NEET 2025 Exam Dates (Announced): Answer Key, Result, Registration & Counselling Dates

According to NTA a candidate can appear for NEET any number of times. There is no restriction on the number of attempts permitted. Moreover, ever since the upper age limit of NEET has been removed, there is even more flexibility in terms of the number of NEET attempts.

The exam is conducted once a year, hence candidates can appear only once in an academic year. But unless candidates fulfil the eligibility criteria, they would not be able to get admission even if they score the qualifying cutoff marks for NEET.

The NEET 2025 exam was conducted on May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM. NTA announced the exam date through an official notice along with the application form on February 7, 2025.

The last date to complete the registration process is March 7, 2025, 11.50 PM, exactly a month after the commencement. However, based on student requests, NTA will either extend the last date of registration, or reopen the window after the stipulated date. Registration is the first step of application wherein candidates have to enter the basic details, validate the OTP and create password. In the NEET application process, candidates have to login with their credentials and then fill up the form, upload documents and pay the application fee of NEET 2025.  

In general, NTA provides two to three days window to submit objections against the provisional NEET answer keys or OMR sheet responses. Last year, NTA released the NEET provisional answer keys on May 29, 2024, and the last date to submit objections or challenges was originally May 31, 2024, which was extended by a day, till June 1, 2024. As of now, NTA has not announced the dates of NEET 2025 answer key release or challenge submission last date. Based on previous years' trends, it is expected that the NEET 2025 provisional answer keys and OMR sheet will be released in the fourth week of May 2025 and the challenges or objections have to be submitted within the next two to three days. 

NTA has released the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip on April 23, 2025. The document has to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration credentials. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET admit card, which will be released on or before May 1, 2025. 

NTA has not extended the NEET 2025 application last date. While NTA does not postpone the NEET exam date in general, it is common for NTA, the exam conducting authority to extend or postpone the dates of application form submission last date or the application correction last date. There have been instances in previous years where NTA had reopened the NEET application process or the NEET application correction window as a response to student requests or other internal reasons. On the other hand, last year, NTA had announced the NEET 2024 result date in advance, which was June 14, 2024, but was preponed by 10 days, and was released on June 4, 2024. Hence, the NEET 2025 important dates may get extended or postponed. 

As of now, there is no such information by NTA regarding the reopening of the NEET 2025 registration window. The NEET 2025 registration and application process was conducted from February 7 to March 7, 2025. NTA has not extended the application window. It might reopen the NEET 2025 registration window based on student requests. 

Although earlier NTA was mulling the idea of conducting NEET twice a year, now it has been confirmed that the exam will be held only once a year in a paper-pencil based mode. NTA communicated this information through an RTI response where it was stated that NEET will be conducted once a year. This has quashed the possibility of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the NTA expert committee headed by ISRO Chief K. Radhakrishnan has recommended conducting NEET twice a year, but there has not been any official confirmation on it yet. 

The total duration of the NEET UG exam cycle ranges from seven to eight months. In general, the application process for NEET starts in the first week of February and goes on till March. After that, the correction window is opened in March, followed by the release of the NEET exam city intimation slip in April and NEET admit card in May, The NEET exam is held in a single day and slot in the first Sunday of May. The result is declared within a month. After that, the NEET counselling process is conducted from July or August, which continues till the seats are filled, tentatively till November or December. 

As of now, the NEET 2025 exam date has not been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET 2025 will be conducted on Sunday, May 4, 2025. As of now, there is no such information about the NEET 2025 exam getting postponed. In general, an exam date is postponed owing to external factors such as natural calamities, political unrest, pandemic or epidemic, elections, etc. Since the exam date has not been announced yet, and there is no such situations, it is likely that the exam will be conducted as per schedule and not get postponed or rescheduled.

NTA decides the NEET exam date after analysing several internal and external factors such as the previous year's exam date, Board exams and other entrance exam dates, elections, festivals, to name a few.

In the years between 2020 and 2022, or the pandemic years, the schedule took a toll and the NEET UG exam was conducted in September and later in July. Since 2023, NEET is being conducted in the first Sunday of May. Accordingly, it is expected that the NEET 2025 exam will be conducted on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5.20 PM. 

NEET 2025 was conducted on May 4, 2025. No top undergraduate level entrance exam date clashed with the NEET 2025 exam date. The CUET UG 2025 exam was scheduled to start on May 8, 2025, four days after the NEET 2025 exam date, but it was postponed to May 13, 2025, avoiding any clash. 

NTA will release the provisional NEET 2025 answer keys tentatively in the fourth week of May 2025, within a month of conducting the exam. Candidates will be given an opportunity to submit challenges or objections against the provisional answer keys within the next two to three days. After the submission of challenges, NTA expert committee will review the objections and release the final NEET answer keys tentatively in the first week of June 2025, a couple of days ahead of the release of the result. There will not be any opportunity to review or challenge the NEET final answer keys. The NEET 2025 result will be computed based on the NEET 2025 final answer keys. 

NTA conducted the NEET 2025 application correction window from March 9 to March 11, 2025. The duration of NEET application correction was three days. The application correction window is available only for candidates who will complete the NEET 2025 application process by paying the application fee. There are specific fields which are available for edit and the rest of the fields are uneditable, for both Aadhaar verified and Aadhaar non-verified candidates. Prior to starting the correction process, candidates have to check the list carefully and then proceed. There is no additional fee required for availing the NEET application correction facility unless there is a change of category impacting the application fee amount.

As per the NEET 2025 eligibility criteria, the minimum age limit of candidates should be 16 years. Hence, candidates must be born by December 31, 2008, in order to be eligible to appear for NEET 2025, which is scheduled for May 4, 2025, for the academic year 2025-26. Any NEET aspirant who is born beyond this date, will not be eligible for NEET 2025, and should prepare to appear next year.

Yes, you can appear for NEET UG exam if you are 35 years of age. There is no upper age limit for the exam, candidates can plan and appear for NEET irrespective of their age. However, they must meet other NEET eligibility criteria given below:

• Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 11 and Class 12
• They must have obtained 50 per cent aggregate in Class 12 Board exam (45 per cent for reserved category candidates). 

Also, there is no capping or limit in terms of number of attempts for NEET exam. 

The duration of NEET exam is three hours. The exam will commence at 2 PM and conclude at 5 PM as per the Indian Standard Time (IST). The timing for the international centres varied as per the local timings. NEET is a continuous test with no breaks allowed in between. Candidates needed to report to the exam centre at least one hour prior to the exam timing. Moreover, candidates were not be allowed to leave the exam hall before the stipulated duration as well. No, NTA did not extend the last date of NEET 2025 application form submission. As per past years' trends, NTA extends or reopens the NEET application window every year, either as a response to student requests or due to some external factors such as server errors or non-functioanlity of exam website. However, candidates are advised not to wait till the last minute, or wait for the extension of application last date, and complete the process at the earliest possible.

NTA reopened the NEET 2024 application window from April 9 to April 10, 2024, based on student and stakeholder requests.
