In general, if a candidate keeps all the information and details handy and have an uninterrupted internet supply, he/she would take30-60 minutes to complete the NEET 2025 application process at one go. 

After completing the NEET 2025 application process, download, save and print a copy of the NEET 2025 Confirmation Page of the Application Form (which would be downloadable only after successful remittance of fee) for future reference. 

 In case the NEET 2025 Application Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee, then the candidate have to approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway (in the helpline number and e-mail given in the Information Bulletin) for ensuring the successful payment or for obtaining the refund of duplicate/multiple payments. 

PWBD candidates applying for NEET 2025 need to upload or present the following documents and know the sizes as well.

• The size of the scanned copy of the PwD/PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card with both sides in same pdf should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.  
• The size of the scanned copy of the Medical Certificate issued by 5 doctor bench should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable. 
• The size of the scanned copy of the Medical Certificate issued by 2 doctor bench should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.
• The size of the scanned photograph of scribe should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.
• The size of the scanned signature of scribe should be between 10 kb to 50 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.
• The size of the scanned qualification certificate of scribe should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.
• The size of the scanned undertaking for using your own scribe should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.
• The size of the scanned Identity Proof should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
• Certificate of Physical limitation to write, wherever applicable.  

Yes, candidates may use Paytm after selecting the UPI mode of payment to pay the NEET 2025 exam fee.

NEET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Some of the common mistakes to avoid while filling the NEET 2025 application form are as follows:

• Not reading the instructions carefully before filling the registration and application form.
• Not providing correct information in the NEET application form, may lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Not uploading proper documents in the given format or dimension. Unless the documents are uploaded in proper format and dimension, the application process will not proceed.

The NEET application form is released by NTA two to three months in advance. Let us take a look at the year-wise date trends for the NEET application processes. 

The NEET 2025 tie-breaking criteria have been revised this year. A new criterion has been launched, which is ‘resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.’ Apart from that, rest of the criteria have remained the same. 4. Candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test,
5. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by
6. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test, followed by
7. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by
8. In case, a-g criteria are exhausted and the tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.

Last year, instead of the random process, NTA announced ‘Draw of lots by using the computer or IT with no human intervention’. However, this criterion was removed soon after and only the first seven points were applicable.

Here we bring the step-by-step process on how to fill the NEET 2025 application form.

• The first step is to visit the NEET 2025 website, www.neet.nta.nic.in
• Click on the 'New Candidate Register Here' tab or directly visit https://examinationservices.nic.in/NEET2025/Registration/Instruction.aspx
• Read all the instructions and fill in the mandatory details such as personal and contact details, password selection, and security questions, and enter the security pin.
• Once the registration process is complete, NTA will send the NEET 2025 application number and password to the registered mobile number and email.
• The application form of NEET 2025 is divided into four stages, Personal Details, Identification Details, Exam Centre Details, Qualification Details, Additional and Emergency Contact Details, Document Upload and Fee Payment.
• The application fee has to be paid in online mode only through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI methods.

For candidates whose nationality is Non-Resident Indian (NRI) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Foreign citizen, the following documents will have to be uploaded:

• Scanned copy of the first and last page of the Passport wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, as well as the date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority of the Passport, are clearly mentioned.

  Or

• Citizenship Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate, wherein the Citizenship/Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority, are clearly mentioned.

  Or

• Any other Document issued by a Government Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate (including OCI Card issued by the MHA or concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in case of OCT Candidate only), wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue and Issuing Authority of the Document, are clearly mentioned.

The guidelines for uploading the left-hand thumb impression are as follows:

• The candidate should put Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impressions as per the Template provided.

• The thumb impressions should be clearly legible.

• The file size has to be between 10 KB to 200 KB.

• Unclear Left and Right-hand fingers and thumb Impressions in Online Application Forms will also be rejected.

The guidelines for uploading signatures on the NEET 2025 application form are as follows:

• The scanned signature should be between 4 KB to 30 KB.

• The file format should be JPG only.

• The signature should be made on black ballpoint pen on white paper. 

• The signature should be made in running letters and not in full capital letters.

• In case someone else’s signature has been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

Retrieving the NEET registration number is a four-step process. Though the process is easy, candidates were advised to note the number carefully and not rely on this method.

• Go to the official website of NTA NEET.
• Click on “Forgot Registration Number”.
• Enter the following details: Name, mother’s name, father’s name, category, date of birth, and security pin.
• The registration number will be displayed on the screen.
• Copy the number and use it to download the admit card.

The last date to register for NEET 2025 is March 7, 2025, 11.50 PM.

The file names for the different documents to be uploaded to the NEET 2025 application form are as follows:

Candidates should keep the following things or information handy before starting the NEET UG 2025 application process:

• A strong and stable internet connection
• Updated versions of web browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox

• APAAR ID Number (if available)

There will not be any major impact on the process or experience of filling the NEET 2025 application form. In case you select 'No' to the question of 'If you have an APAAR ID?', you will have to manually enter your Class 10 and Class 12 academic details. 

If you have an APAAR ID, it would be beneficial for you in terms of fetching and auto-populating your Class 10 and Class 12 academic details on your NEET 2025 application form. This will not only save your time, but will also ensure accuracy while entering your educational details. 

No, as mentioned by NTA, the APAAR ID is not mandatory information to be entered into the NEET 2025 application form. You just have to enter Yes or No from the dropdown box, on the question of if you have an APAAR ID or not. 

The five cities, which have been removed from the list are Surampelam (Andhra Pradesh), Deoghar (Madhya Pradesh), Basar (Arunachal Pradesh), Mamit (Mizoram) and Kiphrie (Nagaland).

