Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
Q:   Is BITSAT tougher than VITEEE?
A:

Both BITSAT and VITEEE are one of the highly competitive private engineering entrance examinations. Since the syllabus of both the exams consists of topics from 11th and 12th standard syllabus, the difficulty level of BITSAT and VITEEE can be considered similar. Along with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, both exams also assess the students on their English, Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. Students will be able to attempt both exams if they are well-prepared for one examination. However, a little bit extra effort may be required for BITSAT. To clear VITEEE, candidates must follow the VITEEE exam pattern and study according to the syllabus and hence get good scores in the entrance exam.

Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon
Q:   What does VITEEE cutoff mean?
A:

VITEEE cutoff consists of the minimum marks that the candidates need to have a higher chance for admissions into the B.Tech courses offered by the participating institutes. The cutoff is prepared by the authorities after the results are declared and the performance of the candidates are assessed. After checking all of the important determining factors, the category-wise cutoff is prepared so that the eligible candidates are selected for admissions during the VIT counselling process.

Q:   How is the VITEEE merit list prepared?
A:

The authorities will prepare the VITEEE merit list by checking the candidate's performance in the entrance exam. Through the total marks secured in the examination, the authorities will create the merit list to allot ranks during the admission process. Since the admissions will be done based on rank, it is very essential for the authorities to correctly rank the candidates as per their performance in the examination. The obtained ranks in the entrance examination will be released through the VIT result.

Q:   What is the level of VITEEE exam?
A:

The VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination) is considered to have a moderate to high difficulty level. It is designed to test the aptitude of candidates in subjects like Mathematics/Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, similar to the JEE Main but slightly easier. The exam format is objective, with no negative marking, which can encourage attempts on all questions. High competition for limited seats makes the preparation challenging. The syllabus aligns with the Class 12 CBSE and state board curriculums. VITEEE fees, for registration, are typically around INR 1,250 for online applications and INR 1,250 for offline applications. This fee structure may vary slightly each year. Overall, thorough preparation is essential to score well in VITEEE.

Q:   What should be my preparation strategy to crack VITEEE in one year?
A:
You can easily crack VITEEE exam even if you have 30 days left, you just have to remember some important point like: 1. Time Management: VITEEE is not about solving all questions, but it is about solving a decent number of questions in a given time frame. If you are unable to solve any question do not waste time on a particular question. Move to the next question and try to solve easy questions rather than focusing and spending more time on solving a more difficult question. 2. Understand basic concepts: It is really important to complete your NCERT books as these textbooks will help you to build your base and you can learn the basics. Always ensure that you are covering all topics of NCERT books well on time. The NCERT of Class 11 and Class 12 covers about 45 percent and 55 percent of the VITEEE question papers, respectively. 3. Develop speed and accuracy skills: While preparing for the VITEEE give importance to speed in working out the problems. Try to make your own strategy to crack the exam. Enhance your skills and try to master analytical skills with conceptual understanding. Aim for 100 percent strike rate. This will give you an edge over the other students. Speed and accuracy are really important to crack this VITEEE exam. 4. Practice a lot: VITEEE exam requires lots of hard work and practice. The more you practice, the better it is for you. The more you spend time on solving the question the more you get familiar with problems and fine tune your basic concepts. 5. Clear your concepts: Take a proper guidance from your teacher. Try to clear the confusion and clear your concepts. It is really important to have a good base and strong foundation to solve all level of questions. 6. Group study: If possible try to study in a group. It might be that while studying alone you might find some topic unimportant but in a group you came to know about its worth. Studying in a group you get chances to clear your concepts and queries. Revision, Solving Last year papers are also the important factor. But as you already told you to have one whole. year left so I would rather suggest you to go for. preparations of other exams like JEE and BITs etc. Still, all the best for what ever you do.

With a VITEEE rank of 107445, getting CSE or ECE in the VIT Chennai campus is unlikely for a Category 1 student. For Category 1, CSE typically closes around rank 8,000 and ECE around 15,000. Category 5 students might have a chance for ECE up to rank 45,000, but CSE is less likely to be available.
