To apply for the NIT Warangal MTech course, candidates must apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering also known as GATE. NIT Warangal admits students on the basis of candidates' performance in the GATE entrance test. The final selection is based on CCMT counselling process. NIT Warangal cutoff 2024 has been concluded for Round 6 has been released for BTech courses in the form of opening and closing ranks. In 2022, the cutoff ranks for BTech in Mechanical Engineering at NIT Warangal other than General category were - 27127 for OBC, 68940 for SC, 976 for ST, 19714 for EWS, and 196789 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. Moreover, the cutoff also varies if the applicant is a female.

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2025 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. Candidates have the option of paying the application fee online through credit/debit card and internet banking. The application form will not be considered submitted until the application fees is paid.
