IBPS Cut Off 2025: The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection will release the IBPS PO cutoff 2025 for all the categories on the official cutoff notice. The IBPS PO result for the mains exam will be released online soon. The IBPS PO 2024 Mains result was declared on January 31, 2025. The IBPS conducted the IBPS PO Prelims exam on August 23 and 24, 2025 and the mains exam on October 12, 2025. IBPS will release IBPS PO cut-off 2025 in three stages exam, mains exam and final selection. The candidates should note that the IBPS PO cutoff is the mark of the last selected candidate in a particular category in a state. The cut-off of IBPS PO exam is applied to section-wise and all marks. IBPS PO cut-off is released state-wise and category-wise. IBPS PO cut off is decided based on the number of vacancies, difficulty level of the paper, total number of test takers, etc. Based on the IBPS PO cut off, candidates are selected for the post of Probationary Officers. IBPS PO Prelims Cut off

The preliminary exam of IBPS PO comprises three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates carries 100 marks for the exam. Candidates need to qualify in each of the three tests by securing the minimum cut off marks.

IBPS PO Mains Cut off

The mains exam of IBPS PO comprised five sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation and English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). There are 225 marks for the test.

IBPS PO Interview Cut off

IBPS PO interview cut off is released along with the provisional allotment result. The Interview is held for 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40 per cent for General category while 35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD.

IBPS PO Final Allotment

IBPS PO final/provisional allotment cut off is released after the completion of the interview process. The category-wise and bank-wise cut off marks are made available in PDF form. The institute also releases the cut off for the reserve list. On the basis of the provisional allotment cut off, candidates are selected for appointment in any of the participating banks. The final/provisional allotment cut off is calculated based on the combined marks of mains exam and interview out of 100. The weightage given to the mains exam and interview for the provisional allotment is 80:20. The provisional allotment is done on the merit-cum-preference basis.

Q: Are the marks of IBPS PO prelims exam considered for final merit list?

No, the marks of IBPS PO prelims exam are not considered for the final merit list. For provisional allotment of candidates, only the marks obtained in Mains and interview are considered. IBPS PO scores are calculated out of 100 marks. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are taken into consideration to select candidates for the Mains exam. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. It is just to screen candidates for the Mains exam. Candidates need to qualify the prelims exam inorder to get shortlisted for the Mains exam. Candidates need to secure the desired cut off marks to get shortlisted for the Mains exam.

Q: What is IBPS PO normalisation of marks?

IBPS calculates the IBPS PO marks of the candidates through a method called normalisation that help candidates to get a rounded-up figure. Since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts and days the difficulty level of the question paper varies from one shift to another. Normalisation of score is done to balance and assist in fair evaluation. This method is followed both for prelims and Mains exams. Some of the benefits of normalisation are given below: The first assumption made for normalisation of marks is that the candidates across all the shifts of the exam have similar abilities The number of candidates appearing in the exam conducted by IBPS in large shifts is randomly done.

Q: How is the provisional allotment through IBPS PO exam done?

The provisional allotment is subject to the candidate fulfilling the criteria for Participating Banks and identity verification to the satisfaction of the allotted bank. This does not constitute an offer of employment. In case it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria his/her candidature/ chance in the process shall stand cancelled. IBPS PO final allotment is done based on the performance in the Mains exam and interview. As the provisional allotment will be made to participating banks on merit cum preference basis, once the provisional allotment is made, no request for change shall be entertained. Any request for change shall result in cancellation of candidature.

Q: What is the tie-breaking policy of IBPS PO?

In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice. A candidate belonging to reserved category, selected on the basis of norms as applicable to General Category, will be treated at par with a General category candidate. Such own merit candidates belonging to reserved categories who are provisionally allotted under unreserved (General) category will not be adjusted against a reserved post. However, their original category as registered in the online registration will remain unchanged.

Q: What is IBPS PO score calculation process?

IBPS PO scores are calculated based on the marking scheme prescribed by the examination authority. For correct answers, candidates score one mark whereas 0.25 marks are deducted for wrong answers. Candidates need to secure the desired score inorder to qualify the exam. The scores of candidates are calculated based on the following method: The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method. The normalised marks are used to announce the result Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations The corrected scores are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers.

Q: What after the declaration of IBPS PO result?

Issuance of offer of appointment including terms and conditions, formalities for verification, joining etc. Is solely the decision of the participating banks and shall be final and binding.
