IISER Aptitude Test difficulty level is comparatively easier than JEE Main exam difficulty level. There are four sections in the exam, and all have equal weightage. Mentioned below are the details for the same:

• Biology: This section might sound a tough nut to crack for the PCM students, but a reasonable understanding of class 11 and 12 NCERT concepts can help you sail through this section. Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research conduct an entrance exam in order to provide admission to candidates in the five year long BSMS dual degree programme offered by them. On the basis of a candidates score in the IISER Entrance Exam also known as IISER aptitude test, he/she can secure admission at IISER located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, or Tirupati. Candidates who cleared their Class 12 in the Science stream are eligible to apply for the IISER Entrance Exam 2023. As per the IISER Entrance Exam pattern, there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration.

Earlier there was three chaneels through which candidates can ge admissions to the courses offered at IISER institions, IISc Banglore and IIT Madras. From the academic session 2025, admisisons were made through IAT exam channel only and other two channels were discontinued.

There were three channels for admission:

1. IAT Channel a. Candidates seeking admission through this channel must appear for a computer-based IISER Aptitude Test (IAT-2025).
2. KVPY Channel The KVPY-SA-2021 students who have received the provisional KVPY fellowship award are eligible to apply for admission. A. Candidates in the extended KVPY merit list are not eligible.
3. JEE Channel a. Candidates seeking admission under JEE channel should have qualified in the JEE Advanced in the year 2023, AND should have a rank within 15000 in the common rank list or in the respective category rank lists (GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD). B. Those who qualified JEE Advanced in any year other than 2023 are not eligible. C. Candidates with JEE Advanced preparatory ranks are not eligible. Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2023.

IISER 2025 entrance examination for the academic session 2025-2026 will be conducted online/ computer-based test. Candidates will get a the nearest ION digital zone as their examination centre and will give the IISER 2025 entrance examination on the computer.

The IISER Entrance Exam 2025 pattern has been specified for this year's examination. It has been observed that the IISER Entrance Exam 2025 pattern remains to be same as of the previous year of IISER Entrance Exam which was also conducted in online mode I. e. computer-based. IISER Pune cutoff 2024 has been released across BS and BS-MS specialisations. The last-round seat allotment for IISER Pune conclued at 1023 for all BS-MS Specialisations under the General AI category. Comparing to IISER Pune cutoff 2022, the cutoff has been improved with an increase in the ranks in 2024.

The expected application fee for IISER Entrance Exam 2025 of various categories is as follow:

 1. INR 2,000/- for candidates applying under General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories.

2. INR 1,000/- for candidates applying under persons with disabilities, persons registered as Kashmir migrants and SC/ST category.

3. INR 8,500/- for foreign nationals. Candidates must note that the application fee is non-refundable.

At the time of online application, a candidate will be shown 9 programmes across 7 IISERs or 7 programs across 7 IISERs if the candidate did not have Mathematics as a subject in class 12 or equivalent and is not eligible for BS Economic Sciences and BS Engineering Sciences. Candidate is required to make a preference list from among these programs for which the candidate wants to be considered for an admission. The preference order must be from the most preferred first preference to the least preferred or last preference. The preference list must contain at least one IISER programme. A candidate will be considered only to those IISER programs which are in the candidates preference list. Consequently, a candidate will not be considered for an admission to an IISER programme that is not mentioned in the candidates preference list.

IISER 2025 exam notification releases for admissions to the five-year BS-MS dual degree and four-year BS degree programmes. IISER Entrance Exam 2025 will be conducted on May 25, 2025, to test candidate's domain knowledge for the courses offered by IISERs. Interested applicants will be able to fill out the IISER 2025 application form from March 3, 2025 onwards.

Given below is a list of documents/certificates whose scanned copies are to be uploaded at the time of online application for IAT 2025. The formats of the certificates are given in the Annexure.

The scanned copies of the actual marks sheet must be uploaded on or before July 7, 2025, failing which you will not be allotted a seat in any of the IISERs.

