CDS 2 Exam 2022: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year conducts CDS exam twice a year for candidates who wish to make their career in defence forces-Army, Navy and Air Force. Combined Defence Services Examination is conducted for admission to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers Training Academy (OTA).
CDS selection process comprises two stages-written exam and SSB interview. Final selection of candidates is done based on the performance in both the stages. After completing training at IMA, INA, AFA and OTA, candidates are selected for the post of Lieutanant. The stipend paid to the candidates during training is INR 56,100. UPSC has announced the important dates for UPSC CDS 2 2022 through UPSC Calendar 2022. CDS 2 2022 notification has been released on May 18. The application form is available from May 18 to June 7. CDS 2 2022 is scheduled to be conducted on September 4, 2022 (Sunday).
CDS 1 result 2022 for written exam has been announced on May 18. Qualified candidates of the written exam will appear for SSB interview for admission to Indian Miltary Academy, Dehradun, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala courses commencing in January 2023 and Officers' Training Academy (OTA) commenceing in April 2023.
CDS 2023 dates have been announced through UPSC Calendar 2023. CDS 1 notification 2023 will be released on December 21, 2022 and the written exam will be conducted on April 16. CDS 2 notification 2023 will be released on May 17, 2023 and the exam will be conducted on September 3, 2023.
Combined Defence Services Examination, commonly known as CDS, is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The exam is held twice a year, usually in February and September. Every year, a large number of candidates appear for the national-level defence entrance examination. In 2020, a total of 2,343,43 candidates had applied for the exam, out of which 1,182,50 candidates had appeared. The selection of candidates is based on the written exam followed by SSB Interview for intelligence and personality test. Shortlisted candidates are placed at the following academies based on their preferences and merit.

UPSC CDS 1 result 2022 has ben announced soon by UPSC. A total of 6,622 candidates have qualified for SSB Interview. The result has been made available in PDF form on the official website. However, the direct link to check the result is provided on this page. CDS 1 result PDF displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Candidates who have secured the qualifying marks in the written exam are selected for SSB Interview.
CDS cut off is released after the completion of the entire selection process. The cutoff for the written exam is calculated based on the minimum qualifying marks in each subject and minimum aggregate marks of the last qualified candidate. The final CDS cutoff is decided based on the marks of the last recommended candidate. The minimum qualifying for each subject is 20 per cent. CDS 1 & 2 2023 exam dates have been announced by UPSC. CDS 1 notification 2023 will be released on December 21, 2022. UPSC CDS 2 2022 online application link has been activated on May 18. The last date to submit the CDS 2 2022 application form is June 7. The facility to withdraw the the application form will be made available after the closure of the application process. The application form can be filled in two parts: Part-I is registration, while Part-II is filling the detailed form.

CDS 2 age limit prescribed by UPSC for applying to the different academies is given below:
IMA: Candidates for IMA should be unmarried and must have been born not earlier than July 2, 1999, and not later than July 1, 2004.
INA: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than July 2, 1999, and not later than July 1, 2004, can apply for INA.
AFA: To apply for AFA, the age of candidates should be between 20 and 24 years as on July 1, 2022. They must have been born not earlier than July 2, 1999, and not later than July 1, 2003. The upper age limit of candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed upto 26 yrs (i,e born not earlier than July 2, 1997, and not later than July 1, 2003).
OTA (SSC Course for men): To apply for the OTA course (SSC Men), candidates must be unmarried and must have born not earlier than July 2, 1998, and not later than July 1, 2004.
OTA (SSC Women Non-Technical Course): Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees who have not remarried are eligible to apply. They must have been born not earlier than July 2, 1998, and not later than July 1, 2004.

Note: Candidates who are studying in the final year/semester of Graduation can also apply provided they do not have any backlog upto the last year/semester for which results have been declared at the time of submitting the application form. They are required to submit proof of passing graduation at the time of the commencement of the course.
No, candidates after Class 12 cannot apply for CDS exam. If candidates have passed Class 12 then they can apply for NDA exam.
Yes, female candidates can apply for CDS exam for Officers' Training Academy courses.

CDS 2 exam centres 2022 will be conducted at more than 70 cities in three shifts. Candidates are required to enter their preferences of CDS 2022 exam centres while filling the application form. Candidates can choose only one exam city at the time of application. CDS 2 exam centres 2022 will be allotted to candidates on the first-apply-first-allot basis. CDS exam pattern 2022 is divided into a written exam and SSB Interview. The written exam for IMA, INA, and AFA comprises three sections: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. The test paper for admission to OTA comprises two sections: English and General Knowledge. Each section is held for two hours. Total marks of the test for IMA, INA, and AFA are 300, while it is 200 for OTA. The SSB Interview for IMA, INA, AFA carries 300 marks each while it is 200 marks for OTA. The SSB Interview procedure consists of two stages: I and II. Stage I of SSB Interview comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception Description Test (PP&DT) and Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Conference.

CDS Exam Analysis 2022
CDS 2 exam analysis 2022 will be provided to candidates after the exam gets over. The analysis will help candidates to know the section-wise difficulty, overall difficulty, number of good attempts, expected cutoff, weightage of topics and many more.
The paper of CDS 1 2022 was moderate. The overall difficulty level of the General Knowledge and English sections was moderate. Students found the English paper to be tough while GK was easy. The Mathematics paper was easy, however, it was lengthy and calculative.
