JEE Main Counselling 2025: The JEE Main 2025 JoSAA Round 4 seat allotment result has been announced. Candidates can check their seat alltoment results online using the link on this page or from the JoSAA portal. Candidates who have been allotted seats must exercise the freeze/float/slide option and confirm their admission by July 9, 2025. Also, candidates need to to confirm the admission by paying part admission fees within the dates mentioned in provisional allotment letter.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has also released the JoSAA 2025 round 1, 2, 3 & 4 opening and closing ranks. The link to check seat allotment and JEE Main 2025 round 1, 2, 3 & 4 cutoff is provided on this page. JEE Main Cutoff for admission to NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs as well as other participating colleges of JoSAA is available in this page.  

Registration for JoSAA 2025 counselling is closed with last date to register June 12, 2025. JoSAA counselling is conducted in multiple rounds for admission to NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs. All candidates with a valid JEE Main 2025 score can participate in JoSAA for admission to BTech courses at NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. To participate in the counselling, candidates had to register online on the website and fill in choices of their preferred institutes and branches. Candidates with allotted seats through JoSAA counselling must confirm their admission online and deposit the fees as per the date mentioned in their provisional allotment letter.

Candidates who appeared in JEE Main 2025 are eligible to participate in the counselling for admission to all the participating institutes of JoSAA through JEE Main scores. Candidates with a rank in JEE Advanced will be admitted to IITs through JoSAA.  Admissions to all 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and GFTIs will be through JoSAA counselling. The allotment of seats will be based on choices filled by the candidates during JoSAA 2025 registration. Candidates must go through JoSAA eligibility criteria before appearing in the counselling process.

Q:   Who can participate in JoSAA Counselling?
A: 
All the candidates who have qualified JEE Main or JEE Advanced can participate in JoSAA counselling and seat allotment process. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams are set by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), respectively. JoSAA Counselling is the centralised counselling process for admission to the participating institutes in India, which include the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs).
Q:   What is the last date to register for JoSAA?
A: 

For JoSAA 2025, registration will begin on June 3 and will be open till June 12. To register, candidates will need to authenticate their identity using their JEE Main 2025 application number, their name, their mother’s name, and their date of birth. After successful authentication, candidates can log in to the JoSAA online portal using their JEE Main 2025 application number, the JoSAA password they create, and an OTP sent to their registered mobile number and email ID. Once logged in, candidates must verify and confirm their details. Following the registration process, candidates can proceed to fill in their preferred choices of institutes and programs for admission.

Q:   When will JoSAA 2025 registration process start?
A: 

The JoSAA 2025 registration has started on June 3, 2025. The complete schedule for the JoSAA 2025 counselling has been announced by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The only candidates who can register for JoSAA counselling are those who meet the requirements for both JEE Main and/or JEE Advanced in 2025. Candidates can complete their course selections and institute online at josaa.nic.in, the JoSAA's official website. Candidates must finish the choice-filling procedure by selecting their preferred engineering streams and institutes after completing their JoSAA 2025 registration. JoSAA will assign seats to candidates based on their choices and the availability of seats in participating institutes.

Q:   What is the minimum qualification needed to appear in the JoSAA counselling?
A: 

The minimum qualification needed to participate in JoSAA counselling are as follows:

  • Candidates must have passed and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
  • Candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
Q:   Can I participate in JEE Main counselling next round if I do not accept the seat allotted to me in previous rounds?
A: 
The process of JEE Main counselling and seat allotment consists of several processes. Once a seat is allotted to a candidate, he/she has the option of Accept and Freeze and Accept and Float. If a candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and selects the first option, he/she cannot participate in the next round counselling. If the candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, he/she can select the second option trough which he/she can participate in the next round counselling with the current seat.

  • JoSAA organises a combined counselling process for admission of JEE Main and JEE Advanced qualified candidates in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

There is no fees for JoSAA counselling registration. Candidates can register for the counselling and participate in the counselling without any fees. JEE Main Eligibility for Admission to Participating Institutes

The eligibility criteria for admission to various participating institutes will be released by JoSAA. Check the details below.

