What is NIMCET or NIT MCA Common Entrance Test?
NIMCET or National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test is an exam conducted by one of the below mentioned participating NITs for admissions to their MCA programmes. This entrance exam is conducted every year to offer admission into Masters in Computer Application (MCA)Programme. The application process for NIMECT 2020 is now over.
Students have to clear the NIMCET exam with good rank, based on their ranks they will pe allotted seats at various campuses of NITs. Around 25,000 students register for NIMCET each year and approximately 805 seats are offered in 11 NITs across India. The question paper for NIMCET 2020 will comprise 120 MCQs of 4 marks each. NIMCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be an Indian citizen
- Candidates must have secured least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scales (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC/ ST) in (i) BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time with Mathematics/Statistics/Equivalent subject as one of the subject from a recognized University.
- Students with BE/B Tech or equivalent from a recognized University can appear for the exam.
- Aspirants who will be appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply for NIMCET-2020.
- However, such aspirants need to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the Head of institution where the candidate has studied) of candidature for writing the exam during the academic year 2018-19.
- The proof needs to be submitted during the counseling process.
- Aspirants who have completed or completing degree three year BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT from Open Universities can also apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

NIMCET Admission Process 2020
Admission to MCA programme is made through the entrance test and e-counselling, NIMCET.
- The application process for NIMCET 2020 is online.
- Aspirants need to pay a processing fee (Rs. 2,000 for OPEN/OBC and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST) through official website only.
- Fee payment to be made before submitting the final online application form for NIMCET 2020.
- Aspirants are required to register on the official website of the exam with login, password and then fill up all the details as per the online form.
- After the application form is successfully filled, a complete NIMCET application form with a unique application number will be generated.
- Students need to quote this number for all correspondences till the exam is conducted.
- Students are advised to keep two copies of the application form and e-receipt for future reference.
- Aspirants should remember their login, password, security questions and answers, e-mail id entered the application till the end of NIMCET 2020 process.
- Students should take out a printout of the generated form and send the same along with the e-receipt of the application fee payment along with all the required documents.
