The syllabus of this section is so vast that it makes it difficult to score good marks from the total of 50 marks allotted to this section. Some expert tips can help you prepare the GA section for CHSL:
1. Regularly read a national newspaper to stay updated on all important national and international events.
2. Select one good book that covers the GK subjects, such as history, geography, economics, etc. , thoroughly.
3. Instead of running after multiple GK booklets, pick one good booklet and revise it multiple times.
4. Use reliable reference materials like the Manorama Yearbook and Lucent's General Knowledge book to prepare for factual GK.
5. Solve previous year's GK questions to learn about important themes. Best Wishes.

The posting of selected candidates is determined by ranks and the availability of vacancies in a particular place. You can get the home posting under certain conditions, such as:
1. Your rank makes you eligible for a post in your home state and town, such as DEO in Delhi.
2. There is a vacancy in your home city for the post for which you are selected.
3. After posting, you have a valid reason, such as parent health, to get permission to request a transfer to your hometown. In such cases, the department may permit the transfer.
4. There is scope for mutual transfers in your department. For example, you get posted in Delhi but want to transfer to Lucknow. If someone from the Lucknow department wants to work in Delhi, you can request a mutual transfer. However, it will ultimately be decided by the department alone, and you have to serve wherever you get posted as per rules.
