SSC released an important notice regarding online applications. The Commission suggested the candidates to fill in SSC CGL 2022 online application before the last date to avoid the technical glitches that arise because of server issues during the last days of the online application. The Commission also mentioned that the SSC CGL exam pattern has been changed. SSC mentioned that the Document Verification (DV) will be done at the user department/organisation.

SSC CGL 2022 exam dates will be released soon. The Commission releases the exam dates before the completion of the application process. SSC CGL 2022 online application will close on October 8. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will finalise the exam dates based on the availability of the examination centre. SSC CGL 2022 notification mentioned the tentative exam dates for the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam 2022, but the exact dates were not released in the official notification. SSC CGL 2022 exam notification was released online on September 17. The last date to apply online for the SSC CGL 2022 exam is October 8.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) notified over 20,000 vacancies for the exam.  The Higher number of vacancies shows the Central government's impetus to recruit more candidates for the central government jobs. SSC reduced the number of days provided for the offline fee payment and application correction. SSC CGL 2022 application correction will start online on October 12 and will remain available till October 13 till 11.00 PM. The first-time application correction/modification fee is INR 200 and INR 500 for the second time correction and modification.

SSC CGL notification 2022 mentioned all the important information required to fill SSC CGL online application 2022. In the case of any litigation, the information provided in the notification will be considered final though the commission has the power to amend the official notification or any part of it till the completion of the exam process.

What is SSC CGL?

The full form of SSC CGL is Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL). SSC CGL is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to shortlist candidates for Group-B and -C posts in various ministries/departments/organisations of the Government of India. Every year, about 30 lakh candidates fill out the SSC CGL application form and about 15 lakh aspirants appear for the exam. Staff Selection Commission conducts the exam in four stages, called tiers. The first two tiers of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam are conducted online. The next two tiers of the exam are held in offline mode.

SSC released important dates for all the exams. The SSC CGL exam dates 2022 are summarised below:

SSC CGL Application Form 2022

SSC CGL 2022 application form link was activated with the release of the notification. The last date to pay the application fee online and offline will be October 3 and 4, respectively.

How to apply for SSC CGL 2022 Exam?

SSC CGL 2022 application can be filled online only and no physical form will be accepted by the Commission in this regard. Candidates would have to fill SSC CGL 2022 online application form on the official website of the Commission in two parts - registration and application. The steps to fill out the application form are given below.

Step 1: Visit the official website of SSC - ssc.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the 'New User? Register Now 'link. 

Step 3: Fill out the SSC CGL registration form.

Step 4: Log in to the registered account using the registration number (generated at the time of registration) and password (set at the time of registration).

Step 5: Fill in all details asked in the SSC CGL application form.

Step 6: Upload scanned images of photos and signatures and other important documents, if applicable. 

Step 7: Review the SSC online form carefully and click on the Final Submit button.

Step 8: Pay the application fee of INR 100 in online or offline mode.

The candidates need to trim their images as per the specification because the SSC can reject the application in case of any variations from the specifications. 

SSC CGL 2022 Application Fee

Candidates can pay the SSC CGL application fee of INR 100 in online or offline mode via SBI challan/BHIM UPI/internet banking/credit card/debit card. However, all females and candidates belonging to reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD) and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) were exempted from the application fee payment.  

SSC CGL 2022 Eligibility

SSC CGL 2022 eligibility criteria vary as per the post applied by the candidate. However, given below are the basic criteria that candidates need to fulfil in order to meet SSC CGL eligibility:

SSC CGL Nationality/Citizenship Requirement

A candidate must be either a citizen of India, a person of Indian origin, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee

SSC CGL 2022 Educational Qualification Required

SSC CGL 2022 Selection Process

SSC CGL selection process will include the following stages/tiers:

  • Application process: Candidates need to fill out the application form online on the official website of the commission in a specified manner. The application fee is INR 100.
  • Tier 1 application status - The regional websites of SSC will release the application status of the candidates, mentioning the acceptance or rejection of the application. It will also inform about the exam date of the candidate.
  • Tier 1 admit cards: SSC regional websites release the admit for the CGL Tier-I exam four days before the exam day. The candidates need to download their admit cards from these regional SSC websites in a specified manner.
  • Tier 1 exam: Tier-I is a Computer-Based Exam (CBE) that contains objective-type Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. 
  • Tier 1 Answer Key - SSC will release the tentative answer within ten days of the completion of exam. The Commission will ask the candidates to raise objections against the incorrect questions/answers given in the official answer key.
  • Tier 1 result: The result is declared by SSC on its official website within 45 days of the exam. The result contains the names and/or roll numbers of candidates qualifying for the Tier-II exam. 
  • Tier 2 admit card: Eligible candidates need to download their admit cards for the Tier-II exam from the official regional websites. The admit card is typically released about one week before the exam. 
  • Tier 3 admit card: The Tier-III exam is conducted after the Tier-III exam and the gap between the exams is from one week to ten days only. So the Tier-II admit cards are released after the Tier-II admit cards.
  • Tier 2 exam: Tier II is again a CBE that is divided into four papers.
  • Tier 3 exam: Tier-III is a pen-and-paper-based exam that is descriptive in nature. 
  • Tier-II result: The result for tier-II is declared on the official website of the commission in the form of a merit list. Candidates clearing the tier-II exam are called to appear for the Tier-III paper.
  • Tier-III result: Similar to tier-I and -II results, candidates can check CGL results for tier-III also in online mode only. Candidates clearing the tier-III exam need to appear for the final stage – Tier-IV.
  • Tier-IV admit card: Like admit cards for other tiers, Tier-IV admit cards are also available for download on the regional websites of SSC
  • Tier-IV exam: In tier-IV, SSC conducts either a computer proficiency test, skill test or document verification, as per the post applied by the candidate. SSC CGL tier-IV is only a qualifying paper. It means that marks scored by candidates in tier-IV are not calculated at the time of declaration of the final result. 
  • SSC CGL result: Final result is announced based on candidates' performance in tier-I, tier-II and tier-III exams. All qualifying candidates are then allotted Group-B and C posts in various ministries/departments/organisations of the Government of India.

SSC CGL 2022 Question Paper

Previous year's question papers are critical for exam preparation. Actual question papers serve as a guiding light to the candidates. They can practice with the previous year's SSC CGL question paper in a time-bound manner to get the feel and experience of the actual question paper.

SSC CGL 2022 Answer Key

SSC CGL Tier 2 answer key has been released online on August 24. The candidates can download their response sheet and answer key from the integrated platform. In case of objections, the last date to send objections is August 28 (6 00 PM). SSC CGL answer key (final) is prepared after considering the objections raised by the candidates. There are no provisions for raising objections against the final answer key released by the commission.

SSC CGL 2022 Result

SSC CGL Exam result (Tier-I) was released online on July 4. The exam was conducted from April 11 to 21 in multiple shifts. SSC CGL results was released online only. The candidates need to search their roll numbers in all the result PDF. SSC releases the result of each tier of the exam separately. The candidates need to qualify in each tier to get selected for the exam. The SSC CGL result for each tier is released online at the website of SSC.

SSC CGL 2022 Cutoff

SSC releases the cutoff with the result. SSC CGL cutoff of each tier is released with the result. The candidate needs to score equal to or more than the cutoff to qualify in the particular tier of the exam.

SSC CGL Vacancies 2022

SSC CGL Vacancies 2022 (tentative numbers) were released in the official notification. There are over 20,000 vacancies in the Combined Graduate Level exam 2022.
