CLAT PG Exam 2026: Admission Process, Registration, Exam Date

CLAT LLM 2026: The CLAT LLM Exam, scheduled on December 7, 2025, has concludedThe CLAT PG Exam is conducted for admission to the LLM courses offered at the NLUs in India. Candidates can now check the CLAT exam analysis here. The Consortium will also release the CLAT PG Answer Key 2026 (soon) on the website. Candidates will get the specific time frame to raise objections to the CLAT provisional answer key if they find any errors or discrepancies.

Candidates were able to fill out the CLAT PG Application Form online until November 7, 2025. The CLAT Exam Notification 2026 was announced on the official website, carry all important details including CLAT Exam Date 2026, application process, and CLAT  exam pattern and syllabus 2026. The consortium also accepted the CLAT application correction details for the candidates who made mistakes in their application while filling it up until November 9, 2025. The successfully registered candidates will now be issued the admit card, which will allow them to sit for the exam. The candidates will have to carry a valid identity proof along with the CLAT 2026 hall ticket for verification purpose. 

Latest Update:

Common Law Admission Test for LLM 2026 (CLAT PG) will be conducted in more than 130 CLAT exam centers across the country. The score of CLAT PG 2026 will be accepted by 19 NLUs in the country for admission to a one-year LLM course. From CLAT 2024, the Gujarat National Law University, Silvassa was also added to the list of CLAT participating institutes. Candidates who are willing to appear for the CLAT LLM Exam 2026 must gear up and start preparing for the exam day.

A:

CLAT Answer Key 2026 PDF will be released in two phases. First CLAT Provisional Answer Key and then the Final Answer Key. The CLAT 2026 Answer Key will be released on consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

Q:   How to raise grievances on CLAT Answer Key?
A:

Candidates can raise objection following these steps

  1. Login to CLAT 2026 dashboard at - consortiumofnlus.ac.in 
  2. Click the 'Submit Grievance' button, and state the nature of the grievance;
  3. Describe grievance in maximum 1,000 characters, and upload supporting documents;
  4. Submit the declaration form, and click the 'Submit' button.

CLAT PG Answer Key 2026

The consortium will soon release the CLAT PG 2026 answer key on the website- consortiumofnlus.ac.in. With the answer key, canidates will be able to download the question paper as well. Moreover, with the release of CLAT provisional answer key, the objection raise window will also be open for specific time period.

No, there is no way to raise objection on CLAT Answer Key in offline mode. You need to visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in to do the same.

Q:   How to Raise Objections Against CLAT 2026 Answer Key?
A:

Candidates will be able to raise objections against the CLAT answer key by following the process given below,

  1. Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  2. Enter your registered mobile number and password.
  3. Once you are logged in, click on the View Objections tab.
  4. Select the question (s), you have an objection on.
  5. Select the type of objection.
  6. Enter objection details, and submit.
  7. After submitting all the objections, make the payment.

Candidates are advised to check the CLAT Syllabus for PG before they start preparing. Candidates must refer to the previous year's CLAT PG question papers to prepare. Around 1,000 seats at the postgraduate level are filled at the participating NLUs through the centralised Admission Process of seat allotment.

CLAT PG 2026 Application Process

The Consortium closed the CLAT 2026 Application process on November 7, 2025. Candidates were allowed to make corrections in the CLAT 2026 Application form till November 9. 

 CLAT 2026 Application Form - Important Documents Required

Candidates can check the list of documents required to apply for CLAT 2026 below:

  • A scanned copy of front facing passport size recent photograph with a plain background
  • Scanned signature of the candidate
  • Category certificate for SC/ST/OBC or PwD candidates
  • BPL certificate (if applicable)

How to fill CLAT PG Application Form 2026?

Candidates can submit the application form of CLAT 2026 by following the simple steps given below:

  1. Registration - The candidate can register by entering their name, mobile number, and email id. Also, select and confirm a password for the newly created applicant account. 
  2. Login - Log in to access the application form.  
  3. Select the program of study - After logging in, the first thing is to select the program of study one-year LLB
  4. Fill the form - There will be different fields like personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences (THREE centres can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation. All fields need to be filled. Check what all documents need to be uploaded in the prescribed specification (refer to the table below).

