The NEET 2025 registration process has started on February 7, 2025, at the official website, www.neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to complete the application process is March 7, 2025, 11.50 PM. The NEET 2025 registration process has started on February 7, 2025, at the official website, www.neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to complete the application process is March 7, 2025, 11.50 PM. The application fee has to be paid by the same date. The NEET 2025 exam date has also been announced, which is May 4, 2025.

The NEET 2025 application process is completely online. Even though the NEET 2025 website and the interface has changed, the application fee has remained the same as last year. NTA has also announced the NEET 2025 important dates for each event, apart from the date of the NEET 2025 provisional answer keys.

    A:

    The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET 2025 exam date on February 7, 2025. The exam will be conducted on May 4, 2025. Along with the NEET 2025 exam date, NTA has announced the complete schedule of events or the NEET 2025 important dates. The NEET 2025 registration process was conducted from February 7 to March 7, 2025.

    Documents Required for NEET 2025 PWBD Candidates

    PWBD candidates applying for NEET 2025 need to upload or present the following documents and know the sizes as well.

    • The size of the scanned copy of the PwD/PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card with both sides in same pdf should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.  
    • The size of the scanned copy of the Medical Certificate issued by 5 doctor bench should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible), wherever applicable.

    NEET 2025 Application Form Qualifying Codes

    NEET 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria

    The NEET 2025 tie-breaking criteria have been revised this year. A new criterion has been launched, which is ‘resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.’ Apart from that, rest of the criteria have remained the same. The complete NEET 2025 criteria are given below.

    1. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,
    2. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,
    3. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the Test, followed by,
    4. Candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test,
    5. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by
    6. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test, followed by
    7. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by
    8. In case, a-g criteria are exhausted and the tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.

    Last year, instead of the random process, NTA announced ‘Draw of lots by using the computer or IT with no human intervention’. However, this criterion was removed soon after and only the first seven points were applicable.

    Document Proof of Citizenship for NEET UG 2025 Application Form

    For candidates whose nationality is Non-Resident Indian (NRI) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Foreign citizen, the following documents will have to be uploaded:

    Guidelines for NEET UG 2025 Application Form Thumb Impression Upload

    The guidelines for uploading the left-hand thumb impression are as follows:

    • The candidate should put Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impressions as per the Template provided.

    The guidelines for uploading signatures on the NEET 2025 application form are as follows:

    • The scanned signature should be between 4 KB to 30 KB.

    • The file format should be JPG only.

    • The signature should be made on black ballpoint pen on white paper. 

    • The signature should be made in running letters and not in full capital letters.

    • In case someone else’s signature has been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

    Guidelines for NEET UG 2025 Application Form Photograph Upload

    Apart from complying with the document file format and size, candidates should also follow the guidelines shared by NTA in terms of uploading the photograph, signature and left and right-hand fingers and thumb impressions.

    The guidelines regarding photographs are as follows:

    • The photograph should not be less than three months old.

    • The photograph should be either in colour or black and white with 80 per cent face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.

    • The size of the scanned passport photograph should be between 10 KB to 200 KB (clearly legible).

    • The size of the scanned Postcard photograph (4”x6”) should be between 10 KB - 200 KB (clearly legible).

    How to Retrieve Forgotten NEET 2025 Application Password

    Once the NEET registration process is completed and the login credentials are generated, candidates are advised to save and preserve those for future usage. In case candidates are unable to login, they should first check whether the NEET application number, password and security pin or captcha entered are correct or not. In case either of the information is wrong, it will not be possible to login. In that case, they have to click on the Forgot Your Password or Forgot Your Application tabs and retrieve it either through Security Question or through Reset Link sent to their registered email address. In case of retrieving the NEET application number, they have to enter their names, email addresses and Security PINs and submit.     Has the NEET 2025 exam pattern changed?

    Yes, the NEET 2025 exam pattern has been changed. NTA announced the change in the exam pattern on January 25, 2025, to enable candidates prepare accordingly. The optional questions have been removed. Instead of 200 questions, there will now be 180 questions. The total duration of NEET 2025 has been reduced from 200 minutes to 180 minutes or three hours now. Announcing the same, NTA has stated, “Aspirants are hereby informed that the question paper pattern and examination duration will revert to the pre-COVID format. where there will not be any Section B anymore. Hence, there will be a total of 180 compulsory questions (45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and 90 in Biology) which will be attempted by the candidates in 180 minutes thereby removing any optional questions and extra time introduced due to COVID.”

    What is APAAR ID and why is it relevant for NEET 2025 Registration?

    APAAR stands for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It is a unique identity number which is specialised identification system designed for Indian students, wherein they can digitally store their academic details such as mark sheets, scorecards, etc. APAAR ID is a unique 12-digit code which acts as a permanent digital identity for students. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the NEET conducting body, has announced that the APAAR ID will be implemented for the registration of NEET UG to ensure transparency and efficiency. For this, the authorities have advised candidates to link their Aadhaar ID with the APAAR ID for a seamless verification process and to enhance the integrity of the examination process.

    Is APAAR ID Mandatory for NEET 2025 Registration

    APAAR ID is not mandatory to register for NEET 2025, NTA has clarified in an official notification dated January 24, 2025. Even though use of APAAR ID is implemented by NTA for NEET UG 2025 this year onwards, and candidates are encouraged to integrate it with their Aadhaar details, it is not made mandatory, as was suggested in the notification dated January 14, 2025.

