TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao says, Modi Ji, You are the PM of India, not just Gujarat.
Telangana minister KT Rama Rao has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he is discriminating against the state while approving government medical colleges.
His tweet reads, "Modi Ji, You are the PM of India, not just Gujarat. What about the lakhs of young boys & girls of Telangana whom you’ve denied the opportunity to become doctors by NOT sanctioning even one medical college in the last 8 years? Why this discrimination against a performing state?"
The tweet was in reaction to PM Modi's interaction with beneficiaries of the government schemes in Gujarat.
Health Minister lays foundation stone of new GMC in Telangana
Health Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a new government medical college and hospital at a cost of INR 550 crore. The health minister also revealed that Mahabubabad will soon receive a project worth INR 8.60 crore, including new primary health centres, upgrade of existing Health Centres, and other facilities that will give the district a significant boost.
“Taking inspiration from the movement, the new district was created for the Mahabubabad area. And several measures are being taken to develop this backward area. As a part of it,, we have today laid the foundation for the construction of the medical college building,” he said, as reported by Telangana Today.
“There were only three government colleges and 700 medical seats in the Telangana region in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State. But 33 medical colleges will come up in 33 districts due to special measures taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao,” Rao said.
