students can do it between June 12 to 14, 2024. Earlier authorities extended the registration date. Applicants who wanted to appear in the NEST exam could do it till June 3, 2024. Earlier the registration could be done till May 31, 2024

The NEST 2024 Registration was started on April 3, 2024. Applicants applying for NEST 2024 must check the eligibility criteria before filling out the form. By knowing the NEST important dates for application are updated on this page, students can check and accordingly plan to fill the application within time.  

Earlier the exam conducting authorities released the NEST 2024 application form online on the official website. Earlier NEST exam notification was released by NISER and UM-DAE CEBS on March 10, 2024, in online mode.

Note: NEST Application fees have been revised this year from INR 1200 to 1400 and INR 600 to 700

This year NEST 2024 exam was held on June 30, 2024 for a total of 257 seats, out of them 200 for NISER and 57 for UMDAE CEBS respectively. 

Candidates will have to fill out and submit the application form for NEST 2024 within time. To participate in the entrance exam, candidates needed to complete the NEST 2024 application process which will includes registration, form filling, uploading documents, and paying of application fee.

Candidates will have to make payment of NEST Application form 2024 fees as INR 1,400 from General and OBC categories, and INR 700 If belong to SC/ ST/ PWD/ Specially-abled and women candidates categories after doing the registeration.

Q:   Is NEST 2024 registration date extended?

Yes, the authorities extended the last date to apply online for NEST 2024 exam. Earlier the last date for NEST 2024 registration was May 31, 2024, but now applicants can fill the online form till June 3, 2024. 

After the NEST 2024 registration is over, students will be able to make the correction.

The NEST 2024 eligibility criteria is defined on both basis age wise as well education wise.

Admissions in NISER, Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai are done based on a candidate's score in the NEST exam. Candidates who have passed Class XII from the Science stream are eligible to apply for the NEST exam. 

Candidates should pass Class XII in Science stream from a recognised board in India with at least 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates). Candidates should have passed Class XII either last year or will pass this year.

  Step 1: Visit the official website of NEST 2024

Candidates will have to visit the official website of the NEST exam admissions 2024. The entire application process for NEST 2024 would be conducted online only. Here, candidates need to click on the 'Online Application' button and create their login credentials. Some important points that aspirants needed to keep in mind when filling NEST 2024 application form are mentioned below:

  1. Do not use the tab key to move between fields for entry of data. Use a mouse instead.

  2. Fields marked with the sign * are mandatory.

  3. After details have been filled then click on the 'Register' button to proceed.

  4. After successfully completing the registration process, aspirants will receive their User ID and Password on their registered mobile number and email ID.

Step 2: Register for NEST 2024

Candidates are supposed to first register for the NEST exam on the official website of the exam. The NEST 2024 registeration are provided by the below-mentioned details:

  • Full name

  • Gender

  • Date of birth

  • Mobile number

  • Class 10 Roll Number/Registration Number

Once all the details are filled in, applicants have to click on the ‘Register’ button. Upon doing this, an email and SMS would be sent to the candidate's registered email ID and mobile number, respectively. The SMS would contain details such as the login ID and password for the NEST application form.

Step 3: Fill Details in NEST Online Form

After candidates who successfully register for the NEST exam, they need to click on the verification link sent on their registered email ID. Once candidates do this they will be further redirected to the official website of the exam wherein they have to log in using the credentials mentioned in the email sent to them by exam authorities. Thereafter, candidates would need to enter the below-mentioned details in their NEST 2024 application form:

  • Nationality

  • Category

  • Address (permanent and present)

  • Parents' name

  • NEST exam centre (up to five cities on preference basis)

  • Educational qualification

  • Percentage/Aggregate marks obtained in qualifying exam

Step 4: Upload important documents

Candidates then need to upload the required documents with their NEST 2024 online form. Documents that will be uploaded with the application form includes:

  • Class 10 mark sheet/ report card/ certificate

  • Class 12 mark sheet/ report card/ certificate

  • Digital copy of the photograph

  • Scanned signature

Step 5: Pay NEST 2024 Application Fee

 After the documents were being uploaded, candidates were now supposed to pay the application fee for the NEST online on the official website of the exam. Candidates could pay the NEST 2024 exam fee via Netbanking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card.

