B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2025
4.8

Great learning environment with good placement support.
Placements: Placements for EEE at SIT are good. Core companies like Alstom, Texas, TE Connectivity, etc. But most offers come from IT firms like TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, etc. Average package is around 3.5 LPA to 5 LPA. Placement training is good. 75% of students are offered in our branch. The highest package from our branch is 27 LPA from Texas Instruments.
Infrastructure: SIT College has a well-maintained campus with modern labs, smart classrooms, and a good library. EEE course is industry-relevant with helpful faculty members. Hostels are clean and secure, with Wi-Fi and mess facilities. Medical facilities are also good which are available in our college.
Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. The curriculum is regularly updated to match industry needs, with a good mixture of theory and practical. Exams are held on time and are moderately tough, encouraging consistent study. Internal tests help with preparation.
Other: I am pursuing B.E. in electrical and electronics engineering (EEE) at SIT, Tumakuru. I am part of the 2021-2025 batch. The course offers a solid foundation in electrical systems along with hands-on lab sessions and project work.

Good campus life with decent placements and facilities.
Placements: Placement from our department is average, but overall college placement is good. Around 60-70% of students got placed. The highest package is around 28 LPA, and the average is 3 LPA - 5 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, and Accenture visited the campus. Some students got internships too in service-based companies. Roles like developer, analyst, and support engineer are offered.
Infrastructure: Our department has decent infrastructure with good Wi-Fi, classrooms, and a library. Labs are available but can be improved. Campus has a canteen with decent food options. Sports and cultural activities are conducted regularly. Overall, the facilities are manageable for academic needs.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is decent, and they support students when needed. The curriculum is okay but not fully industry-oriented. A few subjects feel outdated. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and the pass percentage is generally good if you study well.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in the subject. Campus life is good, with friendly crowd and supportive seniors. College fests and events are fun and give a break from regular classes. Connectivity to campus is decent. More focus on practical learning and industry exposure would make the course better.

B.E. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2025
2.8
1Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Solid infrastructure and practical learning for civil engineers.
Placements: Approximately 65-70% of students from our batch got placed. Placement is slightly lower compared to CSE but decent if you are consistent academically. Recruiting companies are Larsen & Toubro, Shapoorji Pallonji, Afcons, Tata Projects, Godrej Construction, JSW Infrastructure, and a few design consultancies like Stantec and Arcadis.
Infrastructure: Civil engineering department is well-equipped with modern labs like geotechnical lab, concrete technology lab, structural analysis lab, and a material testing lab. AutoCAD and STAAD Pro software are taught in labs with decent systems. Wi-Fi is provided across the campus, but connectivity may drop in some areas. Hostel life is average to good. Rooms are shared (2 or 3 people), with adequate facilities like study tables, fans, common areas, and 24X7 water and electricity. The mess food is nutritious but lacks variety. Canteens offer snacks, and the medical center is accessible with emergency services.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced. Many have worked in research or real-time projects. They are helpful during lab sessions, site visits, and final-year project guidance. The curriculum covers key industry concepts such as structural analysis, surveying, RCC design, transportation, and environment engineering. It also includes basic software skills like AutoCAD and MS Project. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, but if you attend classes and complete labs seriously, you can pass easily. Pass percentage is around 85-90%. College conducts workshops, NPTEL sessions, and industrial site visits for practical exposure.
Other: I chose civil engineering due to my interest in infrastructure and sustainable development. I love how we get to apply practical knowledge through labs and site visits. However, I wish more core companies visited the campus and the college provided dedicated GATE coaching. Overall, its a fulfilling course.
