What is SSC JE?

SSC JE Paper-I Result was released on March 1. The SSC also released the SSC JE cut off along with the SSC JE Result. SSC JE is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (JEs) in various branches of Engineering including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts. The exam is conducted to recruit candidates for Group-B (non-gazetted) posts in level-6 (Rs 35,400-1,12,400) of pay matrix of the seventh Central Pay Commission. SSC JE paper-I 2020 exam will be conducted from March 22-25, 2021. On the other hand, SSC JE paper-II 2019 will be held on March 21, 2021. SSC JE exam for paper-I was held from October 27-30, 2020 (for all except Bihar candidates) and on December 11, 2020 (for Bihar candidates).

SSC JE eligibility criteria differ as per the post applied by a candidate. However, the basic parameters that candidates need to fulfill in order to meet SSC JE 2020-21 eligibility criteria are:

• Nationality/citizenship: A candidate must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 or an Indian who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa countries
• Educational qualification: A candidate should complete his/her degree/diploma in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical engineering as on January 1, 2021
• Age limit: A candidate should be aged maximum 32 years as on January 1, 2021

SSC JE Result 2019-20(Out)

The SSC JE Result 2019 (Paper-I) was released on March 1. The SSC JE result was scheduled to be declared on February 28 but was delayed by one day. The SSC JE paper I exam was conducted in a Computer-based Mode from October 27 to 30 2020 and in December for the candidates opted for the Bihar centre. The candidates who qualify in the paper I will be called for the SSC JE Descriptive Paper ( Paper-II) which is scheduled to be conducted on March 21. The SSC JE Answer Key (Final) will be uploaded on the official website on March 8. The marks of the candidates will also be uploaded on March 8. SSC JE Exam Analysis 2020 (Out)

SSC JE paper-I 2019-20 was conducted from October 27-30, 2020 in two shifts per day - 10:00 AM-12:00 PM and 3:00-5:00 PM. Shiksha reached out to students at an exam centre in Noida soon after the paper in the first shift on October 27 was over. Shiksha reached out to students to know the difficulty level and expected cutoff for paper-I. Most of the students that Shiksha spoke with shared that SSC JE 2020 exam was of easy to moderate level. As per students, SSC JE cutoff 2020 for paper-I is expected to be as high as 150 marks for General category.

SSC JE Admit Card & Application Status 2020-21

SSC JE admit card 2021 will be released by Staff Selection Commission region-wise on its official regional websites. The admit card will be released for all regions - Northern (NR), North Eastern (NER), Karnataka Kerala (KKR), Southern (SR), Eastern (ER), Central (CR), Western (WR), Madhya Pradesh (MPR) and North Western (NWR). 

However, before the admit card, the Commission will release application status for all regions. The SSC JE application status determines whether a candidate's application for the exam has been accepted or rejected. Candidates can download the SSC JE admit card and application status by using their login credentials such as roll number, registration ID, date of birth, name and father's name.

SSC JE selection process includes the following steps:

Step 1: Fill SSC JE Application Form

Candidates need to visit the official website and fill the SSC JE application form online. To apply, the aspirants first need to register on the official website. Thereafter, candidates need to log into their account and fill-up the form online.

Step 2: Download SSC JE Admit Card

SSC JE admit cards are made available for download on the regional websites of the commission. SSC JE admit card is an important document containing information related to the exam and candidate. Candidates are advised to preserve the admit cards until the recruitment process is over.

Step 3: Appear for SSC JE exam

Students need to appear for SSC JE exam as per the prescribed schedule. Candidates first need to appear for SSC JE paper-I. Thereafter, all qualifying candidates need to appear for SSC JE paper-II.
