Q:   Who is eligible for Vivekananda College admission?
A:

Admission to all the Vivekananda College courses is entrance-based. While Vivekananda College accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, admission to all the PG programmes will be subject to the CUET- PG exam starting admission 2023. The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG starting 2022 and the CUET PG from 2023 session onward. Q:   How can I get admission in Vivekananda College?
A:

In 2022, Vivekananda College (like all DU affiliated colleges) adopted CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses. Vivekananda College admission 2023 for UG courses (as per DU) will be through Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. But, at first, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit Vivekananda College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard. Here student must select their preferred course and college as the option.

Step 3: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists which will be out on August 1, August 10 and August 22, 2023, respectively for all categories.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the Vivekananda College will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.

Step 5: Once Vivekananda College accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat.

Q:   Is there a way to apply to Vivekananda College offline?
A:

No, there is no offline method of application at Vivekananda College. All the candidates must apply through the centralised entrance exam's official website, i.e., the official websites of CUET UG and CUET PG exam. After the COVID years and after the introduction of CUET UG and CUET PG for admission to Vivekananda College and other DU-affiliated colleges, the application process has shifted full-time to the online mode. Candidates can register on the official websites of the respective exam, fill out the online application forms, pay the course-wise application fee and appear for the exam to become eligible. For final admission, shortlisted and pass-out students of CUET UG and CUET PG are required to register on the CSAS portal for final admission and seat allocation process.

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure: The college has a huge campus with a beautiful garden, a large library, and modern classrooms.
* Friendly and helpful faculty: Many students praised the faculty members for being supportive, knowledgeable, and approachable.
* Industry-ready curriculum: The course curriculum focuses on making students industry-ready, with a focus on developing problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
* Good location: The college is well-connected by public transport, with multiple metro lines nearby.

Cons:

* Limited placement opportunities: While the college claims to have a moderate placement record, many students reported struggling to find jobs after graduating.
* Low salaries: The starting salaries offered to students were reportedly low, ranging from INR15,000 to INR50,000 per month.
* No hostel facilities: Unfortunately, the college does not have on-campus accommodation options, which may be inconvenient for out-of-town students.
* Limited internships: Few companies visit the campus for internships, and the ones that do tend to offer limited opportunities.
* Poor laboratory conditions: Some students mentioned that the laboratories were still under construction during their time at the college, leading to inadequate practical training.

In conclusion, while Vivekananda College offers a good educational experience with supportive faculty and modern infrastructure, its limitations in terms of placement opportunities, salaries, and internship availability may deter some students. Faculty is great. It has good placements, and infrastructure needs to be upgraded in some aspects.
Placements: 60% of students from our batch got placements with the highest package of 10 LPA. Internships like vice-chancellor summer internships are offered in the college during the course duration itself. Entrepreneurs do come to seek employees in our college.
Infrastructure: The library and greenery are the best things in our college. The quality food is average though. The medical room needs some upgrades. Labs are well-maintained. Classes don't have AC. Classrooms are spacious and surrounded by a garden. Our college has a variety of trees and flowers.
Faculty: Teachers of the Mathematics department are so humble and generous. They teach by heart and have ample knowledge and clarity in their respective fields. Timely tests are conducted. Feedback mechanisms and tutorial sessions are really helpful. The pass percentage is around 97%.
Other: The college should organise more fests.

Good infrastructure and a place to explore co-curricular activities with multiple societies.
Placements: My college placement cell consists of multiple departments. They provide updates regarding the business world. The student coordinators and teachers both work together to bring multiple internship and job opportunities to students across departments. Jobs and internships are available in fields such as human resources management, sales management, banking, teaching, and language-related jobs.
Infrastructure: My college is known for its beauty and infrastructure. It has an air-ventilated structure. It represents the authentic red building of Delhi University with multiple departments including the Sanskrit department, labs, psychology department, music department, and many more.
Faculty: Teachers are very dedicated to their subjects, but the admin works a little slow. Many teachers are eager to teach their students new concepts, even beyond the syllabus. The admin department is a little slow and sometimes delays their work. The course curriculum is very relevant to the subject.

Life at Delhi University girl's college.
Placements: In my college, the placements were good in 2023. Almost 35% of students were placed. The lowest package was 2 lacs, and the highest was 3.2 lacs in the computer science department. The companies were TCS and Amazon. I got an internship at Amazon for three months, so overall it was good.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is quite good for our department, as all labs are fully air-conditioned, including the library. The college has a lawn tennis ground, a marathon track, an open stage, and an auditorium. There is a nearby bus stand and an e-rickshaw stand that drops you off at the metro station.
Faculty: The college faculty is good and cooperative and helps with studies and personal problems. The college societies are quite active; I am in the dance society. The exams occur as class tests, not fixed internal exams with a schedule. The crowd is average, not so good.

I am absolutely satisfied with it.
Placements: Vivekananda College is a women's college that offers various honors and program courses like Sanskrit, maths, history, political science, food, science, music, etc. Rare courses such as music and food technology honors are also provided. The majority of people go for CUET PG after this course. It is among the best off-campus DU colleges.
Infrastructure: We do not have Wi-Fi in our college, but labs have Wi-Fi. Libraries are really good with full of books. Classrooms are airy and spacious. The seating arrangement is good. There is no arrangement of hostels in our college. The canteen is good. The medical facilities provided are good. We have a huge sports complex attached to our college and running track. It has a huge garden, which is used for environmental studies purposes.
Faculty: Usually, teachers are helpful except a few. The quality and the knowledge of teachers is really good. All our teachers are PhD holders. The course curriculum is very relevant, and we usually have industry visits and practical fields such as food science, and several inter-college competitions are held. Semester exams are hard, but teachers provide sufficient notes. The pass percentage is something around 40-50%.

It is the best college.
Placements: Many students are placed in our course. Many students do internships on their own after college in their attendance companies. The roles we play and they offered in our course are to interact with other students and conduct our activities.
Infrastructure: The facilities available for our course are our lab, classroom, and the library for study, which helped very much. We don't have a hostel in our college, but we have a canteen in our college that is very good, and the food is also very good. In our college, there were more activities like sports, functions, as well and also medical facilities, which helped very much.
Faculty: Teachers are very kind and understanding, and they also teach us very well. The papers of the semester exam are not too tough, but it is kind a lengthy, and this time my semester percentage was like 59% or 60%. Not confirmed, but my mark out of 10 is 6.36.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to study psychology for myself as well as for everyone's future. The best thing about this course is that it makes you calm and understand everything calmly. A scholarship facility is available in our college. Events and festivals are not too good from my experience.

A glimpse of Vivekananda College, University of Delhi.
Placements: Last year the placement rate was 45% in the college. The top recruiter was Bank of America. The highest package was 4.2 Lacs per annum. Sales manager, customer relationship, and many more departments were available during the drive.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is okayish, not so good. The location of the college is good. There are many nearby cafes in Anand Vihar for students where they can chill. There is no college hostel available. Although you can opt for nearby PG, there are many available.
Faculty: The quality is just okayish because teachers are not student-friendly. There is a problem of attendance; you have to maintain 40 percent anyhow, otherwise you will not be allowed to give semester exams and the course curriculum is quite good; it's almost the subject of engineering or computer science.
Other: The area near the college is not safe for girls after 4 or 5 pm.