JEE Main eligibility for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, SFIs

The authority will offer admission to BTech/BArch/planning courses in the NITs, IIITs and GFTIs based on All India Rank (AIR). All candidates need to have minimum 75% marks in class 12 examination (for SC/ST candidates the minimum requirement is 65% in class 12). 

JEE Main eligibility criteria for BArch and BPlan admission

  • Architecture students have to pass the qualifying examination with 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and 50% in aggregate of the qualifying exam.
  • For BPlanning candidates should have passed class XII or qualifying exam with 50% in Mathematics and 50% in aggregate of the qualifying exam.

JEE Main eligibility for other institutions

  • The above criteria will also apply to other Technical Institutions participating in counselling through JoSAA/CSAB.
  • In case a State opts to admit students to the engineering Colleges affiliated with State Universities, the State may prepare a separate rank list based on criteria decided by them.

Q:   Is a domicile Certificate required for admission to NITs?
A: 
For joining IIT/NIT/IIIT through JEE, candidates are not required to provide a domicile Certificate. It is only NIT where admission is offered against the Home State quota and it is not determined on the basis of the state to which you belong but on the basis of the state in which you appear for your 12th board exam. The domicile Certificate is not required during JoSAA counseling. The candidates are given admission based on their JEE score.
Q:   Can I participate in JoSAA counselling if I don't have 75% marks in class 12?
A: 

It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all the conditions of eligibility. However, many institutes admit students on the basis of JEE Main where there is no requirement of minimum marks in class 12.

Q:   How many rounds are there in JEE Main counselling?

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority JoSAA will conduct at total of six rounds counselling and seat allotment process. Earlier, up to 2021, JoSAA were conducted in seven rounds in 2022 the counselling was conducted in six rounds. It is expected that JEE Main counselling 2023 will also have a total of six rounds. Q:   What happens if the documents uploaded during JoSAA counselling, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced do not match?
A: 

During the process of document verification in JoSAA, if there is any mismatch between the document uploaded earlier by the candidate JEE Main registration site, JEE Advanced registration site and the document uploaded by the candidate on the JoSAA portal, the offer of admission will be withdrawn. The candidates shall be debarred from further rounds of seat allocation. Thus, the candidate will forfeit the eligibility for admissions to any of the institutes through JoSAA. The decision of JoSAA on this issue shall be final and binding.

JEE Main 2025 CSAB Special Round Counselling

CSAB conducts centralised counselling for four categories as mentioned below:

1. CSAB Special Round: For vacant seats after JoSAA final round for all NITs, IIITs and CFTIs across India. The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct two special rounds of JEE Main counselling. Candidates with a valid JEE Main 2024 score can participate in the special round of counselling.

2. CSAB NEUT: For supernumerary seats in NITs for Union Territories, and in some AICTE-approved institutes for North East and Union Territories (NEUT). CSAB counselling process will be conducted for 12 North East and Union Territories which includes Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep.

Q:   When will CSAB counselling start?
A: 

The schedule for the CSAB 2025 NEUT round, as well as the special and supernumerary rounds, will differ. The counselling process will begin with the CSAB NEUT round, followed by the special round, and finally the supernumerary round.

The dates of CSAB NEUT roun is yet to be announced, however, dates ofr the supernumerary and special round has been released at csab.nic.in.

Q:   If a candidate has not participated in JoSAA counselling, will he/she be eligible to take part in CSAB counselling?

Yes, candidates who have not participated in the JoSAA counselling 2025 are eligible to participate in the CSAB counselling. Candidates must complete the CSAB counselling registration 2025 using JEE Main information. After the registration process, the exam authorities will commence the document verification process. For applicants who have appeared for JoSAA counselling 2025, authorities will not conduct the document verification process.

Q:   Do the JoSAA registered candidates need to fill CSAB application form separately?

Yes, applicants who have registered for JoSAA counselling have to do separate registration for CSAB. The document verification of such candidates will not be conducted again for verification. JoSAA registered candidates have to pay application fee directly after login using JEE application number and password. Candidates are advised to keep payment receipt safe for admission purposes.

JEE Main 2025 Counselling Procedure

The counselling of JEE Main 2025 consists of various processes. Candidates need to complete each step to participate in the counselling. The detailed step-by-step procedure of counselling is described here.

