CUET PG 2024: Exam Dates (March 11-28), Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern & Other Updates

Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or CUET PG is an all-India level entrance exam which is being introduced for admission into PG programmes in Central and participating Universities. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from North East and from rural and other remote areas and help to establish better connect with the Universities. A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities. 

The number of exam centres in India for CUET PG 2023 has been reduced. Now the exam centres for CUET PG 2023 examination in India are 313 which was 554 centres last year. However, the number of exam centres outside India has been increased. Now the exam centres outside India are 24, which was just 13 last year. CUET PG 2024 exam centre details will be notified later. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode for two hours. Till last year, the exam was known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Prior to 2021, UGC used to conduct the test in a paper-pencil-based mode.

CUET PG 2024 Application form is expected to be released online by NTA on the official website of the exam web page in the third week of March. Candidates can fill CUET application form in online mode on the official website- link will e provided after the release of CUET PG application form. The first step is to register by entering the basic details such as name, address and contact details. This will generate login credentials. After logging in with the registration credentials, candidates will have to fill up the CUET 2024 application form with their personal and academic details, programme and exam city preference and upload documents. After the form is filled, candidates will have to pay the CUET application fee online via debit/credit card, Net Banking, Paytm and UPI. The application fees for CUET PG 2023 has been increased from last year. Since the CUET PG 2024 application forms are not out, therefore the fees details are not mentioned here. For each additional paper, candidates will have to pay the following application fees.

CUET PG 2024 offer post graduate degree to the candidates who are appearing in the CUET PG Examination. The post graduate include MSc, MA, MTech, etc courses in the participating universities. Here are the list of some courses offered by participating univeristy/colleges via CUET PG 2024 exam;

H2-  CUET PG 2024 Exam Slots and Timing

The following table brings the CUET 2024 exam timings (tentative) for both slots.

CUET PG 2024 provides postgraduate degrees at central, state, deemed, and private universities across the nation. The number of participating universities in the CUET PG 2023 exam has accelerated in comparison to last year. In 2022, the number of universities that adopted CUET PG was only 66, however, this year it has increased to 197. 

CUET PG 2024 information brochure mentioning the participating universities has not released yet, for reference candidates can check the previous year participtaing universities.

CUET PG 2024 Exam Pattern will consist of 100 questions and the question paper will be divided into two parts. Part A will consist of 25 questions on Language Comprehension/Verbal Ability and Part B will consist of 75 domain-specific questions. Below is the table mentions the detailed CUET PG 2024 Exam Pattern: 

Candidates must note that the Language Comprehension/Verbal Ability section is compulsory. The General Test also has to be taken by candidates opting for all test papers except Education (PGQP01).

CUET PG 2024 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme of the CUET PG 2024 exam is as follows:

i) Each question carries four marks.

ii) For each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted from the total score.

iii) Unanswered/unattempted responses will not be given any marks.

The syllabus for CUET PG 2024 will be released by NTA for each paper after the releasing of application form. The level of the syllabus is that of the undergraduate level. CUET is an all-India entrance exam that is highly competitive and candidates appearing for the exam need to have a strategy and aim to score well and qualify. Aspirants can go through the following prep strategy methods while preparing for CUET PG 2024.

• First and foremost, candidates should go through the exam pattern and structure of the test. After that, students should get hold of some of the best books for CUET PG preparation.

• After gaining conceptual clarity on each section and subject, students should segregate their areas of strengths and weaknesses they should work towards improving their weaknesses by finding out the root cause and taking help from their mentors or students.

• After completing the syllabus, they should take regular mock tests and analyse their performance. Solving previous years’ question papers will also expose them to the topics and question types to expect in the actual exam.

• Last but not least, staying confident is the key to success in CUET PG.

CUET PG 2024 Mock Test will be released eight to ten days prior to the commencement of the CUET PG 2024 Examination. The mock test is an important feature of preparing for CUET 2024. NTA will provide the official CUET 2024 mock test in an online mode. The practice questions will be made available for all subjects and languages. The online CUET mock test 2024 will be on the official exam website wherein students can get an understanding of the navigation system. By taking the official CUET UG mock test 2024, aspirants will be able to practice the usage of a virtual keyboard and calculator, moving from question to question and among sections. To improve their preparation, students should take the mock tests released by coaching institutes or experts which would have given them questions from actual sections of the expected difficulty level. Along with taking the mock test, it is equally important to analyse it. After a thorough analysis, it is important to implement the pointers of analysis within one’s preparation to succeed in the exam.

Since the exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode, candidates did not get hold of the CUET PG 2023 question papers on the day of the exam. However, NTA will release the question papers online on its official website along with the answer keys. Candidates will also be able to download their response sheets. The CUET PG question papers carried 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

CUET PG 2024 Advance City Intimation Slip will be released in the phase wise manner. It is expected that the CUET PG 2024 advance city intimation slip will be released in the first week of March. The CUET PG 2024 City Intimation Slip contains crucial details such as the examination date, shift, subjects/test papers, and chosen medium of the online application. However, candidates who have opted for subjects not mentioned in the slip and also the CUET PG 2024 examination centre name will not be mentioned.

