Q:   How can I get admission into top engineering colleges in Mumbai?

A:

Candidates interested in pursuing a BTech course must meet the prerequisites established by the colleges. Candidates that meet the eligibility requirements may apply for the course. Check out the following common eligibility criteria for admission to BTech programs in Mumbai colleges:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 12 from a recognised board, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core courses (the pass percentage may vary amongst universities).
  • Admission is determined by merit, written exam, Group Discussion (GD), or Personal Interview (PI), and varies by college.

Q:   How many times can one appear for JEE Mains?

A:

Candidates can appear for a total 6 times in JEE Mains. The number of attempts is calculated from the year of passing class 12. For example, if a candidate have passed class 12 in 2023, he/she can appear in both attempts of 2023 as well of both attempts of JEE Main 2024 and 2025.

If a candidate opts not to appear in the exam in a year/session, that attempt will forfeit. For example if a candidate who passed class 12 in 2023 but did not appear in JEE Mains in 2023, he/she will have four attempts remaining in 2024 and 2025.

As candidates have a plenty of attempts (six), it is advised to prepare well for the exam and then appear in the exam. Appearing in the exam without proper preparation could effect the performance.

Q:   Is MHT CET syllabus similar to the syllabus of and Maharashtra board class 11 and 12?

A:

The MHT CET syllabus is similar to the class 11 and 12 syllabus of the Maharashtra board, but not identical. The MHT CET syllabus includes standard class 11 and 12 topics of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, but not all topics of class 11 are covered in the MHT CET syllabus whereas all topics of class 12 are included in the CET syllabus. Additionally, some topics may have slightly different emphases or weightages in the MHT CET syllabus compared to the Maharashtra board syllabus.

It's important to note that the MHT CET syllabus is set by the Maharashtra CET Cell, and the best way to verify the syllabus is to download it from the official website or the Shiksha page. It's also advisable to follow the NCERT textbooks as the base for studying the syllabus of MHT CET.

Q:   How many months are required to prepare for MHT CET exam?

A:

The time-period required to complete the MHT CET preparation varies. Every student has their own pace of study. Ideally, 3-month time is good enough for completing the MHT CET preparation. Students who have started preparing from class 11 or 12 can easily prepare for MHT CET in 6 months considering the topics of CET syllabus have already been studied in class 11 and 12.

MHT CET preparation is most effective with class 11 and 12 as almost 90-95 percent topics are similar in both exams. This way students can easily complete the entire MHT CET syllabus as well as syllabus of class 11 and 12. After the board exams, students get 2-3 month time where they can focus entirely on MHT CET.

Students who have started late for the MHT CET exam can make a 6-month plan where in the first three months they have to focus on revising the syllabus studied in class 11 and 12. In the next two months’ focus on solving questions of MHT CET and analyzing the mistakes being made, if any. The last one month should be focused on solving mock tests and MHT CET previous year question papers

Q:   What is the difficulty level of MHT CET?

A:

As per the Maharashtra CET Cell, the difficulty level of MHT CET is similar to JEE Main. The exam conducting authority has stated that the exam will be quite similar to JEE Main in terms of difficulty level. Additionally, the difficulty level of Biology has been at par with NEET UG exam.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the difficulty level of MHT CET is moderate to difficult, with a slight edge towards being on the harder side. However, it's important to note that the actual difficulty level may vary based on the individual candidate's preparation and familiarity with the exam pattern and syllabus.

Also, the syllabus of MHT CET is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. However, the questions asked in MHT CETs are tricky and required in-depth understanding of the subjects.
