In the previous year, as per the experts and students, the JEE Advanced Paper 1 and Paper 2 were moderate. The paper was very doable, and candidates could complete the paper on time. In both papers, Maths was difficult, Physics was moderate, and Chemistry was the easiest. Both papers 1 and 2 had 180 marks each, and each paper had 51 questions. Each paper had three sections - Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and each section had 17 questions.

Paper-2: Immediate reaction of students :
- Students found the overall level of paper Moderately Tough. Tougher than Paper-1.
- Some students have reported Physics and Chemistry were Moderate, but Maths was relatively Tough.
- Chemistry was a Tricky as per students. Equal weightages given to Organic, Inorganic & Physical Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry had few questions of p-block, Chemical bonding, Coordination compounds which were directly from NCERT. In Physical Chemistry questions covered Electrochemistry, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry & Surface Chemistry. In Organic Chemistry, questions mostly asked from Aldehyde & Ketones, Polymers, Biomolecules, Mixed concepts questions were asked. Qualitative Analysis was asked in Comprehension based type questions. This section was reported Moderate as per students.
- Physics. Questions were asked from Chapters of Waves & Sound, Ray &Wave Optics, Fluids, EM Waves, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics had more weightage, Kinematics, Gravitation & Electrostatics. Overall, Physics was Moderately Tough as per students. Students felt this section was not balanced. Some questions had tricky & Lengthy calculations.
- Mathematics was Toughest as per students. There were questions from Functions, Limits, Application of Derivatives, Definite Integrals, Area under Curve, Inverse Trigonometric functions, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Circle, Parabola, Quadratic Equations, Permutation & Combination and Probability. Students felt this section was the Toughest.
- No mistakes reported till now as complete paper is yet to be analysed.
- As the Test was Computer Based students had the option to Clear Response to change any option, they could mark it for Review, Save and next to proceed further.

Paper-2: Immediate reaction of students: Students found the overall level of paper to be Moderate & Lengthy. Paper-2 was Lengthy & but overall Easier compared to Paper-1 held in the 1st Shift. Chemistry was Easy, Physics & Mathematics was Moderate to Tough Level & Lengthy. Chemistry (Easy). Balanced Section. In Physical Chemistry, there were questions from Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Surface Chemistry, Thermodynamics & Chemical Kinetics. Organic Chemistry was well distributed with more mixed concept-based questions. No direct questions in Inorganic Chemistry, there were questions from p-block specially reaction based.
Physics (Moderate & Lengthy) There were more concept based and covered all chapters. Students reported this section to be Moderate. Questions were asked from Optics, Kinematics, Work Power & Energy, Rotational Motion, Thermodynamics mixed with Surface Tension, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, Magnetism. Mixed concepts questions took more time, so some students found this section lengthy.
Mathematics (Moderately & Lengthy) There were more questions from Calculus & Coordinate Geometry. Questions were mixed concept questions clubbing two chapters asked from Functions & Progressions, Application of Derivatives clubbed with Differential Equation, Circle clubbed with Trigonometry, Vectors clubbed with Matrices, and some direct questions from Hyperbola, Ellipse, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Definite Integration with Inverse of function. Questions had lengthy calculations.

Paper-1: Immediate reaction of students :

Students found the overall level of paper Moderate to Difficult level but not easy.

Some students have reported Physics was Moderate, Chemistry was Easy but Maths relatively difficult.

Chemistry was a balanced section with questions covering chapter of 11th & 12th class equally. In Inorganic Chemistry questions were directly from NCERT. In Physical Chemistry questions covered chapters of Electrochemistry, Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure. Thermodynamics (Kinetic Theory Gases). In Organic Chemistry, questions mostly asked from Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen containing Compounds, some named reactions were also asked.

Physics. Had more than one question from chapters like Rotational Motion- 3 questions, Thermodynamics-2 questions, Modern Physics-2 questions, Capacitors-2 questions, LC Circuits, Kinematics, Gravitation, Optics, Current Electricity. Overall, this section was moderate compared to the other two subjects as per students.

Mathematics, was tricky & difficult as per students. There were 2 questions from 3D Geometry. Some tricky questions from Functions, Matrices, Ellipse, Vectors, Probability, Harmonic Progressions, Trigonometric Equations. Some good questions were asked from chapters of Probability, Complex Numbers,3-D Geometry, Conic Sections. Students felt this section was the Toughest.

No mistakes reported till now as complete paper is yet to be analysed.

Total no. of questions in Paper-1 were 54 .

Total Marks of Paper-1 was 180 which is same as last year.

As the Test was Computer Based students had the option to Clear Response to change any option, they could mark it for Review, Save and next to proceed further.

Scribble Pads were given to students during the exam for rough work and were taken back after the Exam.

Being Qualified for IIT Admission (with JEE Advanced)
I am sorry to say that, with a category rank of 10,110 (OBC-NCL), getting into IIT is unlikely.
Usually, OBC-NCL B.Tech admissions are closed after around 3,000–4,000 rankings, varying by IIT and the branch.

For admission to BArch at IIT Kharagpur, you do need to take the JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is only open to those who first pass the JEE Main. The final selection of students happens through JoSAA Counselling. You cannot be admitted to BArch at IIT Kharagpur unless you pass JEE Advanced.
