Territorial Army 2025 Exam: The Territorial Army released the Territorial Army notification 2025 for a total of 19 vacancies. The detailed Territorial Army notification was released on May 12, 2025. The Territorial Army application form 2025 was released along with the notification. The last date to fill the application is June 10, 2025. The online test will be held on July 20, 2025. The application fees have been increased to INR 500. Candidates who have completed graduation and are gainfully employed can apply for Territorial Army 2025 exam. 

The selection process comprises screening, a written exam and an interview. Successful candidates are further called for Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.

The written exam of the Territorial Army is divided into two papers. Paper 1 comprises questions from Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics. Paper 2 comprises questions from the General Knowledge and English. The total marks allotted to the written exam are 200. The standard of Elementary Mathematics paper is of Class 10 level. The standard of questions in other subjects is at the Graduation level.

  • Territorial Army is part time concept with mandatory two months of training in a year and does not provide full time career.

What is Territorial Army Recruitment?

The Indian Territorial Army (TA) is the second line of defence after the Regular Indian Army. The present role of the Territorial Army is to relieve the regular army from static duties and assist the civil administration in dealing with natural calamities and maintenance of essentials. Presently, the Territorial Army has approximately 40,000 persons. Candidates can join the Territorial Army as Officers and Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO). The Territorial Army Officers (Non-Departmental) is done for Ex-Servicemen and Civilians.

Territorial Army Selection Process 

The selection process for Officers Civilians and Ex-Servicemen is given below:

Territorial Army Selection Process for Officers Civilians

Candidates applying successfully for the exam are called for screening. The screening comprises a written exam followed by an Interview, conducted by a Preliminary Interview Board by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters. Successful candidates are required to further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection. The vacancies for male and female candidates are determined as per organizational requirements.

Territorial Army Selection Process for Ex-Servicemen

  • The Ex-Service Officers are screened by the Army Headquarters Selection Board (ASB) at Additional Directorate General Territorial Army
  • Ex Armed Forces Commissioned Officers will be selected through interview
  • The Ex-Service Officers undergo a medical examination at Armed Forces Clinic followed by their Police Verification for final selection

Territorial Army Exam Centres 

Territorial Army exam centres are announced along with the notification. The exam is conducted at multiple exam centres across more than 20 cities. Candidates are required to select TA exam centres while filling the application form. The examination authority reserves the right to allot exam centres to candidates. Few important points related to Territorial Army result are given below:

  • Candidates whose application forms are found to be correct are called for screening (written exam followed by interview) by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters.
  • The written exam comprises two papers. Paper I comprise Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics. Paper-II comprises General Knowledge and English. The standard of the papers in Elementary Mathematics will be the Class 10 standard. The standard of other papers is of graduation level. The total marks allotted to each paper are 200.
  • On the basis of the Territorial Army result for the written exam, candidates are selected for the Interview.
  • Successful candidates further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.

  • The latest physical fitness certificate from a registered MBBS Doctor.
  • Copy of Identity proof with photographs (Voter ID/PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving license etc.).
  • Domicile/ Residential proof.
  • Certificate for proof of age (Matric/ Senior Secondary mark sheet and certificate for verification of date of birth).
  • Service certificate by candidates employed in Central Govt/ Union Territory/ State/Semi Govt/ PSU Authenticated by Head Office along with salary certificate and No Objection Certificate by the department as per format given below.
  • Service certificate by candidates employed in the Private Sector Authenticated by the Head Office along with salary certificate and No Objection Certificate by the department as per format.
  • Self-employed candidates are required to submit an Affidavit on Non-Judicial stamp paper of minimum value duly attested stating the nature of employment and annual income along with a photocopy of PAN card and self-certified Character Certificate.
  • Candidates whose names vary in documents should submit a copy of the Gazette notification of India/ State showing the correct name or an affidavit duly supported by newspaper cuttings.
  • The latest income proof from the appropriate authority (i.e. Income Tax Revenue Department / Magistrate / Employer).
  • Copy of the latest Income Tax Return (ITR) filed.
  • Copy of PAN Card.
  • Copy of Aadhar Card.
  • Employees of Railways are required to submit a No Objection Certificate authenticated by the Railway Board.
