Candidates meeting the IBSAT cut off criteria are shortlisted for IBSAT 2025 selection rounds- Micro Presentation and Personal Interview (PI). IBS will mention the IBSAT cutoff and cut off for students applying through CAT, XAT, NMAT by GMAC or GMAT scores. The minimum expected cutoff scores for getting a micro presentation/PI call scheduled at IBS Hyderabad is given below:
- CAT & XAT: 60 percentile and above
- GMAT: 500 +
- NMAT by GMACTM – 150+
The minimum cut-off score for INR 2 lakh scholarship eligibility criteria is
- CAT: Top 75 candidates with a minimum score of 90 percentile and above
- XAT: Top 25 candidates with a minimum score of 80 percentile and above
- GMAT TM: Top 25 candidates with a minimum score of 550 and above

The validity of IBSAT score is one year. This means that candidates who take IBSAT exam in 2026 will have to apply for admission to the ICFAI Business School (IBS) within current academic year of exam date. If a candidate does not apply for admission within one-year period, they will not be able to use their IBSAT score to get admission to the IBS campuses for MBA or PGPM program.

Step by Step Stages of IBS Selection Rounds
- Slot Booking- As mentioned above, candidates meeting IBSAT 2025 cut off marks need to book their slots to receive a call for successive rounds of IBS admission process. Slot booking requires candidates to book a slot (time, date and city) on the IBS website for a selection briefing. Allotment of the venue is based on the availability of slots; thus, it is recommended that students book their slots at the earliest.
- Selection Briefings- The institute conducts selection briefing in 54 locations. In the selection briefing, the candidates are introduced to the institute and its culture.
- Micro Presentation-PI Rounds- Post selection briefing, candidates need to visit IBS Hyderabad for the micro presentation-PI rounds. In the micro presentation round, candidate will have to talk briefly on the given topic for three minutes. In the PI round, members of the selection committee interview the shortlisted candidates. In PI, the focus is on evaluating the candidate’s general knowledge, communication skills, clarity of thought and expression.
- Final Merit List- The final merit list will be prepared based on each candidate’s performance in IBSAT (or CAT/GMAT/NMAT), GD-PI and past academic performances.

IBSAT selection process comprises of two rounds:
- Micro Presentation: In this round, candidate will have to present on a topic in brief. Candidates will be given three topics and choose any one topic from it. This is done to test the communication skill of candidates.

IBSAT 2025 Merit List
IBSAT 2025 final merit list will be released only after the conduct of micro presentation-PI rounds or the final selection process. Based on the performance of the candidate in the IBSAT 2025 and performance in selection rounds, a separate merit list will be prepared by each institution. A merit position, sectional score and overall marks will be mentioned on the candidates' IBSAT scorecard. In case two candidates score equal marks, the inter-se-merit will be prepared.
