Integrated M.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2027

Strong academics, research-oriented program & great campus life at an affordable cost.
Placements: While placements for core science courses like M.Sc. Physics is relatively limited compared to engineering branches, but SVNIT still maintains decent records. For the last few batches, around 30-40% of students were placed through campus efforts or external referrals. The highest package offered was around 10-12 LPA (mainly for roles in data science/analytics or interdisciplinary positions), while the lowest was 3 LPA - 4 LPA, and the average package was around 5 LPA - 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: Academic infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with projectors and proper ventilation. Some have smart boards, and Wi-Fi is accessible in most teaching blocks. Labs are well-equipped for courses like optics, electronics, solid-state physics, and computational physics. Advanced research labs are available for students working on their M.Sc. Projects. Hostels are allotted based on year and program. M.Sc. Students are usually allotted holder hostels like B or C blocks, which are basic but functional.
Faculty: The faculty of the M.Sc. physics program at SVNIT is one of its strongest points. Most of the professors hold PhDs from reputed institutions like IITs, IISc, or foreign universities and are actively involved in research across domains such as condensed matter physics, nanotechnology, quantum mechanics, material science, and computational physics. Several of them regularly publish in peer-reviewed journals and also guide Ph.D. scholars, which directly benefits M.Sc. students during their project semesters.

It has a really good infrastructure.
Placements: Almost all students got placement offers in our course. The extremely high salary offered in our course is 18 LPA. The average package offered in our course is 8 LPA. 70-80% of students got internship offers in our course.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for our course are extremely good. Wi-Fi facility is available in the college. The library has a huge collection of good-quality textbooks. Sports facilities are good. The quality of the hostel is also good.
Faculty: Professors of our course are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their respective fields. The teaching quality of our faculty members is extremely good. The course curriculum is relevant. Students become ready for industry jobs. Semester examinations are quite tough.

Overall, average. College administration is very strict everywhere in college.
Placements: Last year's batch of 2025 around 69% placed, (the highest salary was 20.1 LPA by BPCL and the lowest was 5 LPA, and the average was around 10 LPA - 11 LPA). Top recruiters are Reliance Industries, AM/NS, Adani, BIS, Gensol, BPCL JSL, Mastercard, Accenture, Deloitte, TCS, Piramal Finance, etc.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi in the department, no AC in the classrooms, no table lift systems, and no drinking water facilities. The central library is very good, has AC, Wi-Fi, and other facilities. Every person knows the reality of hostels and their food, and other facilities.
Faculty: The EE department has a few good faculty members who are very well at teaching, qualified, and helpful towards students. Having an outdated curriculum and syllabus that contains useless subjects make students industry-ready. There is no fixed pattern to conduct semester exams. Again depends on the faculty members.
Other: I got this EE branch like everyone, got a random branch at the time of JOSAA counseling. Due to outdated curriculum and syllabus, this branch has become too hectic to handle. The improvement part is totally dependent on the administration of the college due to lack of student unity and power. The campus environment is average, and other things are below average.

My college is good in every manner.
Placements: Approximately 160 out of 200 got placed in my field, and the average salary was 6 LPA. Minimum salary was 2.5 LPA, and maximum salary was 18 LPA. Top recruiting companies were John Deere, AMNS India, and Vedanata. Internships like 40% of people got core branch work mainly.
Infrastructure: Facilities were good and infrastructure was also good for my course. Classroom was not that much comfortable but other than that everything was good. Hostel quality was superb and their food was also good. Medical facilities were also available.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful, they even helped a lot regarding doubts. Some teachers had good technical knowledge about their field. Course curriculum was relevant and it made the students ready for industry. Semester exam was moderate but checking was tough.
Other: I chose this course because I love machines. I also love that how they work and which kind of mechanism was there. Some technical knowledge needed to improve like in-depth need to take information. They arranged many events and extracurricular activities were very good