According to the event dates released by IISER for the academic year 2025, the IAT 2025 result is expected to be declared in the second week of June, 2025. Candidates will be able to download their IAT 2025 results by visiting its official website. Students are advised that the results of the IISER Entrance Exam will be available online on the official website of IISER Admissions. Candidates are required to log in and check the results released. Before the IISER Entrance Exam results are released, the IISER Entrance Exam Answer Key will be released so that students can challenge the answers.

Candidates need to enter the application number and password/date of birth as the login details to check your IAT result. Other than this, security question or the captcha that is provided on the login page. If you have forgotten your application number then you will need your registered mobile number and email to retrieve the application number. 

The candidates are advised to keep the application number saved to avoid any hassle while downloading the IAT result. 

IISER Entrance exam 2025 results will be announced in the fourth week of June, 2025, tentatively. Test takers who successfully appeared in the IAT 2204 exam will be able to download their score card by visiting the official website of IISER 2025.

You can re-generate your IISER application number by clicking on the Forgot Application link available on the account login window. The steps to get the application number have been given below for the candidates:

a) Go to the application window/result window 

b) Click on the forgot application number link

c) Fill out the details asked

d) The application number will be sent to the registered mobile number and email.

Candidates can check out their e-mail where at the time of registration, IAT exam authority must have sent the application number on successful registration. 

Candidates can go through the following information :

• If a candidate receives an admission offer, he/she can either choose to accept the seat or reject it. If a candidate rejects the offered seat or if no action is taken by the candidate before the deadline, then the candidate will not be able to participate in further rounds of counselling.
• If a candidate receives an offer, then to accept the seat offered, the student must pay a seat acceptance fee through online mode before the prescribed deadline. If the seat acceptance fee is not paid, the candidate will not be considered for admission in subsequent allocation rounds.

After accepting the offer and paying seat acceptance fee, the candidate can exercise two options:

• Candidate can FREEZE the seat (they will not participate in further rounds of counselling),
• Candidates can FLOAT  (they will participate in further rounds of counselling to get their higher preferences). The FLOAT option is activated by default for those who pay the seat acceptance fee. 

A student who has chosen to FLOAT will be considered for seat allocation againin the next round. If they are eligible to secure a seat in an IISER that is higher in their preference list than the currently accepted one, they will be offered that seat. 

Rules related to withdrawal/refund of Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF):
1. The application fee paid during filling up the application form is not refundable.
2. Refund policy for the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) is given below:

1. The candidate can withdraw his/her seat by selecting the option “WITHDRAW SEAT” in the application portal. No other form/method of withdrawal is accepted. Email or phone communication in this regard shall not be entertained.
2. Once a candidate has withdrawn, he/she will not be considered for further rounds of counseling/admission process. A withdrawn candidate cannot re-enter the admission process under any circumstances.
   There are two important withdrawal dates:
   ? Round-wise withdrawal (RW) date, and
   ? Final withdrawal (FW) date. RW and FW dates can be found below.
3. If a candidate withdraws from the counselling process before RW deadline, then no cancellation fee will be applicable, i.e., the entire SAF (after the deduction of bank charges, if applicable) will be refunded.
4. If a candidate withdraws after the RW deadline, but before the FW deadline, then a non-refundable administrative fee will be deducted which is ?10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) for GEN/OBC/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD/KM and Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu Families (non-migrants) candidate and ?5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) for SC/ST candidates.
5. Once a candidate has withdrawn the seat through the counselling portal, the amount due will be refunded to the bank account provided in the IISER Preference Form. Such candidates do not need to take any additional steps towards their SAF refund. All efforts will be made to ensure that the refunds are processed within 15 working days after the withdrawal.
6. The Seat Acceptance Fee will be eventually transferred to the IISER which the candidate finally registers at, and the respective IISER will adjust the fees that may be applicable, locally from the candidate upon registration at the particular IISER. Any withdrawal after the FW deadline will be taken care by that particular IISER following the instructions given below.
7. If the candidate fails to join in-person at the offered IISER on the joining date mentioned in the offer letter of the respective IISER, the cancellation fee decided by the concerned IISER will be applicable.
8. Further, a candidate who has paid the SAF but fails to show up by the last date of admission fee payment at the concerned IISER, will not be considered for further rounds of admission.
9. If the candidate decides to discontinue after joining any particular IISER, the refund policy of that IISER will be applicable.
   IISERs and JAC are not liable for losses incurred if an application is not withdrawn in the above manner on or before the stipulated date and time.

