IISc Bangalore has started the GATE application correction facility. In case any candidate wishes to make changes to the information filled in GATE 2024 application form, they can modify the details during the correction window.
Candidates must note they have to pay a fee for making changes in the GATE application form. The step-by-step guide for GATE application correction 2024 is given below.
Step 1: Visit the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in or click on the link above
Step 2: Click on the link that reads, ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS),’ appearing on the page
Step 3: Enter your credentials and log in
Step 4: Make corrections in the application form, as instructed.
Step 5: Click on submit button after making the required changes.

- A high-quality image of a candidate's photograph conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 200KB)

- Details of the valid Identity Document* (ID) (The same ID, in original, should be carried to the examination hall). Valid Identity Documents are Passport/ PAN card/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar-UID/ College ID/ Employee ID/ Driving License

How to fill GATE Application form 2024?
GATE 2024 application form is available online. The process of applying includes registration, filling out the online application form, uploading the required documents, and payment of the application fee. Take a look at the detailed GATE 2024 registration process below:
Step-1: Register on the GOAPS website
To begin with, aspirants are requested to visit - http://appsgate.iisc.ernet.in. It can also be accessed from the official website of the respective zonal GATE offices or the website of the GATE 2024 organising institute.
Note: GATE 2024 login to the GOAPS interface requires a password created by candidates. So, aspirants are requested to keep their password information safe and not disclose it to anyone.
Registration: Aspirants are required to register for the exam by providing a valid email address, mobile number, and a GOAPS password. All communications regarding GATE will be sent to the email address provided at the time of registration. One person will be allowed to register with one e-mail address. Candidates are also advised to give their mobile numbers for communications through SMS.
GOAPS Password: Aspirants need to choose a password during their registrations through GOAPS. This password must be remembered by the candidate along with the GOAPS Enrolment ID to log in to GOAPS. Students are recommended to choose a password that's hard to guess (it should not be the candidate’s name, date of birth, or any easy to guess a string of numbers or letters like 12345 or abcd).
GOAPS Enrollment ID: Once aspirants register for GATE 2024, an email containing the GOAPS Enrolment ID will be sent to the candidates on the email id provided.

Step 2: Fill the online application form for GATE 2024
To fill the GATE 2024 application form online, candidates are required to log in to the official website of GOAPS using their credentials. Once logged in, candidates will be able to fill the application form for GATE.
The GOAPS website allowed aspirants to enter data, "Save" a partially filled form, “Logout”, and resume the filling of the application form by logging in again. The GOAPS portal is self-explanatory and user-friendly. Aspirants can also avail online help about using GOAPS on its website.
Problems in GATE login to GOAPS – In case, aspirants forgot their user ID or password, they are required to follow the instructions on the GOPAS portal to retrieve them.
Details to be filled in GATE 2024 application form
- Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents' name, parents' mobile number, etc.). It is to be noted that the name of the candidate in the application form must be the same as that in the qualifying degree certificate (or) the certificate issued by the Head of the Department/Institute in which the candidate is pursuing his/her study. GATE 2024 scorecard will be issued as per the name entered in the application form. Prefix/title such as Mr/Shri/Dr/Mrs/Smt, etc. should NOT be used before the name.

Step 3: Pay GATE 2024 application fee
After filling out the online application form, candidates have to pay the GATE 2024 application fee. Details of the application fee and various payment options are given below. Please remember that the application fee is non-refundable.

Online Net-Banking Payment Details:
- On submitting the GATE 2024 application form, the website used to redirect to an online payment gateway page. Candidates need to choose the bank or mode of payment on this page, after which they are redirected to the website of the bank of their choice.
- Aspirants are required to pay the fee through net banking, or a debit card, or an e-challan.
- While trying to pay the fee, aspirants will be shown the fee amount and bank charges, and they have to confirm that the payment is for GATE 2024.
- After successful payment of the GATE 2024 application form, aspirants will be redirected to the GATE online application website.
- If a student comes across any difficulty (due to an internet connection or power failure, for example), and they are not sure whether the payment is processed or not, they need to login back to GOAPS and check the status of the payment. Students can also check the status with their bank.
- In case the fee amount is debited from a student's bank account and GOAPS does not acknowledge any fee payment, then the money will be credited back to the account within seven working days.
- In such a case, one may initiate a fresh payment using GOAPS even without waiting for the money to be credited back to the account, so that your application will be on time.
- Once the payment is successful, a unique “Fee Payment Number” will be generated that MUST be saved by the candidate, as it will be used in the later stages when he/she fills out the GATE 2024 Application form.
Important: Candidates should fill in the details on the GOAPS website without any errors because the application is liable to be rejected if there is an error. As a checklist, candidates MUST verify that they have filled in and uploaded the following as required:
a) Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc.).
b) Address for communication (including PIN code).
c) Eligibility degree details (College address, PIN code of college).
d) The signed application form (with photograph affixed) with Principal’s certificate, if that is the proof of your eligibility to appear in GATE 2024 or other eligibility documents required to appear in GATE 2024 (e.g., degree certificate).
e) A high-quality image of a recent photograph
f) Category certificate in case a discounted application fee is claimed
g) Good quality image of a signature
h) Details of the same valid ID Proof that will be carried to the examination hall
i) Fee payment number
Note: Before submitting the GATE 2024 application, please ensure that all the details and all the necessary supporting documents are filled/uploaded and there is NO ERROR. An application once submitted cannot be changed/rectified. The current status of an application will be updated after the receipt and scrutiny of the application by the respective zonal GATE Office.