Step 1: Registration - Firstly, candidates have to visit the official website of JoSAA. Candidates who will appear in JEE Main 2025 or JEE Advanced 2025 need to register to participate in the counselling. Below are steps to fill the JoSAA 2025 registration form online:

  • Visit the official website of JoSAA
  • On the login page, enter JEE Main 2025 application number, password and security pin.
  • Read the instructions and click on the 'I Agree' option
  • JoSAA counselling form will be displayed
  • Fill the form and click on ‘Confirm Registration’

Step 2: Choice filling & locking: In the second step, candidates will be required to lock their college and course preferences. Seats will be allotted to aspirants based on their availability and choices filled by them. Below are the steps of online choice filling and locking.

  • On the online form, select a choice of colleges and courses
  • Candidates can opt for edit/change/delete choices
  • After verifying, lock the choices
  • Candidates can lock their choices after each round of counselling

Step 3: JEE Main 2025 Seat Allotment - Seats will be allocated to the candidates based on their ranks obtained in JEE Main 2025/JEE Advanced 2025. Mock seat allotment by JoSAA was also conducted in two rounds. Candidates who will be allotted seats will be required to confirm their admission by paying the admission confirmation fee and reporting to the allotted institute as per the specified dates.

Step 4: Payment of admission fees - After the seat allotment procedure, candidates have to pay the counselling fees and confirm their seats. Candidates have to pay the seat acceptance fee for the allotted seats through Net Banking/e-Challan. All the required documents will be verified at the reporting centre. After verification of the documents and payment of the fee, a provisional admission letter will be issued to the candidates.

However, if candidates are not satisfied with the allotted seat then they can use float, freeze, slide and withdraw.

  • Float: Candidates who wish to keep the allotted seat or upgrade their seat, can choose this option.

  • Freeze: In case candidates are satisfied with their allocated seats and do not want to participate in further rounds of counselling they can select the 'Freeze' option.

  • Slide: Candidates who want to accept the allotted seat and upgrade the programme in the same college/institute, can select the 'Slide' option.

  • Withdraw: Candidates who have already accepted the seat, but want to withdraw the seat can choose this option by reporting at the allotted institute before the final round of JEE Main 2025 seat allotment.

Step 5: Reporting to the centre for document verification - In this step, candidates have to carry their original documents and report to the allotted JoSAA 2025 reporting centre. If in case, candidates fail to report to the centre or do not produce all the necessary documents, their candidature might get cancelled. Candidates must keep multiple copies of all the documents for verification and seat confirmation. Below are the documents required for JEE Main 2025 seat allotment.

Step 6: Final reporting to the allotted institute - This is the final step of JEE Main 2025 counselling. Candidates have to report to the allotted institute and pay the balance fees within the prescribed timeline.

Q:   Is there any mock seat allotment in JEE Main counselling?
A: 
JEE Main counselling do have the provision of mock seat allotment. JoSAA will conduct a total of two rounds mock seat allotment where candidates can check which college they get based on the choice filled by them. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference. The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of All India Rank and choices filled by the candidate.
Q:   What is the process to accept the allotted seat in JEE Main counselling?
A: 
Once a candidate is allotted a seat, he/she need to login to the JoSAA candidate portal and chose the Accept and Freeze option. After the option is selected, candidate will be issued a provisional seat allotment letter with details of college and branch with details of seat confirmation fee to be paid. Candidate will need to pay the fees online through credit/debit card or internet banking. Once the fee payment is done, the seat allotment will be confirmed.

  • Candidates will be offered admission based on the choices filled by them and JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) 2025 through JEE Main seat allocation process.
  • The candidates will be able to make their choices online for branches/programs and institutes at an appropriate time.

I think there is something wrong with your, choice filling order you from obc ncl still you are not getting that NIT how is it possible with this rank . Participate in CSAB Special Round you will definitely get a very good seat.

NTA will soon announce the JEE Main 2026 exam date. JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in two sessions in January and April. The exact date of JEE exam 2026 will be announced tentatively in November on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

No, you cannot get into BTech at IIIT Delhi without a valid JEE Main score. The institute offer course admission based on the national-level exam scores only. JEE Main happens in two session mostly. First session in January and second in April. Students can try both so they get best score. Uka Tarsadia BTech admission admits students on the basis of GUJCET and JEE scores.
