Candidates need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria for SSC CPO 2024 exam:
Nationality
- Other than the Indian nationals, the following candidates can apply
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan having a certificate in the favour of their category issued by the Indian Government
- Candidates, in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary are admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment is given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to them by the Government of India
Age Limit The age of candidates should be between 20 and 25 years. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1999 and not later than 01.08.2004 to be eligible to apply. Relaxation in the upper age limit of five years is provided to SC/ST candidates and three years to OBC and Ex-Servicemen categories.
Educational Qualification: Any graduate candidate can apply for the SSC SI exam.
SSC CPO educational qualification is given below.
- Educational Qualification for all posts is a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent.
- The programs in Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Physiotherapy, etc. are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode.
- Candidates who have not acquired the educational qualification will not be eligible and need not apply.
- For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) - Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.

The training syllabi for induction courses are confined to training institutions. The duration of training is usually of six to nine months. Indoor training involves imparting knowledge on various subjects under the law, police science, police rules, practical work, criminology, cybercrime and terrorism, human behavior, etc. The outdoor module trains the officers in several fields- physical exercise and drills, vehicle driving, handling of arms and weapons, and practice firing. Special emphasis is given to fitness and unarmed combat. Candidates selected through SSC CPO exam are appointed to the post of Sub Inspector with either the Delhi Police, the CAPF or as Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF. The CAPF is a Paramilitary force also known as the Central Armed Police Forces. It is not directly a wing of the Military and it comes under the Home Ministry.

How to fill SSC CPO Application Form 2025?
The steps to fill SSC CPO application form are given below:
- Visit the official website of SSC
- Fill in the basic details asked for in the registration window
- Submit the registration form. The registration ID is generated
- Log in using the registration ID and password to fill the detailed application form
- Complete all other steps and submit relevant documents
- Upload scanned photograph and signature as per the desired dimensions
- Complete the payment process
- Submit the application form and take its printout
Commonly asked questions
SSC CPO application fee is INR 100 for General and OBC candidates. All female candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe, Persons with benchmark Disabilities (Divyangjans) and ExServicemen candidates eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee. After filling the online application form, candidates can pay the fees online only through net banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards. Earlier, candidates could pay their application fees through challan. However, the process of fee payment through challan has been discontinued by SSC. The application fees once paid by candidates will not be refunded. After fee payment, candidates should take the printout of the fee transaction receipt.
Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor will it be adjusted against any other examination or selection. Candidates must ensure that their online payment has been successfully made to SSC. If the fee is not received by SSC, status of the application form is shown as 'Incomplete' and this information is printed on the top of the printout of online Application Form. Further, status of fee payment can be verified at the 'Payment Status' link provided in the candidate's login screen. Such applications which remain incomplete due to non-receipt of fee will be rejected.
If candidates find that there are mistake while entering details in the registration part, they has the option to edit the registration part. To do this, candidates are required to login and use the option 'view/edit registration' by filling in date of birth, registration number and password. Once candidates has utilised the opportunity to correct/edit twice, they are not able to view the details filled by them. Candidates are advised to exerecise due care while filling in the details in the application form and making corrections. SSC CPO registration form can be filled online only.
Check size and format of photograph and signature files. Scanned colour passport size photograph should be in JPEG format and file size of the photograph should be in the range of 20 KB to 50 KB. Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). Similarly, scanned signature file should be in JPEG format having file size ranging from 10 KB to 20 KB. Image dimension of the signature should be about 4.0 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height). The image of the signature should occupy at least 75% of the frame. The size of the photograph and signature should be as per the dimensions given by candidates.
Fee can be paid only through online payment modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit or Debit card. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2025
SSC CPO Paper 1 and 2 are conducted in computer-based mode. Paper 1 comprises questions spread over four sections. The duration of the test is two hours as per SSC CPO exam pattern. The training syllabi for induction courses are confined to training institutions. The duration of training is usually of six to nine months. Indoor training involves imparting knowledge on various subjects under the law, police science, police rules, practical work, criminology, cybercrime and terrorism, human behavior, etc. The outdoor module trains the officers in several fields- physical exercise and drills, vehicle driving, handling of arms and weapons, and practice firing.