NEET 2025 registration and application process is stalled for a while as the official website of NEET 2025, www.neet.nta.nic.in, is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. Although apparently the website appears to be functional, but upon clicking on the Registration link, the message displayed is, “This site is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance.”

NEET 2025 will be conducted in 13 languages, which are, English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi and Telugu.

Yes, the NEET 2025 exam pattern has been changed. NTA announced the change in the exam pattern on January 25, 2025, to enable candidates prepare accordingly. The optional questions have been removed. Instead of 200 questions, there will now be 180 questions. The total duration of NEET 2025 has been reduced from 200 minutes to 180 minutes or three hours now. Announcing the same, NTA has stated, “Aspirants are hereby informed that the question paper pattern and examination duration will revert to the pre-COVID format. where there will not be any Section B anymore. Hence, there will be a total of 180 compulsory questions (45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and 90 in Biology) which will be attempted by the candidates in 180 minutes thereby removing any optional questions and extra time introduced due to COVID.”

APAAR stands for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It is a unique identity number which is specialised identification system designed for Indian students, wherein they can digitally store their academic details such as mark sheets, scorecards, etc. APAAR ID is a unique 12-digit code which acts as a permanent digital identity for students. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the NEET conducting body, has announced that the APAAR ID will be implemented for the registration of NEET UG to ensure transparency and efficiency. For this, the authorities have advised candidates to link their Aadhaar ID with the APAAR ID for a seamless verification process and to enhance the integrity of the examination process.

The NEET 2025 dates for all important events have been announced. The following table brings the tentative schedule for NEET 2025.

NEET 2025 exam will be conducted in 566 cities across India and abroad. In India, the total number of exam cities is 552 and international cities is 14.

NEET 2025 will be conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM, as per Indian Standard Time (IST).

• Those Candidates who have passed should fill Code [02 to 07] against the column provided for in case of Qualifying Examination 
• Candidates appearing in Class 12 in 2025 should select a qualifying code as 01.

NTA has laid down the following advisory regarding NEET 2025 application form document upload:

i. The recent photograph should be either in colour or black and white with 80 per cent face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.
ii. Scanned photograph, signature, and Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impression should be in JPG format (clearly legible).
iii. The size of the scanned passport photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
iv. The size of the scanned Postcard photograph (4”x6”) should be between 10 kb - 200 kb (clearly legible).
v. The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb (clearly legible)
vi. The size of scanned and Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impressions as per the Template provided (Appendix-XVIII) should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
vii. The size of the scanned copy of the PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible).

Some information that you must keep handy before NEET registration 2025 are as follows:

• A valid mobile number
• Valid Email Id
• Class 10 marks and percentage
• Class 12 marks and percentage
• Identity Number - Aadhar Card number/ Passport number/ Ration Card number/ bank account/ any other valid Govt. identity number
• Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking credentials.

This year, the additional forms are to be uploaded in the NEET 2025 application form are as follows:

• Class 10 or Equivalent Pass Certificate
• If Class 10 or Equivalent Marks are in CGPA, then scanned copy of Conversion / Equivalent Certificate
• Scanned copy of Address Proof (Present and Permanent).

No, candidates must upload images or scanned photographs, signature and thumb impressions in JPG or JPEG formats. In case a candidate tries to upload images in PNG format, it will not be accepted or uploaded by the system.

NEET aspirants or students should have the following information handy to generate their APAAR ID:

Candidates must ensure that the personal information match with their Aadhaar details. The following steps have to be followed to generate the APAAR ID:

·         Visit the official website of Academic Bank of Credits (ABC)

·         Click on 'My Account' and further select 'Student'

·         Click 'Sign Up' and enter mobile number, address and Aadhaar Card details to create a DigiLocker account, or click on 'Sign in' in case account already exists

·         Give consent to share Aadhaar card details with ABC for KYC verification by clicking on 'I Agree' checkbox

·         Enter the academic details

·         Submit the form to generate APAAR ID.

APAAR ID is added to DigiLocker for secure online access.

As the lower age limit to appear for NEET 2025 is 17 years, the minimum date of birth for candidates must be December 31, 2008.

As per NTA, the size of the scanned copy of documents to be uploaded to the NEET 2025 application form is between 50 KB to 300 KB. This applies to the following documents:

• Category Certificate
• Class 10 or equivalent Certificate
• Class 10 or equivalent mark sheet
• If Class 10 or Equivalent Marks are in CGPA, then scanned copy of Conversion / Equivalent Certificate
• Scanned copy of Address Proof (Present and Permanent) 
• Scanned copy of NRI / OCI/ Foreigner Certificate/ Documentary Proof (for candidates with nationality other than Indian).

Candidates have to follow this instruction while uploading thumb impressions to the NEET application form 2025, as stated by NTA, "Left and Right hands Fingers and Thumb impressions with file name as <'first two characters of candidate name'> _Fingerprint’ and in JPG/JPEG format between 10 kb to 200 kb."

Regarding the upload of scanned signatures, NTA has stated, "Signature file should be named as <'first two characters of candidate name'> _Signature' and in JPG/JPEG format between 10 kb to 50 kb." 

Regarding the postcard-size photo to be uploaded to the NEET 2025 application form, NTA has stated, "Postcard (4x6) Size Photo with file name as <'first two characters of candidate name'> _Postcardphoto’ and in JPG/JPEG format between 10 kb to 200 kb."

NTA has stated the instructions regarding the passport size photograph for NEET 2025 application form. "The recent passport size photograph should be either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background. Photograph should be named as ‘ _Photo' and in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible) between 10 kb to 200 kb."

Candidates should keep the following things or factors ready before filling the NEET 2025 application form:

• Valid ad functional email id and mobile number

Till last year, candidates could select two cities, but this yer, they can select three cities at the NEET 2025 application form.
