Q:   How many times can I appear for NEET?
A:

According to NTA a candidate can appear for NEET any number of times. There is no restriction on the number of attempts permitted. Moreover, ever since the upper age limit of NEET has been removed, there is even more flexibility in terms of the number of NEET attempts.

The exam is conducted once a year, hence candidates can appear only once in an academic year. But unless candidates fulfil the eligibility criteria, they would not be able to get admission even if they score the qualifying cutoff marks for NEET.

Q:   When was the NEET 2025 exam conducted?
A:

The NEET 2025 exam was conducted on May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM. NTA announced the exam date through an official notice along with the application form on February 7, 2025.

Q:   What is the NEET admit card 2025 release date?
A:

The NEET 2025 admit card was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 30, 2025, four days before the exam date. NEET 2025 will be held on May 4, 2025.

Prior to the release of the NEET admit card, NTA released the advance intimation of exam city slip on April 23, 2025, a week before releasing the NEET 2025 admit card. The document mentions the city of the NEET exam centre allotted to candidates. Generally, NTA does not release the NEET admit card release date in advance. Candidates will have to log in to the NEET website with the registration credentials to download the admit card of NEET 2025.

Q:   Will NEET 2025 important dates be scheduled as per last year?
A:

As per the previous years' trends, it is expected that the NEET 2025 dates will be scheduled in the same timeline as last year. So far, there has been one change observed this year. While last year NEET exam date was announced in September 2023, along with a common exam calendar, this year, the date has not been announced even till January 2025. Based on the trends followed by NTA for other entrance exams, it is assumed that the NEET 2025 exam date will be announced along with the release of the application form approximately two months before the exam date, which is either fourth week of February 2025 or first week of March 2025.

Q:   Is NEET exam held in multiple slots?
A:

No, NEET exam is held in a single day and slot. The total duration of the NEET exam is three hours, and the timing is 2 PM to 5 PM, as per the Indian Standard Time (IST). Although the exact timing may vary in foreign countries, the total number of slots or shift will remain the same, which is one. Owing to the high number of NEET candidates, the NTA expert committee members had recommended conducting NEET in multiple slots, but it was not approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Q:   When did NTA announce the NEET 2025 date?
A:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET 2025 exam date on February 7, 2025. The exam will be conducted on May 4, 2025. Along with the NEET 2025 exam date, NTA has announced the complete schedule of events or the NEET 2025 important dates. The NEET 2025 registration process was conducted from February 7 to March 7, 2025.

Q:   Is the last date of NEET application form submission and fee submission different?
A:

No, the NEET 2025 application form and application fee submission last dates were not different. The last date to submit the filled up NEET application form and pay the NEET 2025 application fee was the same, which was March 7, 2025, 11.50 PM. Even though it was not mandatory to submit the NEET application form and fee together, it must have been noted that the NEET 2025 application would not be considered successful unless the requisite application fee is paid. In some years, NTA scheduled the dates or time to pay the NEET application form submission and fee payment separately, but this year, it was the same.

Q:   What is the duration of NEET counselling?
A:

The total duration of NEET counselling depends on the number of seats lying vacant at the end of the each round. Before each round of counselling, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releases the seat matrix or seat vacancy list. Once all the seats are filled, the counselling process of NEET will be considered complete. In general, the NEET UG counselling process ranges from two to three months. The duration of each round is around two to three weeks. The duration for the first two rounds is higher than that of the last two rounds. The last date may get extended based on the seat vacancy. The NEET 2024 counselling duration was originally scheduled from August 14 to November 5, 2024, after which the Special Round is scheduled from November 20 to November 30, 2024.