Candidates will be able to download the final answer key of IISER 2025 pdf from the official website only in online mode. The authorities released the first provisional answer key of IISER pdf and candidates will be able to check their answers and calculate the probable scores secured in the IISER 2025 admission test. To download the IISER answer key 2025, candidates must follow the below steps:

• Click on the ‘IISER answer key” link.

• Enter application number (roll number) and password.

IISER is expected to release the IAT 2024 Exam Answer Key at its official website on May 25, 2025. After the release of the IAT 2025 admit card on June 1, 2025, tentatively. candidates need to visit the official website of the IAT 2025 which is mentioned above. If there is a mistake or an error on the IISER admit card, candidates are advised to contact the officials immediately well before the IISER exam. They must ensure that the changes are done at the earliest and the rectified IISER 2025 admit card is issued before the exam day. In case the candidate name or its spelling and photograph does not match with that of the photo identity card, then candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre. Yes, the timing, date and venue will be mentioned on the IISER 2025 admit card. Candidates must check the entry timing as well as the exam timing carefully on the admit card. They must visit the centre at least half an hour prior to the entry time. This will allow them enough time to get themselves composed and undergo the security checks. A last moment entry will not only increase their stress level but the exam authorities may decide to restrict their entry.

If seats in preferred IISERs are filled, then the candidate will not be considered in further rounds of counselling. As per the official information mentioned on the IISER 2024 admissions website, there will be six rounds of IAT 2024 seat allotment process. So far, IISER has released the IAT 2024 Round 3 seat allotment list, which was released on August 7, 2024.

A new information has been published on the official webiste by the exam officails ie., IISER 2024 Round 6 seat allootment list will be released on August 26, 2024 at 5 pm. Earlier the exam officails mentioned the release of only three rounds of counselling/ admssions list.

Following the previous years trend, IISER has the tendency of releasing multiple round of IAT  seat allotment/ closing rank list, depending upon the availability of the seat in the IISER insitutes. 

After the declaration of the IAT 2024 seat allotment list, candidates whose AIR rank lies in the released closing rank list will then have two options ie., accept or reject the seat. • Visit the IAT 2024 official website and log in to your registered account with the help of login credentials i.e., username and password.
• then click on the submit reference tab present on the left corner of the system.
• Next “Click Here to Submit Your Decision”

• Click “DECISION MAKING” and then click “Click Here to View Allotted Seat”
• Click “Generate OTP” to go to the next page

• Once the OTP is validated successfully this pop-up will come
• After validating the OTP, you need to select one of the options. Candidates who received their 1st choice will not see the FLOAT (I WANT TO ACCEPT AND FLOAT MY SEAT PREFERENCE) option
• Please select the option carefully and click “Proceed”. Once submitted, NO FURTHER CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED.

Candidates can go through the following information :

• If a candidate receives an admission offer, he/she can either choose to accept the seat or reject it. If a candidate rejects the offered seat or if no action is taken by the candidate before the deadline, then the candidate will not be able to participate in further rounds of counselling.
• If a candidate receives an offer, then to accept the seat offered, the student must pay a seat acceptance fee through online mode before the prescribed deadline. If the seat acceptance fee is not paid, the candidate will not be considered for admission in subsequent allocation rounds.

After accepting the offer and paying seat acceptance fee, the candidate can exercise two options:

• Candidate can FREEZE the seat (they will not participate in further rounds of counselling),
• Candidates can FLOAT  (they will participate in further rounds of counselling to get their higher preferences). The FLOAT option is activated by default for those who pay the seat acceptance fee. 

A student who has chosen to FLOAT will be considered for seat allocation againin the next round. If they are eligible to secure a seat in an IISER that is higher in their preference list than the currently accepted one, they will be offered that seat.
