CUET UG 2024 exam will be conducted from May 15 to May 31, 2024. NTA released the official notification for CUET UG exam date on September 19, 2023 . Candidates will be notified about the exam details soon after the release of notification. NTA will conduct CUET UG 2024 exam in multiple phases depending upon the number of candidates registering for the exam. Registered candidates will know the exact CUET UG exam on release of the hall ticket. CUET UG 2024 exam will be a computer based test i.e., candidates will have to report at the alloted exam centre on the day of the examination. The exam will be held in two to three slots each day depending upon the subject combinations chosen by the candidate.

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score is accepted by more than 250 universities (central, state, private and deemed) across India. On the basis of the CUET UG score, candidates are offered admission to UG programme of the participating colleges. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG is an entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduation programs offered by various central, state, private and deemed universities. The CUET UG exam is conducted by NTA for admission to Central and other universities of India. University Grants Commission (UGC) was the erstwhile conducting authority of the exam, till 2019, after which NTA was assigned the responsibility to conduct the exam. Candidates will be able to opt up to a maximum of 10 subject in order to apply to different applicable courses that require these subjects for being eligible for admissions. Section 3- General test

NTA reopened the CUET UG 2023 application window for three days, from April 9 to April 11, 11.59 PM. This was the second phase of the CUET 2023 application process. Originally, CUET 2023 application forms were released on February 10 and the application window was open till March 30. NTA extended the last date of application from March 12 in order to provide opportunity to candidates in terms of selecting more programmes/courses and universities. Students who missed the chance to apply for the CUET 2023 exam could utilise this opportunity to the fullest.

CUET UG section 1 is divided into two parts. 13 languages will be included in Section 1- part A and 20 languages will be included in section 1- part B. Check below to know the languages in each part:

NTA prescribes the CUET UG marking scheme. Check below to know the CUET UG marking scheme 2023:

• Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
• Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
• Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
• If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
• If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
• If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

The CUET questions are objective and carries multiple choices (MCQs). Each question will have four answer options. Candidates will have to deduce the correct answer option and click on it with the help of mouse. Since CUET UG 2024 exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode, test-takers will be able to mark only one answer option. In case it is the correct option, they will get full marks and in case of wrong answer, negative marking scheme will be applied. Hence, candidates must ensure the accuracy of the answer before selecting the answer. Before the final submission, they can change the answer option in case they realise that they have entered a wrong answer option earlier.

No, the CUET 2024 syllabus does not include the chapters or topics from Class 11 syllabus. The exam, which is conducted for multiple subjects and languages, has to be prepared by completing the Class 12 syllabus only. NTA has also released the subject-wise syllabus of the CUET UG 2024 exam, which will be held from May 15 to May 31, 2024 in CBT mode. However, students may refer to the Class 11 syllabus for better conceptual clarity and to make the base of the domain subjects stronger. But as far as the actual syllabus is concerned, it will only be based on Class 12 CBSE or NCERT syllabus.

Since the CUET syllabus is in line with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus, it can be safely assumed that the NCERT books are enough to cover the syllabus of the exam. Candidates must note that, CUET exam tests students' understanding of the concepts and ability to apply them in various situations. Therefore, to prepare well and get a good score, it is advised that students refer to other study materials and books designed for national level competitive entrance exams. The CUET UG syllabus is in tune with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus. The chapters and topics are similar to Class 12 syllabus. Unlike other UG entrance exams, CUET UG syllabus does not include Class 11 syllabus.

Yes, CUET UG syllabus for section 1 is same for all sections included. NTA suggests the syllabus for all the sections. The syllabus for CUET Language section will be inclusive of following topics, but are not limited to:

CUET UG 2023 admit card dates will be announced prior to the alloted date of examination. Admit for each phase will be released separately on seperate dates. Candidates are supposed to download the admit cards in online mode by logging in with their registration credentials when released. Prior to the release of the admit card, NTA releases the Advance Intimation to Exam City Slip which mentions candidates' exam city, date and paper. The intimation slip is released to help candidates make arrangement for the examination prior to the date of examination. CUET exam intimation slip is not an admit card. The CUET UG 2023 provisional answer key has been released on June 28. Candidates were given an opportunity to submit challenges or objections against the keys by following the stipulated date and format. However, NTA, recently announced, ''Although the key challenge period is over, for the next few days, NTA will be posting the corrected provisional keys every night, and candidates can still write to NTA indicating possible errors. During this phase, candidates need not pay any fee. Candidates may please visit the NTA website for details.'' The final answer keys will be released along with the result anytime soon. 

