Motive Beyond Academics: Personal Relationships at the Core

The cheating incident that unfolded at the Mount Aravali Public School in Nuh has left authorities stunned, as several of the arrested individuals confessed that their actions were driven by personal relationships. Some of the culprits agreed to take exams on behalf of others, including a few who did so to prove their loyalty and affection, with some even taking the exam for their girlfriend’s brother to demonstrate their love and commitment.

While motives varied, the recurring theme among several individuals was a desire to appease loved ones. This unusual form of exam malpractice underscores the lengths to which some individuals will go to fulfill personal obligations or promises, even at the cost of violating educational integrity.

Six Minors among 34 Arrested

The police arrested 34 individuals, including six minors, who were involved in the impersonation scandal. The group is accused of engaging in the widespread cheating at the Mount Aravali Public School exam center, where the incident came to light. The arrested individuals face charges of cheating, impersonation, and forging documents in connection with the Haryana Class 10 exams.

Authorities are now working to investigate how these individuals were able to infiltrate the exam centers and successfully impersonate the registered students.

HBSE 10th 12th Exam 2025 Cheating Despite Tight Security Measures

The Mount Aravalli Public School in Nuh, which was one of the exam centers, had about 200 students appearing for the exam on that particular day. However, it was here that the police detained the 34 individuals caught in the act of impersonation.

This latest scandal follows a series of similar cheating incidents. In February 2025, the Class 12 English and Maths papers were leaked, leading to the suspension of 32 officials, including four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and 25 other police personnel.

The continuous cheating problems in the state exams have raised serious concerns about the effectiveness of security measures and the integrity of the entire examination process.

Haryana Board Exam 2025: Authorities Promise Strict Action Against Cheating

Following the arrests and the widespread reports of cheating, the Haryana education department has vowed to take stringent action against any violators of exam protocols. Security squads have been deployed at various exam centers across the state to prevent further instances of cheating, and strict actions will be taken against anyone found guilty of misconduct.

The police have assured that any individual involved in such malpractices, including the impersonators, will face legal consequences, including potential jail time and permanent disqualification from future exams.

This incident serves as yet another reminder of the deep-rooted challenges facing exam security in Haryana. As more students take the exams each year, the state must tackle the growing trend of cheating and develop more effective measures to ensure fairness and transparency during the examination process.

In total, 2,93,000 students are appearing for the Haryana Class 10 exams, with authorities determined to prevent any further violations in the remaining days of the examination schedule. Despite the challenges, officials remain hopeful that with enhanced security and vigilance, such incidents can be reduced in future years.
