Enrollment Process and Eligibility for Advocates in Rajasthan
Law graduates from recognised universities authorised to offer legal education are eligible to enroll as advocates with the Bar Council of Rajasthan. The enrollment process can be completed online, as permitted by the Council. Under the Advocates Act, 1961, state bar councils have the authority to frame their own rules for enrollment procedures. Each council forms an Enrollment Committee to examine and approve applications submitted by prospective advocates.
Once enrolled with a state bar council, advocates become eligible to appear for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) conducted by the Bar Council of India. Upon successfully clearing the AIBE, candidates receive a Certificate of Practice, which allows them to practice law in any High Court and subordinate court across India.
To practice in the Supreme Court of India, however, advocates must pass the Advocate-on-Record (AOR) Examination, a specialized test conducted exclusively by the Supreme Court of India.