Yes, candidates will have to pay fee for challenging the CUET UG provisional answer key. National Testing Agency (NTA) released the CUeT UG 2023 provisional answer key on June 29, 2023. Candidates who appeared for the exam could challenge the CUEt 2023 provisional answer key till July 01, 2023. Candidates challenging the answer key could challenge one or more responses and had to pay the fee of INR 200 for each question challenge. Students had to submit the valid proof to challenge the answer key. On the basis of the challenges received, authorities released the CUET final answer key. The CUET 2023 final answer key was released on July 12, 2023. With the help of the final answer key candidates could calculate their probable score before the declaration of CUET UG result 2023.

National testing Agency (NTA) releases the provisional CUET answer key soon after the exam is conducted. In the CUET UG provisional answer key candidates can check the correct options for each question and their markes responses. On release of the CUET UG provisional answer key, candidates are given the opportunity to challenge the answer key before the declaration of results. In case of any discrepancy in the answers provided by the conducting body, candidates can raise objections with justification/evidence. If found correct, CUET answer key is revised and is released soon after.

The CUET UG cut off is determined by CUET participating universities seperately. Parameters on the basis of which CUET UG cut off is released are:

• Total number of candidates that appeared for the CUET UG exam
• The number of seats offered by the participating universities through CUET UG
• The difficulty level of the CUET exam
• Overall performance of the test takers (pass percentage/ score range, etc.)

CUET cut off is based on the percentile of the candidate. To calculate the CUET percentile following formula is applied:

100*Number of candidates appeared in the session with a raw score is equal to or less than a candidate/ total number of candidates appeared for CUET UG.

Students can access the CUET UG cut off list only after the cut offs are released by the CUET UG participating universities. The following steps should be followed to access the CUET cut off list of universities candidate is desirous to take admission in.

• On the homepage, click on the link to the current academic session CUET Cut Off
• A new login page will open on screen. Enter the credentials and submit
• Now, you can access the CUET UG cut off list when released

The above steps will be applicable only if instittues release the CUET UG cut offs. Otherwise, if the institutes release merit lists carrying their scores, then the minimum score would be considered as the CUET UG cut off. Universities like Delhi University does not released CUET cut off. Candidates will know the college/course allocated on the basis of the preferences filled by the candidate while filling the application form.

On analysing the CUET UG cut off for the academic year 2023-24, scoring above 700 marks can be considered a good score in CUET UG. Candidates scoring above 700 may fall in the category of 95+ percentile. Candidates can get admission to top universities like University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and other top central universities in the desired course. Given below is the range that is considered good for admission to top universities:

• Very Good Score: 700 and above
• Good Score: 650 and above

Score range between 400-649 is considered an average score. Admission on the basis of the average score can et into any decent college in India accepting CUET scores. 

The CUET UG 2023 result has been announced on July 15. Earlier, it was scheduled to be released in the first week of July. Earlier, UGC had announced the tentative date of result through an official notice released in December 2022. As per that notice, UGC and NTA are aiming to complete the CUET exam by July so that the academic session can commence on time.

Yes. There is a negative marking in the CUET exam. For each wrong answer, one mark is deducted. Negative marking will not be applicable in case of unattempted questions. The marking scheme as per NTA is given below.

Through CUET, one can secure admission in various UG courses offered by 41 Central Universities, 36 State Universities, 29 Deemed Universities and 110 Private Universities and three other universities of India. The courses are offered across Science, Humanities, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Management and other streams. The number of participating institutes has increased exponentially this year.

The counselling or the admission process is conducted separately for each institute based on their own eligibility and admission criteria. National Testing Agency (NTA) has no role in conducting counselling process for CUET UG admissions. The number of CUET UG counseling rounds differs among universities, with an average of three rounds per university.

The frequency of CUET counselling rounds is dependent on the availability of vacant seats and differs from one university to another. Typically, CUET accepting colleges conducts three rounds of counselling, but this count can fluctuate based on the remaining vacancies after each round. CUET counseling is overseen by the NTA, and only candidates meeting the CUET cut-off criteria are deemed eligible for the examination. From the year 2021 onwards, CUET is conducted in computer-based mode. Till 2020, the exam was conducted in paper-pencil based (PBT) mode. The exam will continue to be conducted in the computer-based mode or online mode. CUET UG 2023 counselling process was announced by the participating universities in the first week of August. The process is being conducted separately by the universities and it will not be a centralised counselling system. The CUET 2023 counselling process will have the following stages:

• Each participating institute will release its individual rank list of candidates who are eligible to participate in the counselling process of CUET 2023.
• Candidates will have to register online and then appear in online counselling followed by offline counselling.
• Upon seat allotment, candidates will have to pay the admission fee and report to institutes to accept the admission offer.
