CMAT 2021 exam has been postponed following a change in the exam pattern. CMAT 2021 is now expected to he held in the last week of March or first week of April. Earlier, the exam was scheduled on February 22 and 27, 2021. The new exam dates will be announced by the NTA soon. The CMAT 2021 registration window was also reopened from Februay 10 to March 1 for more students to apply for the exam.

About CMAT

CMAT or the Common Management Admission Test is an aptitude test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA/PGDM courses in over 1,000 B-Schools across India. CMAT 2021 exam will be conducted in online mode and the duration of the exam is three hours. The CMAT question paper consists of 100 questions from Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. The total marks of CMAT is 400. From 2021, CMAT score will be accepted for admission to MBA programmes offered by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) affiliated colleges/institutes across Uttar Pradesh for the academic year 2021-22. CMAT test takers can participate in UPSEE MBA counselling.

CMAT 2021: What's New?

  • A new section has been added to the CMAT question paper. The new section, Innovation and Entrepreneurship will be an optional section carrying 25 questions.
  • Extra 30 minutes will be given to students who opt for Innovation and Entrepreneurship section which means the total time available to students will be 3 hours and 30 minutes. For those not opting for the new optional section will get three hours to complete the paper.
  • Applications have been reopened to enable candidates to opt for the new section while applying for the test. Further details will be available soon.

  • The CMAT aspirant must have completed graduation in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university

  • Final year Graduation students (10+2+3) are also eligible to apply for CMAT 2021 but they will have to present passing certificate at the time of admission

CMAT 2021 Registration Process

The registration process of CMAT exam is online. The CMAT 2021 application form is available on the official website of NTA. Candidates have to fill the online application form to appear for the exam. The CMAT 2021 registration cum application process will include the following steps.

  • Online registration by entering name, date of birth, email ID and phone number
  • Creating CMAT account and user ID by confirming registration via OTP/e-mail
  • Fiiling the CMAT 2021 application from by furnishing personal and academic details
  • Uploading passport size photo, scanned signature in prescribd format
  • Payment of CMAT 2021 registration fees via credit/debit card or internet banking

CMAT Exam Pattern 2021 

CMAT is an online exam in which 100 questions are asked from Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness. CMAT Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for the CMAT 2021 exam must prepare well for not only the exam but also the exam day. Here are some points that you must keep in mind for the exam day:

  • Don’t forget to carry a print out of your CMAT admit card. Digital, scanned or photocopy of the admit card is not acceptable as valid document

  • Reach your CMAT exam centre 2 hours before the reporting time

  • Do not carry electronic items to the exam venue. You are also advised to not carry valuable items

Along with CMAT 2021 admit card, carry a photo ID as a secondary identity proof. You can carry any of the following documents as your ID proof:

  • Aadhar card

  • PAN card

  • Voter ID card

  • Passport

  • Driver’s license

  • College/University ID card

Important FAQs Regarding CMAT 2021

Q: How many times is CMAT exam held in a year?

A: The CMAT is held once a year in the month of January. The exam is conducted at various exam centres across 75 cities in India. You could choose the test city according to your preference. This year, CMAT exam is being held on two days and in two shifts. CMAT 2021 exam was scheduled to be held on February 22 and 27 but has been postponed till March end.

Q: Is CMAT conducted online or offline? Will it be delayed due to COVID-19?

A: CMAT exam is conducted in computer based test mode. The candidates are required to punch in their answers with the help of keypad and mouse of the computer system provided. Yes, CMAT 2021 has been delayed by two months. The exam is conducted in January every year, but this year will be conducted in last week of March o first week of April.

Q: When is the last date to apply for CMAT 2021?

A: The last date to apply for CMAT 2021 exam is March 1. The fee payment window will close on March 2 (11:50 PM). The CMAT 2021 registration process started on December 23, 2020 and ended on January 31, 2021. However, the application process was restarted on February 10, 2021.

Q: I have scored less than 50 per cent marks in Graduation. Am I eligible to apply for CMAT?

A: Yes, you are eligible to apply for CMAT. Any candidate who has secured passing marks in Graduation can apply for CMAT.

Q: For how long is CMAT score valid for admission to MBA institutes?

A: Validity of CMAT score is one year. If you miss the academic session in which you appeared for CMAT, you will have to apply for it again next year. 

Q. What does it mean by CMAT participation institutes?

A: The CMAT participating Institutes are the Institutions which will be accepting the CMAT score for admission to MBA/PGDM courses.

Q: Is there any age restriction for appearing in CMAT?

A: There is no upper age restriction for appearing in CMAT exam. However, since the eligibility criteria for CMAT is graduation, the candidate's minimum age is 20. 

Q: What is the reservation criteria for CMAT?

A: There is no reservation criteria for CMAT. However, CMAT participating institutes have to abide by reservation criteria for educational institutions set by the Government of India.

Q: What is the CMAT 2021 application fee for SC/ST/PwD students?

A: CMAT 2021 application fees for SC/ST students is as follows:
  • Boys: Rs 1,000
  • Girls: Rs 1,000

Q: It there a provision of rechecking or revaluating CMAT answer sheets?

A: No there is no provision of rechecking or revaluating CMAT answer sheets. Mark allotted to candidates in the scorecard will be final.

Q: What is NTA-CMAT Test Practice Centre?

A: NTA has established a network of Test Practice Centres spread across India to help the students practice and train themselves for online exam.

Q: Till when will CMAT 2021 result be available for download on the official website?

A: The CMAT result will be preserved up to 60 days from the date of declaration. Candidates must download their scorecards before that.

Q: Will I receive CMAT 2021 result and score card through post?

A: CMAT 2021 result will be available online only on the CMAT official website. No hardcopy of the scorecard will be sent to any candidate.

Q: Will the NTA released CMAT 2021 merit list after result declaration?

A: Yes, the NTA is expected to release CMAT 2021 merit list alongwith the result. The merit list will be released in the form of PDF, containing each test takers section wise scores, overall score and overall percentile.

Q: Is there any difference betweeen CMAT score and percentile?

Q: How many times can I attempt CMAT?

A: Since, CMAT is an annual exam, you can attempt it only once in the particular year. However, you can take the exam in the consequent academic sessions. Score of the last CMAT exam will be taken into account at the time of admission.

CMAT is an examination in which you shouldn't think about passing marks but on scoring higher. Good colleges may lie in the percentile of 95+ and decent colleges in 90+. It's easier than CAT and a saviour to good applicants to get admission in Tier 2 or 3 colleges.

Earlier admission in MCA required you to appear in any of these entrance tests but now lately 2020-2021 no entrance test is required. You can do MBA in Pharma Management from NIPER, IIHMR, Jamia, NIMS, IIPM Lukhnow etc. You need test score of CAT MAT CMAT GMAT or GPAT with minimum 50%.. .
