KIIT 6 engineering courses get ABET (US) accreditation
With this recognition, KIIT has become the only institution in the country to have accreditation from ABET (US) in all six engineering programmes.
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed-to-be-University has received recognition from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), USA, for its six engineering programmes. ABET is the premier global accreditation organisation of engineering and engineering technology programmes. Regarded as the ‘gold standard’ for engineering education, it assures that programmes meet the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce.
With this recognition, KIIT has become the only institution in the country to have accreditation from ABET (USA) in all six engineering programmes. Besides, KIIT Deemed to be University has also been accredited by all statutory bodies of the Government of India. Six programmes of KIIT-DU have received the ABET (US) accreditation due to its quality education and other aspects.
KIIT founder congratulates students, faculty
ABET’s peer-review process is highly regarded worldwide because it adds critical value to academic programmes in technical disciplines, where quality, precision, and safety are paramount. Congratulating the students and faculty of KIIT, Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), said it is yet another recognition for the programmes of KIIT, which prepares students for global careers. It is an honour to receive ABET accreditation for any technical University, Samanta added.
KIIT has been ranked 21st among all Indian universities by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development.. The admission process for the new academic session at KIIT generally starts at the end of December.
