TNEA 2024 Dates: TNEA Rank List 2024 was released on July 10, 2024. The candidates could raise objections against the TNEA Rank list 2024 from July 11, 2024 to July 18, 2024. 

TNEA Registration was done till June 11, 2024. The TNEA 2024 important dates were announced on the official website notification. TNEA 2024 registration could be done from May 6, 2024, to June 11, 2024. The candidate must stay informed about the TNEA 2024 application dates to avoid missing any crucial deadlines. Typically, after the announcement of the 12th or qualifying examination results each year, TNEA application forms are released, followed by TNEA counselling and the subsequent admission process. Key events and tentative exam dates are outlined below for reference.

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions rank list was released on June 10, 2024. Q:   Where do I apply for TNEA counselling?

A:

You have to apply on the official TNEA website. Engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu offer admission based on the results of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA exam.

  1. The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education is in charge of conducting this exam. Following the exam, seats are assigned in engineering colleges through the TNEA counselling process.
  2. After the results are released, you must register on the official TNEA website in order to take part in TNEA counselling.
  3. On the TNEA website, you have to fill out the application form, pay the counselling fees, and list your choices. 4. After the application process is finished, the TNEA will publish a list of seats allocated according to ranks.
 

Q:   Who conducts Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions or TNEA?

A:

Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu conducts Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission TNEA 2024. Earlier, TNEA counselling was conducted by Anna University. TNEA counselling is a single-window process and admissions in Tamil Nadu engineering colleges are offered through such a process because authorities believe that such an initiative facilitates transparency. TNEA rank list is used to offer admissions to candidates in undergraduate programmes like Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in colleges of Tamil Nadu. Candidates must note that TNEA written exam has been scrapped as the counselling is based on Class 12 marks and therefore seats are allotted in the colleges through the TNEA rank list.

 

TNEA 2024 Dates: Important Events to Note

The important events in TNEA 2024 are as follows:

  • TNEA 2024 Registration: Candidates need to register for the counselling process. Registration is to be completed within the stipulated time and after that candidates can proceed to the next step.
  • TNEA 2024 Random Number: The registered candidates are assigned a random number. This number is unique to all candidates and is used for the purpose of tie-breaking while preparation of the merit list.
  • TNEA 2024 Certificate verification: The candidates who register for TNEA and are assigned random numbers have to visit the TFC for verification of the certificates. Without certificate verification, candidates cannot move to the next step of the admission process.
  • TNEA 2024 Rank List: The candidates who complete the certificate verification will be included in the rank list. The rank list is prepared based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths, Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200 (Maths – 100, Physics – 50 and Chemistry – 50).
  • TNEA 2024 Counselling: Candidates whose names appear in the rank list will have to appear for the counselling rounds. The counselling rounds include:

A:

TNEA 2024 rank list will be out in June tentatively. The rank / merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which is reduced to 200, Maths -100, Physics - 50 and Chemistry - 50. After the normalisation of marks in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by different Boards, the qualified students shall be merged into a common merit list. The overall rank and community rank are published on the official TNEA website. A week is reserved for addressing applicants grievances after the publication of the rank. In case of grievances, applicants can contact the Office of the Secretary, TNEA at the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai 600 025.

All Indian National candidates who wish to take admission to Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges, University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University and for the seats surrendered by Self-Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu have to apply for TNEA counselling. The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics:100, Physics + Chemistry 100) in the qualifying examination. The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalisation.

A:

The date of assigning the TNEA 2024 Random Number is June 12, 2024 . Registered candidates have to sign in by entering login Id/email Id and password to view their unique random number allotted by the authority. The conducting body also informs all the registered candidates about the assigned random number of TNEA 2024 through SMS. The random number will be a 10 digit number that will be allotted to the candidates randomly. Candidates have to verify their documents at TFCs as per their assigned TNEA random number.

Q:   When will TNEA supplementary counselling begin?

A:

TNEA 2024 supplementary counselling will be held in September. For TNEA counselling the applicants are grouped based on their rank and each group of applicants is allowed to participate in counselling according to their turn. TNEA 2024 counselling will have 4 rounds. The applicant has to login into the TNEA portal by using his/her user ID and Password (same as that used at the time of registration) for performing various activities in a particular round. The procedure for each round of counselling is as follows:

  1. Publication of eligible applicants: The list of eligible applicants for a particular round will be published in the TNEA portal.
  2. Rounds of TNEA 2024 counselling: Counselling will be conducted online in 4 rounds as per the Schedule. Candidates will participate in corresponding rounds based on their rank.
  3. Stages of Counselling: Each round has 4 stages: - Choice Filling - Allotment - Confirmation of Allotment - Reporting to College/TFC and payment of fees depending upon their confirmation
  4. Process followed in each round: In each round, the following procedure will be followed a. Choice filling b. Seat allotment c. Choice confirmation option practice d. Reporting and confirmation of seat.
 

Q:   When will the TNEA document verification at the TFCs start?

A:

The TNEA 2024 document verification at the TFC will be held in June. The uploaded certificates are subjected to verification at the TFCs selected by the candidates in the online application form. The Certificate uploading and verification procedure is intimated after the completion of the registration process. While verifying the documents uploaded during TNEA 2024 registration, candidates have to follow the following steps:

If the status shown is Incomplete, candidates have to scan all the required certificates as a single pdf file and upload it.

After uploading they must freeze the upload and logout.

If the status shown is 'upload not completed and Upload status as Not started', scan all the certificates as a single pdf file and upload.

After uploading freeze the upload and logout.

If the status shown is 'In Progress', it indicates that Certificate verification is under process.

If the status shown is 'Completed successfully', then it indicates that Certificate verification is completed successfully for that Application.