    In case the NEET 2025 application fee amount is deducted from the account but there is no confirmation from NTA, candidates should wait for a while, or login again and check the application status. If it says incomplete, then they should complete the process. In case the payment process is incomplete but the amount is deducted, it will be refunded to the account. In case of further difficulty, they should contact the NTA Helpline to seek help.

    My session expired while filling the NEET application form. What should I do?

    If the NEET application form is left idle for 30 minutes after logging in, the session will expire. In case the session expires due to loss of internet connection, then the form will be saved till the last completed section. In case candidates were in the middle of a section and it was not saved, then they will have to restart it. Unless candidates fill the NEET form at the last moment, they should not worry about the session expiry. Hence, candidates are advised to fill the NEET 2025 application form well on time and not wait for the last moment to complete it.

    NTA Advisory Regarding NEET 2025 Application Form Document Upload

    NTA has laid down the following advisory regarding NEET 2025 application form document upload:

    i. The recent photograph should be either in colour or black and white with 80 per cent face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.
    ii. Scanned photograph, signature, and Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impression should be in JPG format (clearly legible).
    iii. The size of the scanned passport photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
    iv. The size of the scanned Postcard photograph (4”x6”) should be between 10 kb - 200 kb (clearly legible).
    v. The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb (clearly legible)
    vi. The size of scanned and Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impressions as per the Template provided (Appendix-XVIII) should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
    vii. The size of the scanned copy of the PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible).

    NEET 2025 Application Form - Advisory Regarding Photograph and Signature

    Regarding the photograph, signature and finger and thumb impression upload at NEET 2025 application form, NTA has stated, "Please check your photograph and signature before submission of the Application Form. In case the photograph or signature is blurred or not visible to identify the identity of the candidate then, the application will be rejected and no option for correction or revision will be permitted. The Candidate has to upload only his/her own photograph, signature, Left and Right hand Fingers and Thumb impression, and certificate(s) as mentioned above (and not of anybody else) in a correct/proper manner, as the facility for correction will not be given in future."

    The NEET 2025 Application Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment by the Candidate. In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee, then the candidate may have to approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway (in the helpline number and e-mail given in the Information Bulletin) to ensure the successful payment or to obtain the refund of duplicate/multiple payments.

    NEET aspirants or students should have the following information handy to generate their APAAR ID:

    c. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the Test, followed by,

    d. Candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test,

    e. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by

    f. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test, followed by

    g. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by

    h. In case, a-g criteria are exhausted and the tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.

    Condition to Get Scribe Permit for PWBD NEET Candidates

    The facility of Scribe and/or compensatory time shall be granted solely to those having difficulty in writing or 40 per cent benchmark difficulty subject to the production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has limitation to write and that Scribe is essential to write the examination on his/her behalf from the competent medical authority of a Government healthcare institution. Compensatory time of not less than 20 minutes per hour of the examination should be allowed for persons who are eligible for getting a Scribe.

    Types of Medical Seats Offered Through NEET Scores

    The following are the seats available under different quotas through NEET scores:

    • All India Quota Seats

    • State Government Quota Seats

    • Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities

    • State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private University  

    • Central Pool Quota Seats

    • All seats including NRI Quota as well as Management Quota, are in private unaided/aided minority / non-minority medical colleges.

    • AIIMS Institutes across India/JIPMER.

    • The Counselling for successful candidates for Seats under 15% All India Quota and 100% including 85% State quota seats of Central Institutions (ABVIMS & RML Hospital/VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital/ESIC)/ Central Universities (including DU/ BHU /AMU)/ AIIMS/ JIPMER and Deemed Universities, will be conducted by the MCC/DGHS for Undergraduate Medical / Dental Courses.

    MCC only does the registration for AFMC and forwards the data of registered Candidates to AFMC Authorities for the admission process. DU/BHU and other universities may use the score for any other relevant courses they offer.

    NEET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for OCI and PIO Candidates

    The OCI Cardholder (including a PIO card holder) is a foreign national holding a passport of a foreign country and is not a citizen of India. Similarly, the PIO cardholder and foreign nationals shall not be eligible for admission against any seat reserved exclusively for Indian citizens.  Hence, OCI/PIO will be treated as foreigners and be eligible for NRI seats only and will not be eligible for Indian National Seats including paid seats of deemed universities.

The NRI and OCI Applicants/Candidates have to upload a Certificate from the concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in the country of their residence in support of their claim as an NRI/OCI Candidate, along with their online Application Form for NEET (UG) - 2025 and retain the original of such document for producing it at the time of Counselling/Admission to the Courses covered under NEET (UG).

    Documents Required for Non-Indian Candidates for NEET 2025 Application

    Candidates who are NRI or OCI have to upload the following documents at the NEET 2025 application form:

    • Scanned copy of the first and last page of the Passport wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, as well as the date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority of the Passport, are clearly mentioned.

    Or

    • Citizenship Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate, wherein the Citizenship/Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority, are clearly mentioned.

    Or

    Any other Document issued by a Government Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate (including OCI Card issued by the MHA or concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in case of OCT Candidate only), wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue and Issuing Authority of the Document, are clearly mentioned.

    NEET 2025 Registration Live: Size of Uploading Documents

    As per NTA, the size of the scanned copy of documents to be uploaded to the NEET 2025 application form is between 50 KB to 300 KB. This applies to the following documents:
