India Post has invited applications from eligible candidates who have passed Class 10 for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS). A total of 38,926 vacancies have been announced for India Post GDS recruitment 2022. The online registration started on May 2. The last date to apply for India Post GDS recruitment 2022 is June 5, 2022. Candidates will be selected as Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. There will be no exam and the selection of candidates will be done based on merit.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2022: Application Form
Only online applications will be accepted for India Post GDS recruitment 2022. A fee of INR 100 is to be paid by the applicants for all posts notified in the chosen division. However, payment of fee is exempted for all female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwD candidates and Transwomen candidates.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2022 Eligibility
The eligibility criteria has been announced by the exam conducting authority along with the notification. India Post GDS recruitment eligibility criteria is given below:
Age Limit
Candidates applying for India Post GDS recruitment should be aged between 18 to 40 years. There will be no relaxation in the upper age limit for EWS candidates. However, the persons belonging to EWS who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SC, ST, and OBC will get a 10 per cent reservation in engagement to the GDS posts. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to the following categories.

Educational Qualification
Candidates should have a Secondary School Examination pass certificate of Class 10 standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India is a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of GDS.
The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to Class 10 (as compulsory or elective subjects)
Knowledge of Cycling is a pre-requisite condition for all GDS posts. In case of a candidate has knowledge of riding a scooter or motorcycle that may be considered as knowledge of cycling also
India Post GDS Recruitment 2022 Selection Process
Selection will be made as per the system-generated merit list based on the merit position of the candidate and the preference of posts submitted. This shall be subject to fulfilling of all eligibility criteria as per the rules. The salary for BPM is INR 12,000 and ABPM/Dak Sevak is INR 10,000.
