Tips: There was a bit of a cultural shift at first, but that's common for most immigrants, and you adapt quickly. The environment is supportive, and there are good part-time opportunities on campus. I also received the Graduate award every year, which is automatically granted if you maintain a good GPA which is definitely a nice financial boost. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my university, course and life in Canada.

Tips: UVic offers a strong global comm department whose main goal is to make the students transitioning into Victoria easier. Helps to ease out with cultural shift. Scholarships options are available on merit. Weather is fantastic year round and be prepared for rain.

Tips: You can join Indian clubs like Umang and Tamil clubs and international student clubs like Uvic Global Community to meet other international students who are in the same boat as you. Join new activities, events, and clubs. Join a gym or fitness class. In your first semester, don't be afraid to say hi to the person in front of you in the cafeteria.