Additionally, candidates should have their LLB graduation certificates (for CLAT LLM only). They must present the details from these documents. However, admission and CLAT PG counselling 2026 are the only times when the original documents and certifications are needed; otherwise, admission will not be granted.   

5. Submit the form - Once the details are duly filled, agree to the declaration, give consent and submit the form.    

6. Pay the application fee - In the last step, pay the application fee (which is category-specific) in online mode using credit or debit cards, or net banking. Note that in addition to the exam fee, candidates will have to pay an additional INR 500 if they want to opt for previous years' question papers.

CLAT 2026 Application Form Correction: What can be edited?

The changes to the CLAT Application Form 2026 can only be made within the timeline provided by the Consortium of NLUs. The CLAT Application Correction Window 2026 was opened for 4-5 days, from November 5 to 9. Candidates were also given the option to make changes to CLAT Test Centre 2026 preferences. Candidates can check below the details that were allowed to be changed during CLAT 2026 Application Form Correction :

CLAT 2026 Application Correction Window

The Consortium of NLUs enabled the facility to update test centre preferences. To update their categories and test centres, candidates have to follow the steps to edit CLAT application as under:

  1. Click on the application correction link
  2. Login using mobile number and password
  3. Click on the Edit Application button
  4. Go to 'Category and Seat Reservation' for NLU preferences, as well as, Personal details tab for OBC category status, whether Non-Creamy Layer or Creamy Layer
  5. Make the required changes, Click on Next button
  6. Click on the declaration checkbox, and Save to submit the changes

CLAT PG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The NLU consortium released the official CLAT PG 2026 eligibility criteria on its official website. All the candidates who want to appear for CLAT 2026 are advised to check the eligibility criteria of CLAT PG 2026 before applying for the CLAT 2026 PG. The eligibility criteria of CLAT PG 2026 contains information like the qualifying exam passed, marks obtained in the qualifying exam, and the age limit of candidates required before filling the CLAT 2026 application form. It must be noted that only those candidates who fulfill the CLAT PG eligibility criteria 2026 will be able to apply for the exam. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria of CLAT 2026 below:

CLAT PG 2026 Admit Card 

The Consortium released the CLAT PG hall ticket 2026 on November 22, 2025. Candidates can download the CLAT admit card 2026 from the official website as per the process below: 

  1. Go to the official website of CLAT exam 2026 or click here for direct link
  2. On the login window, enter the registered phone number and password to access the admit card
  3. Next, download the admit card, and cross-check all details mentioned on it.

CLAT admit card 2025 PG is an important document that needs to be carried out on exam day and for admission to the allotted NLUs during the counselling. Candidates must carry a valid ID proof (with a photo on it) along with the admit card on the exam day. Candidates must keep their admit card safe even after the exam day as it is also required during the counselling.

CLAT PG 2026 Cutoff: Uses of CLAT Score

The CLAT PG 2026 cutoff is the minimum marks a candidate secures for admission to the LLM course at 19 NLUs across the country. The CLAT PG Cutoff will be released category-specific and will be announced separately for the NLUs. Candidates must meet the required cutoff criteria for the applied NLU or institute to be considered for admission. Candidates who fail to meet the cutoff will not be considered eligible for the admission process.

CLAT PG scores are used not only LLM admissions but also for recruitment at Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Those who appear for CLAT LLM hold a chance of recruitment in legal positions at top PSUs such as: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

The mode of the CLAT exam is offline or paper-based mode. Candidates are handed over hardcopy of CLAT question paper and OMR sheets to answer the questions. Candidates will have to be careful while filling OMR sheet as any scratch or cuts in the OMR sheet will lead to disqualification.

It totally depends on you that when you should start preparing for CLAT. If you want really good marks in board exams, focus on that at first and then prepare for CLAT. If you can manage boards and CLAT preparation side by side then go for it, but do not affect your board scores.

There will be no sectional qualifying criterion for CLAT 2026. The overall marks will be considered while preparing the merit list for CLAT. But to ensure a good score, candidates must ensure a high number of attempts with full accuracy.

According to the CLAT exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate.
