SK Mishra appointed 17th Registrar of IKGPTU

IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) has got regular Registrar after eight years. The last regular Registrar of the varsity was HS Bains. He moved to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, in 2014.

SK Mishra has been appointed as the 17th Registrar of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU). Earlier, Mishra was serving as Finance Officer at the university and was also handling the additional charge of the post of the Registrar. 

Mishra took over the regular post of the Registrar on Wednesday. On the occasion, an event ‘Aagman’ was organised wherein he was welcomed by all senior officers of the university. The university has been functioning without a regular registrar since January 2014. The last regular Registrar of the varsity was HS Bains. He was appointed to the post in 2011, but later moved to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, in 2014.  

Ever since he left, the university has had officiating registrars and all of them have held the post as an additional charge. IKGPTU Vice-Chancellor Rahul Bhandari, who attended the ceremony through online mode, congratulated Mishra on the occasion. 

Mishra was also given the additional responsibility of the post of Registrar in April 2022. Vice-Chancellor Rahul Bhandari, who is also the Principal Secretary of the Department of Technical Education, had got the post advertised for the appointment of Registrar as per the set notified rules, under which Mishra got this opportunity after completing the process.  

Mishra had earlier served as Registrar at Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar on deputation from IKGPTU. He has also been selected as Registrar in Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh. Mishra has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of education administration, technical education, finance and accounts, research, skill development, public policy and management.