How to Download CUET PG 2024 Advance City Intimation Slip

Candidates have to follow the steps given below to download the CUET PG 2024 advance city slip:

• Click on the tab indicating Advance City Intimation Slip

• Log in by entering the CUET PG 2024 application number and date of birth in the drop-down menu

• Enter Security Pin

• Click on Submit

• Select the exam paper code

• View the CUET PG 2024 Advance Examination City Slip and note the exam city

Candidates must note that this is not the admit card. But it is rather an advance information of the city where their exam centre will be located so that they can plan accordingly.

CUET PG 2024 Examination will be conducted in different phases across the country and at foreign CUET PG 2024 exam centres from March 11 to March 28, 2028. NTA, the examination conducting body will release the CUET PG 2024 Admit cards in different phases depending on the schedule of the commencement of the particular exam subject.

The candidates are advised to carefully read the Subject-Specific Instructions and other instructions mentioned in the Question paper and abide by the same. There are some candidates who have not received their Admit Card for the above dates will get the same in subsequent phases. 

How to Download CUET PG Admit Card 2024

Candidates had to follow the steps given below to download the CUET PG admit card 2024:

• Visit the official website of CUET PG 2024 –  Link will be provided soon

• Click on the tab indicating CUET PG 2024 admit card download or Sign In tab

• Enter the CUET PG 2024 application number and date of birth or password along with the Security Pin

• Select the checkboxes with your present health conditions

• Click on Submit

• Check and download the CUET PG 2024 admit card in PDF format.

The Test Centres of CUET PG 2024 are expected to be located in 313 cities across India and abroad. As many as 24 international cities have been chosen by NTA (for 2023 examination), candidates can expect more exam centres for the academic session 2024-2025. Candidates will have to select as many as two test cities while filling out the application form for CUET PG 2024 in preferential order. The application fee will also vary as per the selection of the Indian and international Test Centres of CUET PG 2024. Once the test centre is allotted in the admit card, candidates' requests to change the test city will not be entertained. However, NTA has the right to change the test centre of CUET PG 2024 depending on external factors. NTA will also release an advance city intimation slip for candidates before releasing of the admit card.

CUET PG 2024 Examiantion is scheduled to be held from March 11 to March 28, 2024. Since the examination is yet to commence, CUET PG 2024 analysis is not provided here. For reference candidates can check the CUET PG previous year's analysis.

Till June 27 of the examination, it has been observed that the NTA has set the CUET PG 2023 question paper of merely all the subjects as moderate. As asked by the candidates who appeared in the examination today, students responded that CUET PG Analysis for Section A was easy to attempt. The questions on Language Comprehension had questions from unseen passages. Many questions were asked from the General Knowledge domain. Section B is subject-specific, therefore the difficulty level varies from subject to subject. Overall the difficulty level of CUET PG 2023 exam is found to be moderate.

CUET PG 2023 examination has started on June 5, 2023. The CUET 2023 analysis is being provided after each slot or shift of the exam. CUET PG 2023 exam is being conducted for multiple subjects and streams in three slots each day. CUET PG analysis of the first slot of June 5, 2023, the difficulty level of the various subject papers of CUET PG 2023 exam was found to be easy to moderate. The difficulty level will vary for each subject and topic. Students have termed the General Test to be of easy level of difficulty, whereas the Specific subject test was moderate to dicfficult . Although no technical glitches were reported from the centres till Slot 1, in some of the CUET centres.

The Language Test and General Test sections were of easy to moderate levels. Students are advised to check the last year's CUET PG student reactions below.

CUET PG 2023  Student Reactions

NTA is expected to release CUET PG 2024 Provisional Answer Key in the second week of April. CUET PG answer keys 2024 will be announced for all the CUET PG exam papers along with the candidate responses. Test-takers will also get the opportunity to raise objections against CUET PG 2024 provisional answer keys. The fee to submit an objection against each answer key will be INR 200. 

CUET PG 2024 Final Answer Key will be released for all the subjects for which the CUET PG 2024 examination will be conducted in the fourth week of April, 2024. The final answer key announced by the NTA can not be further challenged.

Candidates may calculate the probable score by matching the response sheet and CUET final answer key.

For the academic year 2023-2024, candidates must note that the authority has dropped 562 questions from all papers taken together. As per the marking scheme, if a question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks will be awarded to all the candidates irrespective of the fact who have attempted the question or not.

CUET PG 2024 Result will be declared by the examination conducting body, NTA on the official website in the third week of April, 2024. The result of CUET 2024 will be released online in the form of scorecards. The CUET PG 2024 result carried information such as candidates’ personal details, section-wise and overall scores, and percentiles. The result will be declared in the form of a scorecard which had to be downloaded in PDF format.

CUET PG 2023 Counselling process has been started by the participating universities of the CUET PG 2023 examination after the declaration of the CUET PG 2023 Results. CUET PG Cut Off

The CUET PG 2023 cutoff is expected to be released separately by the participating universities. The cutoff refers to the minimum marks one has to secure in order to qualify for the exam. While NTA will release the qualifying cutoff, participating institutes will release separate cutoffs for each programme offered by them. The CUET PG 2023 Exam Cut Off  will depend on the factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of test-takers, and seats, among others.