Step 6: Take the print of the NEST 2024 Registration Form

Once the process will be completed and the fee will be successfully paid, candidates need to verify all the information and submit their application form. A summary page would then be generated where an option would come to take out a print of the NEST 2024 online form. Q:   How many exam centres need to be filled while filling the NEST 2024 application form?

Applicants are advised to fill the exam centres while filling the application form of NEST exam. There will be around 120 NEST exam centres mentioned in the official notification. Students who want to apply and participate in the NEST exam must fill the 5 exam centres of their preferred choice from that list. 

The exam conducting authorities will release the admit card atleast 10 days before the exam which will include the allotted NEST exam centre to the applicants.

The eligibility criteria play a vital role in filling the application form for the NEST exam. There are different eligibility details both age-wise as well and education-wise.

General and OBC category candidates born on or after August 1, 2004 are eligible for admission to the Integrated MSc programme of NISER/CEBS. The age limit is relaxed by five years for SC / ST / Divyangjan candidates. 

Subjects

Applicants should have Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as mandatory subjects in 12th standard.

Minimum aggregate in 12 Class

General category candidates must secure at least 60 percent marks in aggregate or equivalent grade 

For candidates belonging to scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST) and Divyangjan categories must have 55 percent in aggregate or equivalent grade in class 12 examination.

Students become elligible to appear for the exam if they satisy all four criteria.

(a) Secures a position in the NEST merit list. Please refer to official broucher for the rules of merit list preparation.
(b) Passed the XII standard board examination in the science stream in the years 2022 or 2023 or has appeared in 2024 from any recognised Higher Secondary Education Board in India.
(c) Secure the passing percentage marks as per their category. 
(d) Born on or after August 01, 2004. The age limit is relaxed by five years for SC/ST/Divyangjan students.

NEST 2024 Application Correction Window

Applicants can check the NEST exam 2024 registration date as well as the application correction window date in the official notification and accordingly fill the form. The online correction window will be opened after the form is filled according to NEST 2024 important dates.

Q:   How NEST Test Centres are allotted?

A:

The test centres of NEST exam will be allotted on the basis of number of applicants opting for a particular test city/town. It is to be noted that NEST 2024 committee reserves the right to cancel or add any of the test cities without prior notice to applicants.

The final allocation of NEST Test Centres will be mentioned on the admit card, Applicants can not make any request to change the address or venue in it once it is decided. 

 

Q:   What is the minimum score to qualify for each section of the NEST exam?

A:

The exam authority has not mentioned any section-wise cut off marks for the NEST exam. Hence there is no minimum qualifying or passing marks in the exam. 

However, out of the four sections - the best three scores of the subject section i.e. Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be taken for preparation of the merit list.

Hence applicants need to try to solve the questions from all four sections as the section from which applicants will score less will be ommiited and will not be consideration for preparing the merit list. 

 

Q:   When will NEST 2024 application process starting?

A:

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2024 application form date has been announced on March 10, 2024. The NEST application process has been started done from April 3, 2024 to May 31, 2024.

NEST 2024 registration process will be completely online. Aspirants who will be appearing for the examination are advised to check the eligibility criteria conscientiously before applying for the application form. The online application window is expected to remain open for a period of a month or so. The application fee for nest will be paid online, through Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking or UPI.

 

Q:   If I'm unable to upload my passport-size photograph while filling out the application form for NEST then What should I do?

A:

While filling the NEST 2024 online form, candidates need to ensure that they uploaded the photograph in the format prescribed by exam authorities. The digital photograph uploaded by candidates need to be in JPEG format and should not have exceeded 80 KB. 

If all the image specifications are correct then also applicants need to check their internet failing which their registration process can be cancelled.
